269 Chapter 269

The next day a board meeting was to be held in the headquarters of Zhao Company and the Zhao Ming Mei was discussing about it with her father and grandfather. She wanted to be appointed as the vice president but Grandfather Zhao said that he had not made a decision yet. She tried throwing a tantrum, threatening them and everything else she could think of but her grandfather did not agree. Grandfather Zhao said that she would never become the Vice President as long as she behaved like this. Zhao Ming Mei's brother Zhao Dong Hai was retiring from the army and planning to join the company shortly since he had been injured recently and therefore Grandfather Zhao wanted Zhao Dong Hai to become the Vice President, as he was more competent. But Zhao Ming Mei did not like this. Though earlier she wanted her brothers to be involved in the company, after staying in charge for a long time, she was not ready to give up her position. She wanted the position to be hers at any cost.

Li Zi Yun saw all these dramas unfold but she was not bothered about all these. Even when Grandfather Zhao asked her what she thought about it, she had no comments. She did not want to give her opinion on issues on which she had little knowledge. Though she was part of Zhao family now, she did not want to poke her nose into unwanted business and this made the Zhao family appreciate her even more which instead caused Zhao Ming Mei to get irritated with Li Zi Yun.

After the dinner, Grandmother Zhao called Li Zi Yun alone to her study and gave her, her shares in the company. She felt sorry that her granddaughter did not have their love and affection and live a life of luxury all these years; so she wanted to do something for Li Zi Yun. Grandmother Zhao knew that Li Zi Yun would have everything in life now since she was married to Wang Yu, but she wanted to give her shares to Li Zi Yun to show the Wang family that Li Zi Yun is now their family and she cannot be bullied. Grandmother Zhao did not think twice before signing of the shares to Li Zi Yun. She was getting older and her shares were not something important to her, her granddaughter was more important. Though Li Zi Yun refused, Grandmother Zhao was adamant and gave her shares to Li Zi Yun.

The next day when Li Zi Yun was getting ready to leave, Wang Yu saw Li Zi Yun going through her jewelry unsure what to wear. He suddenly remembered the box the nurse gave to him after Li Zi Yun's surgery along with her bloodied clothes and the other jewelry that she was wearing. Wang Yu had taken only the wedding ring from that box and gave the rest to the maid to take care. The butler had returned the jewelry to Wang Yu and he had kept in his wardrobe along with his clothes.

Wang Yu gave the entire set of jewelry to Li Zi Yun that was wrapped inside a cloth, "here"

Li Zi Yun took the bundle from his hands, "What is this?"

Wang Yu just gave it to Li Zi Yun and went to select his suit without saying a word. Li Zi Yun went through the contents and she remembered this was what she was wearing when she was kidnapped. She wanted to throw this away somewhere and never look at it again and that is when she noticed a chain, which was not hers present among those. Li Zi Yun knew everything that she owned and as far as she knows, it was not hers. It looked like a unisex chain and she had never bought anything like this.

Li Zi Yun dangled the necklace in front of Wang Yu's face, "This is not mine. Is this yours?"

This immediately caught Wang Yu's attention, "Isn't this yours?"

Li Zi Yun shook her head, "No it's not mine"

There was finally a smile on Wang Yu's face. He knew that at last he would be able to find the kidnappers. The criminal had left behind a clue.

Wang Yu immediately changed into his clothes, took the chain in his hand, and was in a hurry to leave, "You leave first. I will join you shortly."

Wang Yu kissed Li Zi Yun's forehead and hurriedly left the house.

Li Zi Yun called behind him, "Wait…"

But Wang Yu had already left. He immediately showed the necklace to Assistant Liu Guang to find out the owner. Wang Yu knew that at last, he had found the criminal and he was thinking of ways to make that person suffer. He twirled the chain in his hands. it was a thin platinum chain and as he looked closer he could see the initials engraved on it. A smirk formed on his lips, the person will soon die a brutal death in his hands.

In the board meeting in the Zhao Company, Grandfather Zhao had introduced Li Zi Yun as his granddaughter to the board members and asked them to support her as they support the other family members. Li Zi Yun entered the room, but Zhao Ming Mei was not happy about it.

When Li Zi Yun did not leave after the introduction, he got up from her seat and said, "Cousin, this meeting is only for board members. It's time for you to leave"

Li Zi Yun chuckled and sat opposite to Zhao Ming Mei, next to her father Zhao Yu Zheng and said, "Oops... Grandma gave me her shares. So… I am also a share holder… Cousin…"

Li Zi Yun was sitting casually thinking about Wang Yu and the chain. He said he would join her soon and still there was not a single message from him.

The voting was to take place Grandfather Zhao said loudly, "Dong Hai, don't worry. You have the entire families support. The election will be held between you and Ming Mei and lets see how the voting turns out"

Zhao Ming Mei thought that pressuring her grandfather would help her get the Vice President position but she never thought that he would publicly embarrass her like this.
