Chapter 3: Pride is a Deadly Sin!

After a long arduous discussion back and forth with Anna about what she thought he should do, he finally came to a compromise. He accepted the long beautiful bow with a fletch of arrows and a long sword wickedly sharp on one edge and jagged like fangs along the other. He bowed to her thanking her and ran off.

Gasping for breath Roe was running full tilt in a giddy state of hubris. Anna had really filled his head up to bursting this time. He was already over cocky and way to prideful as is without the added help of Anna. If only he knew just how much this would cause his life to change.

He was headed out to a forest just north of his home town called [ Underworlds Decent ]. It was said those who went too far in found themselves in a scary new world. Monsters roamed free under these trees, but when you entered this world it was an entirely different ball game. Not even the bravest and strongest hunters would venture into these parts. Along the way he slayed some of the weakest monsters always found roaming on the fringe. These monsters note, are so weak that they train teenagers with killing these before they ever even leave school. With the ease he killed them and his already puffed up ego he got a head full of steam.

He ran for hours him and his Doppelganger making his learning fast. He did get alot better theres no doubt about that. However pride, is a deadly sin. Roe came to a stop standing tall, his copy was standing nimbly on a branch high above him with an arrow knocked. In front of the pair stood a massive 20 meter tall [ Cyclops ] sitting back against a tree that made it look as small as a lizard.

In complete and utter shock Roanoke stood with his jaw so low it almost hit the ground. "What the hell is that?!" He whispered furiously to himself taken back. His hubris was right there to fuel his stupidity though whispering sweet fantasies in his ear. 'Come on you can take it. Just find your sack and get to it already! you're the strongest there ever was!' With a wicked grin him and his Doppelganger jumped in!

His copy fired arrow after arrow aiming for the neck and face. His main body sprinted forward the huge sword held at an angle behind him. He used the giants ankle to kick off and land on its other leg before he made a mad dash to get as high as he could before it got up. He made it to its waist as it was pushing up and slashed with everything he had towards the stomach!

The blade sunk in as 2 arrows burrowed into the [ Cylops' ] eye. His blade vanished up to the hilt as 2 more were fired into its hand trying to get it to fall back again.

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!!!!

Everything went wrong then. All of a sudden the monsters skin glowed a blood red as it forced itself to the side by pushing the hand still on the ground hard. Roes blade was ripped out of his hands and the arrows missed their mark. Fear finally settled in as a shadow grew to cover the sun completely in front of him. 20 meters of solid glowing red flesh towered to the sky as his heart pounded so hard he felt like it was going to beat out of his chest!
