"Mr.D, why do I feel there is a big story behind you and Little Moon" I asked him after a while.
"We have known for almost 12 years.." He looked at me, as to judge my emotions. "I first saw her at her father's funeral. Our fathers have been in the same university, but have never met after that. So I accompanied him to pay last respect to her father. "
"So what about her mother and siblings?"
"Her mother also passed away a few years later. It's so sad that she never had any brothers or sisters." Mr.D looked at a photo on his desk, a graduation photo of her with him. "She went through a lot the first five years. Sadly part of her trouble was created by my sister".
There was a knock on the door and Kevin appeared, "Sir, Will you be going home for dinner or should I make reservations at the hotel?"
"George, why don't you stay at my place instead of the hotel".
"Thank you Mr.D but I don't like to trouble you. It's fine for me to stay at the hotel." I said even though I knew, I wanted to hear the whole story.
"Kevin, arrange the guest room at home for Mr.George." He gave orders to Kevin leaving me no room to refuse. "I know you want to know the full story too.. And my home is pretty lonely except for Kevin who lives with me." He smiled.
"Thank you Mr.D. I will accept your request. May I know where Lee is?" as I need to talk to Lee and arrange things.
Mr.D called the receptionist, to give a message to Lee to come into Mr.D's room.
----------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, Lee has been roaming about the company with the Art director Joe.
"Mr.Joe, the work you have done so is excellent. Your team must have put a lot of heart and soul into the designs."
Joe laughed. "It's all thanks to Little Moon and Mr.D. They care about putting their heart and soul into the work. Such calming and reserved personalities, nothing can break them down."
"I do love to meet your chief designer. The work seems to be highly detailed and done with due diligence."
"Hmm... that will be a problem. I haven't met the chief designer, she is also our main scriptwriter. " He smiled.
"What?" I was surprised.
"Yes, she never shows herself even during video meetings. And she lives in another country."
"Mr.Lee, you are asked to come into Mr.D's office." said the receptionist.
--------------------------------------------
As Lee came to the office I arranged for him to stay at the hotel, while I spent a few days with Mr.D at his home.
I have to admit Mr.D lives in a luxury, with a two-story four-bedroom modern home with a garden filled with fragrant flowers. No wonder he is a tech enthusiast, his home filled with alot of home automation gadgets. But the home feels a bit lonely as if this home is hardly visited by others.
"Kevin, please show, George the guest room. I will go and prepare dinner". Mr.D instructed. "George please go and refresh yourself. Dinner will be ready in 45 minutes."
"Thank you Mr.D". As I went upstairs to the bedroom, I saw a bedroom decorated with teddy bears, books, and dainty decorations. Pretty much like a kid's room.
"Oh, Kevin, does Mr.D have a kid?" I asked as I saw Kevin saw me peeking at the room.
"Please don't misunderstand Mr.George. That room is specially designed to suit Little Moon. She loves Teddy bears. So Mr.D buys one every time he travels somewhere new. "
"Why?" I asked with an odd look on my face.
Kevin smiled and said, "Each teddy bear he buys comes with a story, that Mr. D shares with her."
"Have you met Little Moon?"
"I have not met her, but Mr.D has talked a lot about her, so I feel as I have known her all my life." smiled Kevin.
"It seems like they are a couple," I said without thinking that much.
"Hmm...We all know that they both love each other, respect and care for each other. It's something within their hearts. Their bond is pure. It's hard to put a name on their relationship."
--------------------------------------------
I went down after a shower to find Mr.D has spread the table with lavish food. The food was really delicious.
"Mr.D, the food is very delicious."
"Thank you, George. This is thanks to Little Moon." He laughed as he seemed to remember some happy memory.
"Sir, are you think of the first days you cooked for her?" asked Kevin.
"Yes.. She forgets there's something called food & breaks when she starts to do some serious designs. So I started to make food for her."
"What did you make her first Mr.D?" I asked as I was unable to realize he was a bad cook, to begin with.
"I made her a soup, with a lot of salt."
"Did she realize it?"
"No way...she had the full bowl. I knew it after having mine. So I learned to cook myself with trial and error." He smiled.
"You know Mr.George, Mr.D always, praises Little Moon's cakes. He says no one can beat her in that heavenly taste." said Kevin laughing.
"Don't remind me, Kevin... I am carving for her cakes. She used to make a big cake with decorations on my birthday."
"Why don't you visit her Mr.D?" I asked.
"Hmm... I don't want her to worry about my condition." The look on his face spoke volumes. "She believes I will recover. But the truth is something else. I know my body is losing it little by little."
We chatted a for a while, until Mr.D went to his office.
