Chapter 13- The reunion

Granger and the other demon hunters arrived.

"Look it's them!"

They saw Nila together with Granger and the other demon hunters.

A monk from of the monastery approach Granger. "How was your walk"

"It's fine."

The monk saw Nila and asked. "Who's that little girl?"

Granger looked at Nila. "I saved her from a demon, but her parents were unfortunate."

"Did you kill the demon?"

Granger take a deep breath. "She escaped, She's tough, but next time we see each other I'll compose a beautiful sonata on her corpse."

Selena, after an encounter with Granger rested on her room, taking a deep sleep as she waits to recover from her injuries.

Alice gather her demons. "All of you! We won't stop as long as we don't have her."

"For all due respect your majesty, how can we get the maiden? Many of us got defeated in the previous time."

Alice gaze at him, she stood up and cast a magic power on him. Other demons witnessed what happened and they become terrified.

"That's what will happen to anyone who disobey me."

Alice's demons are afraid. "Your majesty, what do you want us to do?"

"Prepare and we will attack again."

The demons prepared and proceed together with Alice.

Granger and the monk continue their conversation. Nila looked straight to them.

The monk draw close to Nila. "Hello little one."

Nila stared at him, without any reaction.

"Don't be afraid, they can't hurt you anymore, you're safe here."

"Little girl, this is your new home now, nobody can hurt you here." One of the demon hunter said.

"She will be okay. I think she needs time and space." the monk said. "Little girl come, I'll take you to your new home."

The monk took Nila to the monastery, together with the other orphans. Some orphans already recovered from their past and lived happily in the empire.

The monk stood before the kids. "Children, she's new here, please welcome her."

The children welcomed Nila and treat her as their sibling, but still the sorrow is in her face. She still tormented by the nightmare she experienced.

Nila live in the monastery together with the other kids. They're free to play and enjoy their days as children.

Nila sat around, sulking, silent as the midnight, the nightmare of yesterday still fresh on her mind. The face of the demon that killed her mother is in her mind.

Granger and the other demon hunter observes her. "I think what happened to her still fresh on her mind."

"Indeed." Granger said.

One little girl approach her. "Hi, I'm Ruth."

Nila looked at her.

"Don't be shy, we can be friends if you want." Ruth sat beside her.

Nila remain silent as Ruth talk about so many things. "By the way, where's your parents?"

After Ruth asked her, Nila looked in the ground, her tears start to fall from her eyes.

"Oh, did I say something wrong?"

The servant of the monastery approach and comfort Nila.

Granger and the other demon hunter witness the grief of Nila.

"Poor little girl."

"Yeah right."

Nila lived in a place that was new to her, without her parents and without her former self.

Nila walk around the empire. As she roam around, a demon hunter that was in training caught her attention. With his sword and his demon hunter skill he move around and slashes the air.

"He's Alucard." Granger is leaning on the wall behind her. "Same as you, he lost his parents at the young age."

They watch him while doing his training.

Chou continue his search for the maiden she love. He wandered around the land of dawn just to find her.

Chou finally saw her from a distance. "Leandra!"

She stop and take a look.

"Leandra!"

Leandra run away. Chou chase her as fast as he can.

Chou reached her and hold her hand. " Leandra, I'm looking for you everywhere. Why?"

"Chou, there's so many things I never told you yet." Leandra said.

"What do you mean Leandra?" Chou asked.

"Chou, I you don't know me yet." Leandra said. "I think this is the time for you to know the truth."

Alice, together with her minions arrived. "It's nice to see you again."

Chou step forward and hide her in his back.

"I still remember you young man, you're the man in Eruditio right?" Alice asked.

"Yes I am, I won't allow anyone to touch her. Over my dead body!" Chou closed his fist tightly.

"I like that, you have a brave heart, why shouldn't you come and be my servant?"

"What do you want from her?"

"Do you really want to know?" Alice asked. "Ask that maiden herself."

"Leandra, what all of this mean?"

Leandra explain everything, her past, her story and her real identity. "Forgive me Chou, I lied to you. My real name is not Leandra, but Lunox."

She remove her cowl, reveal her true identity. She reveal herself to be the maiden with two wings and the one who have control over chaos and order.

She turn to Chou, tears slowly fall from her eyes. "I love you so much Chou, I can't take this, lying to the man I love."

Leandra take Chou's hand, but Chou take his hand back. Chou walk away and left her.

"Why is he leaving you alone? Alone with us that sorrounds you?" Alice said.

"No matter what, I will never join you Alice!"

"Well, I'll take you by force."

Alice ordered all her demons to get Lunox. Lunox was able to fight all of them, using her power and they have a hard time on defeating her.

Meanwhile, Chou was so upset, leaving Leandra behind. "I left Eruditio and all my friends just for a liar?"

Lunox is fighting Alice and her minions. "Even though you kill me, I will never join you!"

"Lunox, you are left behind by the one you love, why should you join us, we won't leave you alone." Alice said.

"No!"

"Lunox, don't forget that we're in a large number, and you're just alone."

"She's not alone!" Chou arrive and stand besides Lunox.

"Chou.."

"There's so many things we'll talk about later." Chou said. "For now, we need to take them all and get out of there."
