Alive once again

Holy shit, everything hurts. My eyes hurt, my skin feels like it is burning and my throat is killing me. THE OUTSIDE WORLD IS PAIN, PUT ME BACK! I scream even harder than before and my vocal cords pay the price.

This continues for some time and when I notice it I am already in the arms of a beautiful woman.

A purple haired woman.

Looking with more attention I notice my twin that is still crying on her other side.

My PINK haired twin.

....

Something is fucky here.

No newborn should have a hair colo like that so I am either in another world or in the future.

I can't do much more than observe the situation right now so I focus on the room. The room looks like a bedroom, a really luxurious bedroom. There is a man in a white coat in the corner talking to a man in black clothes. Probably a doctor and hmmm my dad? I don't know, I can't hear them with my sibling screaming their lungs out.

Next on the list is my mom. Now that I think about it I think she looks familiar. Hmmm

"#$@&##@-@#&@#$@& Yuriko?"

My thoughts are interrupted by the man in black who says that in our direction.

Huh, was that japanese? And Yuriko? No fucking way...

Looking at my possible new family the realization of where I am finally downs on me.

Highschool of the Dead.

I am at Highschool of the Dead and Saya is my twin.

This. Is. INCREDIBLE!

If I remember correctly Saya's father is some kind of Yakuza or something like that. Anyways, that is good for me, I can start planning what to do with this world's future without worrying about money and shit like that.

However, considering my current exhausted state (from too much screaming), sleep is my priority.

My thoughts slowly drift away and the world fades.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While the exited reincarnator enters a deep sleep, a worried mother looks at her pink haired son while asking the doctor:

"Takuya-san, was that normal?"

The doctor, now named, looks at the woman in mild confusion before noticing where she was looking at and nodding.

"That was indeed a little strange, I have never seen a baby cry like that before." Takuya says.

And that was true. While the girl cried for some time that was normal, however, the boy looked like he was screaming in agony and flailed his limbs with reckless abandon.

It is no surprise he is sleeping so deeply now.

"We will do some tests later to see if he is alright but is probably nothing. Some babies do have rather exaggerated reactions during their birth."

Yuriko says nothing but nods at the doctor and holds her children a little bit tighter.

"Takuya-san, should we take him to the hospital?"

Says the man in black while looking at the little boy.

"You don't have to worry Souichiro-san, I have the equipment in my van. We can do it right now so he doesn't move too much." Says the doctor.

"Alright, do what you think is best." Souchiro says.

[S.P.E.C.I.A.L]

Wut.

The first thing I see when I open my eyes is a very familiar screen. The S.P.E.C.I.A.L selection screen from Fallout 4.

Oh boy, is this really what I think it is? HELL YEAH I GOT A MOTHERFUCKING SYSTEM BABY UOOOOO!!!!

Let's see, let's see, I have 40 points to assign here huh. I remember in the game you only had 21. But in New Vegas you got 5 in all of them plus 5 extra to distribute. So, this is a mix of both? Neat.

Now, how should I "build" myself hmmm... if this system is a mix of both games it must have both it's functions, meaning, I gain a single point each level up which I can assign to either perks or my S.P.E.C.I.A.L. The question is, will this be the same here or will my stats stay the same for the rest of my life like in NV or will I really be able to assign my points to it?

Hmmm one way or the other I know what path I want to take.

Strength: 3

Perception: 6

Endurance: 2

Charisma: 7

Intelligence: 10

Agility: 4

Luck: 8

Yep, that'll do the trick. This is not a game so I should be able to do some very neat things with my max INT.

Robot army, here I come!

[Choose your traits]

Oh, so I can choose my traits too? Nice. Letmesee….. okay this will be my go-to.

[Four Eyes: + 2 Perception when wearing glasses. Bonus does not apply when determining Perk requirements. - 1 Perception permanent reduction. Penalty will still apply when determining Perk requirements.]

I can probably bypass this with lenses so it will be very useful.

[Skilled: Gain +5 points to every skill. You suffer -10% from experience gained.]

Maximum potential, baby! I am still a newborn soI'll have plenty of time to level up before the shit hits the fan.

I really wanted Wild Wasteland but I doubt its usefulness in real life.

Now for the hardest part. My skills.

Barter: 25

Energy Weapons: 23

Explosives: 23

Guns: 19

Lockpick: 23

Medicine: 46

Melee Weapons: 17

Repair: 31

Science: 46

Sneak: 19

Speech: 40

Survival: 15

Unarmed: 15

And this is it. I am READY FOR THE WORLD! With my character creation done my consciousness fades one more time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am hungry.

It's been a few days since I was born and let me tell you: being a baby sucks. I can't do shit with my pathetic newborn body, even my already low physical stats have been nerfed to 1 until I hit puberty!

