Chapter 7
Misty rush over back to the kingdom, through the market, past the bakery, and the bookstore of the kind man. The man who was working saw it when Misty ran past him, he was about to call her name when he realized that something was wrong. The man grabs his bag closes the bookstore early and went to the kingdom, following Misty.
Misty went inside the dark alley to the kingdom, she can't see where she was going, she's using her instinct to run in the dark and manage to get into the kingdom. As she was walking down the streets, she can hear some voices and cheerings from the town square. She then rushes over to the town square, wondering what happen there. As she arrived at the town square, she saw two giant cages, big enough for a big lion. Inside one of the cages, Misty can see Jack the werewolf, being the crazy and chaotic person he is, trying to escape the cage by breaking the bars but he doesn't have enough energy to do so after the fight with Kyan, and the other cage was covered with black covers.
Both of the cages were guarded by some hunters, the cage was surrounded by crowds who are curious about what happened. Misty slips through the sea of people with her tiny kid body until she was close enough to see what happened. In front of the cage, in the middle of the clearing, King Henry was standing with a proud smile on his face, but it looks more like a grin to Misty. Right beside King Henry, her father, Magnius Charm, holds a roll of paper. The crowd was whispering and mumbling to each other, King Henry was letting the crowd talk for a few moments before pulling out his hand, silencing the whole crowd, and giving a signal to Magnius.
Magnius unrolled the paper and said "To the citizens of Nucatopia kingdom, King Henry has something to announce. We finally manage to catch the Werewolf prince, Jack, who's been terrorizing the farm animals and farmers-" but before Magnius can finish his sentence, somebody laughs and cut his words, the laughter comes from the second cage. The whole crowd went silent, meanwhile, Jack just look at the cage beside him in anger, "YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY?!" Jack snapped to whoever is in the cage, "Yes, it is funny how an idiot you are! What the hell is 'the prince' of werewolves doing, terrorizing the farmers and eating the farm animals?! You're job is supposed to protect your people! Idiot" the person in the second cage answered, "are you even doing your job?" Jack said, a little calmer now and giving a little pressure at the word 'your', the person in the second cage went silent for a few moments before answering "You got a point" and went silent again.
King Henry cleared his throat to get the crowd's attention again, "shall we continue then?" King Henry said and give a signal to Magnius to continue, Magnius nodded and continued, "The price for him, Jack the werewolves prince, is 1 Million gold coins, if an-" but once again, Magnius's words were cut by the person in the second cage, "1 Milion gold coins?! Wow, you are overrated". Misty can see that Jack was so angry right now, and without any warning, Jack jumps to the bars of the cage like a monkey, "Listen hear you furball! When I get out of this cage, I swear I will tear you to pieces!!" Jack snapped, shaking the cage, "WILL BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP?!" King Henry shouted and he sounds annoyed, Jack give a last glance to the cage beside him before crossing his arm and sit at the corner of the cage, still giving a death stare to the second cage.
King Henry cleared his throat again before speaking, "Today I have a very big announcement! My people, for years we've been living in terror of a scary creature we all know, yes, Skiters" When King Henry mentioned Skiters, the whole crowd starts to mumble, they then start to talk to each other and make a fuss, but Misty feel insulted, Kyan is not somebody like that, he's the kindest and bravest person she ever knows. King Henry silenced the crowd by pulling out his hand up high, "But fear nothing my loyal citizens, 'cause we have good news for you!" King Henry continued, he then give a signal to the hunter who are guarding the cages to take off the covers of the cage, and the guards do as he said.
The hunters take off the covers, revealing Kyan sitting at the corner of the cage, his blue eyes look lifelessly to the distance with his white hair, cat ears, and tail, everyone who saw this will know that he's a Skiters. when Misty saw Kyan inside the cage, she immediately run over to him, ignoring his father and calling out her name. She grabs the cage bar, holding back her tears, "KYAN!!", Kyan snaps back to reality when he hears Misty's voice, "Misty!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Kyan snapped, he sounded angry but there was a hint of worry in his voice, "I was worried about you!" Misty answered almost crying, Kyan calm himself down and look at Misty.
He approached her, combing her hair, but before he could touch her, Magnius, Misty's father, swatted his hand away, making Kyan's hand move away from Misty. "Stay away from her, you monster" Misty's father snapped, the word monster just keep on echoing in his mind, and slowly the crowds start to agree with Magnius, which makes Kyan feel sad. Misty can see Kyan's eyes look sad, King Henry then ordered the guards and hunters to bring Jack and Kyan to the dungeon. The guards and hunters told and bring both of them to the dungeon, "and you are in big trouble, young lady" Misty's father said, he grabbed her wrist and drag her home, Misty tries to make her father let go of her hand, she saw Kyan sitting at the corner of the cage his gaze is blank as if there's no life in that body, slowly disappearing into the castle.
