Chapter 6

The sun is shining brightly, and all the snow had melted. Misty slowly started to wake up, her head hurts and she barely can remember what happened last night. Misty slowly opened her eyes, her hand rubbing her head, she remembered that her head is bleeding last night, but her hand didn't feel any blood at all, her wounds were healed. She's now fully awake and realizes that she is lying on a couch, she sits up and looks around, the place looks cozy and has a warm atmosphere, the walls are made out of twigs and branches while the flooring is made out of wood, it feels like she's in a warm and cozy giant nest.

She gets down from the couch she's sleeping in and looks around, in the middle of the room there's a tall tree trunk, she peeks outside the window and realizes that she's inside a giant treehouse. It's pretty amazing, the treehouse is so tall, and she can see the whole forest from the window. She walks to the tree in the middle of the room and realizes that there are spiral stairs heading downstairs. This is a two-story treehouse! She wonders who has this epic treehouse in the middle of the forest, like this!

She immediately went downstairs and saw a complete living room with a dining room and kitchen on the same floor, she can hear someone cooking in the kitchen. She walks closer to the kitchen and takes a peek. She then saw a familiar figure with a black cloak, cooking breakfast, when the figure turn around, Misty knows who it is, its Kyan. Kyan finished cooking and looked at Misty with the same cheerful and warm smile he always has, "oh! You're awake" he said with a cheerful tone, "Just on time for breakfast!" he said.

He then put two plates of eggs and bacon and two cups of milk, as Misty sit down on the chair in front of Kyan. Misty took a bite of the food and it was so tasty, "Wow! I don't know you can cook' she said happily, Kyan smiled and said "I'm glad you like it" before taking a bit of his food. After having breakfast, Kyan grab the dirty dishes and put them on the sink, and walks over to Misty, "I have something for you" he said, and handed over Misty's bag, Misty smiled and she looks at the bag and as if something hit her head, she's getting a little suspicious. "Kyan... where did you get my bag?" she asked, Misty can see that Kyan is getting a little panicked, "well... I found it in the forest so I thought I might give it back to you" he said, not making eye contact with Misty.

"oh yeah? Why are you in the forest?" she snapped, getting a little angry "And don't lie!" she continued, "It's because I live here, okay?!" Kyan said, getting a little annoyed, he then realizes what he just said, and immediately cover his mouth, "what is wrong with me today?" he mumbles to himself. Misty is getting a little confused, "live here? What do you mean?!" she asked, half confused, but Kyan didn't answer her this time. "Anwer me! You're so weird! You can see in the dark, you have sharp hearing, you live in the forest, your run and walk so fast, it's as if you're... a cat" Misty said and just realized it all, he acts like a cat. She looks at Kyan, she's now a little scared, "a-are you a Skiter?" she asked, but Kyan once again didn't answer her and just look down to the floor, "answer me!" Misty snapped. Kyan sighed and slowly opened his hood.

When the bright sunlight hits his black hair, you can see the color of his hair slowly changing color to white, as white as the snow, and the black color of his hair gathered at one spot and forms two pointy cat ears, and from inside the black cloak, Misty can see his long and fluffy black tail. She look closely at Kyan, "Y-you're a-", "a Skiter, yes, I am" he said before she can finish her words, "I am a Skiter..." Kyan said as he look down to the floor, "I am a monster" he continued. Misty was shocked when she heard it, "n-no, you're not a monster!" she answered, "Do you have any proof?!" Kyan snapped, he look at Misty, and the pupils in his beautiful blue eyes turn into two tiny little slits, just like a cat. He walks closer to Misty as Misty back up, "Do you have any proof that I'm not a monster?! Every single person in the kingdom said so!!" he snapped again, "I could just cut your throat and kill you here" he continued, and stop walking. Suddenly his voice turns deep and scary, "go" he whispered, "go, before I kill you here" he whispered again.

