[ Edited ] Ace

[ Island ]

Mark and his crew ready themselves as they got closer to the island.

the island is surrounded by weird, rough currents, with hardly any way to leave it looks like a deserted one with only trees around it.

It seems like a no-name one with no civilization so mark wanted to leave already but Valerie spotted a destroyed boat and think there might be some people who would need their help.

Helpless Mark can only check the island himself, he ordered Glaurung to guard Valerie while he and a few crows scout the island.

Slowly he walked toward the small boat and found a pirate flag there with a jolly roger of a skull with a spade on its background.

(A/N: No flames yet because he still doesn't eat the mera-mera no mi.)

He became alert for any potential ambush and slowly look at his surroundings checking if there is any danger.

After a while, he slowly lowers his guard and continues the search for the pirates.

Exploring for a few minutes and finding nothing he was planning to go back and sail away thinking it's that maybe the pirates are already dead and the boat pieces were just pushed by the waves to the shore.

Suddenly one of his crows spotted a human shape creature, so he immediately moved toward the location.

He hides in the trees, thinking it was best to study their attitude and how they move before he shows himself.

He saw two people, one is a tall muscular young man with curly black hair, he have a red bead of necklace around his neck and a weird hat styled like a cowboy one.

The other one has a mask that hides half of his face, he is a muscular man with spiky long light blue hair, and wears a very long opened coat which stretches down to his knees and leaves his chest exposed. He also wears a belt diagonally across his chest, trousers with a rose design on the bottom left that is held up by a belt, and a pair of dark boots that go up to his knees.

What he discovers after observing them for a bit is one is an idiot while the other one is an untrustful fellow.

So he decided to show himself to the two of them since he feel no kind of threat to any of them.

Mark slowly walks out of the place where he is hiding and said, "Hey guys do you need help?"

The blue hair guys immediately became alert while the idiot also look at me suspiciously.

"Who are you and what do you want," the blue hair guys ask me.

"I am just a fellow who happens to see your wrecked boat and think that you may need some help" I reply with the most amicably smile I can show.

"Really? that's great news we've been stuck here for days and were already out of food, we would die if not for your help". The idiot said with a smile while putting his arm around my shoulder.

'This one I don't know if he's an idiot or he is just a naive one'. Mark thought while shaking his head.

After a while of talking with each other, I was finally able to get their name, the idiot's name is Ace while the ice cube call himself Masked Deuce but I would call him Deuce for short.

They also tell me how they were stuck on here.

After ace left his hometown he wander around the sea for a while before sudden getting caught up by the strange wave around the island and was stuck inside.

Here he found deuce who was also in the same situation as him being stuck around the island after being caught by its strange phenomena.

After talking with them Ace already treats me like a friend while Deuce was still an ice cube silently observing me.

I also like the idiot, he was straightforward to get along with, and he also invites me to join his crew but I reject it.

After pestering me for a while we decided to head back towards my ship and finally leave this island.

Ace said he would try to invite me to his crew while we are on my ship and even offer me a vice-captain position until I drop them to a populated island.

We all stand up and prepare to go do my ship when Ace spotted something and get it, it was a fruit with an orange color with a swirl like flames around it.

"Hey guys I happen to see this do you think it's poisonous?" ace asks his question to both of us.

"I don't know and if it's one I would just treat you no biggie" Deuce replied.

"Do any of you want to try it with me"Ace offers us his fruit.

"It seems you're a lucky guy huh ace," I said looking at the fruit on his hand different from theirs he knew what it is because he ate one himself.

"Huh? How can you say that I am lucky for finding a weird fruit." Ace asks with confusion all over his face.

"The weird fruit you're talking about is called devil fruit, they are one of the powers that control this world, there are three different types of devil fruit, one would give you the ability to transform into mythical beings or animals, one allows you to control and have the body of objects or matters, while the last one gives you the ability to become a human element itself, as for what type is in your hand is something I did not know but it must be related to flames so it would either be a chance to become a mythical creature related to flames, a human with the ability to control the temperature, or become the representation of a flaming human". I said to them explaining the worth of the fruit in his hand.

This time ace becomes serious, while even the ice cube seems tempted to eat it for himself.

"And before you said more, there can only be one person who would eat it, and you can only eat one in your whole life. I said slowly trying to test ace and his first crew.

Would they fight over it, or would he try to immediately eat it being blinded by power and greed?

Suddenly ace move his hand that was holding his fruits and said "do any of you want it?"

This one question make a smile on my face, 'Even in front of such power he does not change huh'

Deuce slowly shakes his head " No, since the you found it, it belongs to you".

Another reason that makes me smile is loyalty I did not expect coming from the ice cube.

"What about you mark, do you want it" ace ask me this time handing the fruit to me.

Shaking my head I deny it and said " As I said you can only eat one in your life and I already eat mine.

This time both of them look at me with shock in their eyes, after all, they know I can simply take it and silence both of them since we just met I can simply take it and kill them.

Ace look at me with a genuine smile this time and said " fine I would eat it but I would always remember this from now on you can consider me a brother".

(A/N: Idk much about this event and how ace acted but you can give your opinion if you think I wrote him wrongly. And I am really not good at communications since I am pretty much an introvert myself so please just bear with it.)
