Chapter 4: In Deaths Embrace

The wristband given to all hunters in a mark on their license as well as a useful tool. They are nearly indestructible highly advance tech that do many things for hunters like work as an I.D. , allow web access, communicate to other bracelets, act as maps, and many more things. One of the features was it was able to do full calculations on the body like how much vitality a hunter had left and give detail statistics about the person wearing it.

Currently Roes bracelet was flashing red with a warning symbol reacting to his pulse being through the roof and his heart rate sky rocketing. Some instinct kicked in little good it would do as he managed to jump to the side and roll to dodge the foot that was coming down to squash him. As he got back to his feet a tree.... a whole tree.... slammed into his chest causing blood to fly from his mouth as he shot off like a bullet before slamming into the tree he'd first found the [ Cyclops ] leaning against. He had know idea how this being had ascertained where he was, but none of that mattered as his back collided with wood. He cried out as his body sank a fool foot into the back almost every rib breaking all out once. Gasping for air he looked panicked and tried desperately to free himself.

Every single little movement felt like fired glass was exploding under his skin but he managed to get himself out of the trees side. He almost blacked out when he hit the ground and his jarring arms forced his chest to move. He sucked in air then found another tree slamming into his right side like he was a golf ball. He soared deep into the forest narrowly missing trees until he finally came crashing down. His Doppelganger was long gone him not having the strength to keep it up. He crashed down by a river of fire deep in [ Underworlds Decent ]. What he didn't know was this river was the Phlegethon, the river that ran to the Underworld and even beyond.

Barely conscious he shakily sucked in but the air never reached his lungs. Blood leaked from multiple holes thatd been punched in him by the trees branches. The biggest of these holes was about 6 inches in diameter and was just below his neck in the center of his chest. His eyes began to dull as he started to slip into darkness. His body was cold and numb and he was ready.

[ Now is not your time my child.]

A beautiful voice sang through his nearly gone mind. just before the darkness completely took him he heard more words.

[I hope this as taught you some lessons little one. You will grow truly strong in time. You've crossed the first hurtle my child, rest and when you wake you will be truly begin your life.]

Roanoke closed his eyes and sank into the void. He didn't feel scared. He didn't hurt. The darkness closed over him calling to him. He felt at peace as he opened his eyes to complete nothingness. However, things weren't as they seemed.