Misty is scared right now, but even so, she can see a glimpse of sadness in Kyan's eyes. At this point she doesn't know what to do, so she just runs to the exit of the treehouse, getting farther and farther from the treehouse but deeper and deeper into the forest. She then stopped to take a break and catch her breath, she then thinks of her parents, they must be very worried right now when they realized that she was not in bed and the front door is not locked. She needs to find a way home quickly, but before she takes a step, she hears a familiar voice from the bushes, "oh! Look who's here, aint you're the human who's with Kyan?" the voice asked, Misty looked at the bushes and from the bushes the werewolf that attacked her last night show up, but in a normal wolf form. "w-what are you doing here? Ain't werewolves going to turn into humans when the sun goes up?" he asked and back up a little.

The wolf in front of her laughed a little, "is that what you humans think of us?" he said, "well... I'm not like any normal werewolf..." and slowly he turned into a human with black hair and a pair of two red eyes, and with sharp pointy teeth, "sorry, I can turn into both" he continued while playing with his long and sharp nails. Misty realizes that the boy or the werewolf in front of her has two wolf ears and a fluffy wolf tail, wagging at the back. "I can't attack you because you're at that cat's territory, but since you're not in his territory anymore..." he then laughed evilly, Misty knows that something bad will happen, "time for dessert!" he said loudly and sprung at Misty.

But before he can hit Misty, the wolf got hit first by someone and it makes him hit the tree. Misty looked at her savior and it was Kyan, "you owe me twice" he said to Misty while cleaning the dust off his cloak, Misty giggles a little, "do get too happy yet" Kyan said as he pointed at the wolf now looks very angry, "just give up, Jack" Kyan said casually as if Jack is nothing to him, Jack growled, "why you always ruin the party?!" Jack snapped angrily and a fight happen there.

Misty can barely see what's happening, Jack is attacking Kyan, he's giving Kyan punches, kicks, and even scratches but Kyan was just casually avoiding all of Jacks's attacks like it's nothing. Jack is getting tired and back up, trying to catch his breath. While Kyan looks as if nothing happened, he didn't even sweat or even looks tired. "you're done? Now, it's my turn" said Kyan, he then moved closer to Jack, so fast it looks as if he was teleporting and punching Jack. Jack then falls to the ground, all of his energy is gone and he's so tired.

"now..." Kyan said as he cleaned his hand, "Should I kill you?" he continued, but then Misty grabs Kyan's hand, "Don't kill him" she said, looking at Kyan with fear in her eyes. Kyan look at her and sighs, "you're lucky now Jack" Kyan said coldly and turns back to Misty. Jack was about to stand back up again, but then a bullet hit him and he fall to the ground again, Kyan and Misty looked at it, eyes filled with horror. Kyan went closer to check on Jack, but then stand up and kick his body, "Hey! What are you doing?!" Misty said while panicking, "It's okay, he's not dead, it's a stun bullet" Kyan answered seriously, he then sniffs the air, and his eyes suddenly widened. "Kyan? Are you okay?" Misty asked, a little worried, but Kyan just answered with one simple word, "hunters", and right after he said that a net was shooted and hit Kyan, Kyan fall to the ground and tried to break free from the net that trapped him, but it's too late, Misty can hear horse hooves getting closer.

Kyan look at Misty and said, "Run! Now!! If they see you with me, they'll think you're a traitor!!" he said, "But I can't leave you here!!" said Misty, "Just go!! I'll be alright!! I promise" he said. Misty hesitates for a second but then she goes and hides in the bushes, right on time before the hunters arrived. She can see King Henry going down from his horse and her dad riding on the horse right beside King Henry's horse. "well, well, well... look what do we have here" Misty can hear King Henry say to Kyan, while Kyan was just hissing at him, "hmmm black cat ears and tails..." King Henry said while thinking, "Is this what I think it is?" she can hear her father say, "Oh yes... Magnius, this is the Skiter we've been looking for" She can see King Henry smirking from the bushes. She wants to go and attacked those hunters and free Kyan, but she knows that it's only going to make things worse, all she can do now is wait quietly, as she saw Kyan and Jack being taken away.

She needs to convince her dad that Kyan is not dangerous and not a threat to the kingdom, so she quickly but quietly followed the hunter's horses that are already heading back to the kingdom, all she needs to do is just get there back on time before them.