My daily life can be resumed to wake up, cry for milk, deal with my overly clingy sister and mother, and sleep again. How the fuck can a baby be so fucking curious?! Saya doesn't stop pestering me no matter what I do!

After crying my lungs out for no more than a few seconds my mother arrives at our joint crib.

"How are my little babies?" She says with a smile on her face.

Oh yeah. Guess what happens when you have the max possible intelligence a human being can get without artificial augmentations? Super learning, that's what you get. In the short time I passed in this family I already learned japanese.

It's actually fucking scary how fast it was, even considering my previous knowledge of said language.

Speaking of knowledge, I learned some good things about my system. It appears that my "skills" actually translated itself to my brain in the form of pure information instead of practical experience with it. It's like I have a whole manual in my head for a bunch of machines that don't even exist in this world, as all that information comes from the Fallout universe.

"Here you must be hungry" Yuriko says while showing her nipples to me.

Thankfully, my undeveloped body doesn't get aroused by such things. It would be rather awkward if that wasn't the case.

While I drink her milk I go back to thinking about my powers.

I have an inventory. An unlimited inventory. And by unlimited I mean unlimited space and everything I put in there can be copied an infinite amount of times. I still remember my confusion when I put one of my toys inside there to test it and it's icon didn't disappear when I removed it.

I also remember my mother's confusion when she found our crib full of copies of the same toy.

*burp* Ahhh her milk is really good, I will probably gonna miss it when I get older.

"*giggles* What a little glutton you are, Saiki." Yuriko says.

Oh yeah, my name now is Saiki. Guess it really goes well with my pink hair huh? Maybe when my vocal cords develop enough for accurate speech I should pester my parents about green glasses.

"Are you hungry too, Saya?" My mother says.

With that, she puts me back in my comfy place and picks my sister up.

I really want to be able to walk again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

""Happy birthday!"" my family and friends say as me and Saya blow the candles on our cakes.

7 years. It's been seven whole years since the old me died. It is incredible how well I have adapted to this new life. My considerable high charisma, luck, genius and good family put me in a good spot to make connections.

Yes, most of them are mere connections while there are a select few I truly care about. The greatest decision I have ever made was to max my speech. I can quite literally convince a beggar to sell me his clothes for a sandwich without using any threats. Not that a 7 year old can intimidate a beggar, but my bodyguards can.

My and my sister's birthday party are always very crowded due to both mine and my family's influence. Even if most of them are here to maintain appearances, parties like this are the reason why I am so well known. After all, it's not every day that you can see and talk to a child that revolutionized the world's nuclear energy technology.

"Congratulations on your birthday, young master." says a middle aged man with a smile on his face.

"Thank you, Takuya-san. It is always good to see a fellow man of science." I say to our family doctor.

"Hahahaha, and it is good to see that you are as polite as ever. So, I heard from your father that you are writing a paper on stem cell cultivation, is that true?" He says with a big and sincere smile on his face.

"Yes. Although it is mostly theoretical as my home lab is extremely lacking in equipement." I lie with a sad face. My lab is probably one of the most advanced facilities in the world.

I would be sure of that if not for a single thing.

This world has a few more twists than I originally thought.

"Ha, I told those bastards of the university that they should allow you into their labs but nooo, he is just a child and shouldn't be allowed in a highly restricted facility. As if you weren't playing with nuclear weapons for two already, humph." He says with an angry face.

"*cough**cough* Takuya-san, how do you know about that?" I say with a bit of surprise. Nuclear power CAN be advanced through theoretical work, so how did he reach the conclusion that I messed with nuclear WEAPONS?

"Young master, there is only so much that you can do with a black board. Your 'theories' would require a more hands on approach. Knowing that and your obsession with futuristic guns, it is as obvious as the day that you would mix both. Not only that, you just confirmed what I said." He says with a grin. Shit, I really let my guard down around him huh?

"Ehhhh, so, about that-" "ONII-SAMA!!" I try to worm my way out of this situation before Saya arrives for my rescue.

"Sorry Takuya-san, you know how she gets during our birthdays." I say making my way over to my sister. His grin only widens but he doesn't answer.

"What is up, Saya-chan?" I say with an innocent smile, but it clearly fails to calm her down.

"What I said about talking adult stuff at our parties?" She says while pouting.

"Sorry, sorry, I will stay with you now." I say with a meek expression. Her pout vanishes and is replaced by a smile.

"Let's go see Saeko-chan!" She says while dragging me away.

Due to the fact that my father was a disciple of Saeko's father, we became acquaintances considering our close age. I also learned a lot about swordsmanship from her father by watching and memorizing his moves.

"Hello Saiki-san, Saya-chan, congratulations your birthday." Saeko says with a polite smile. Damm, even though she looks nothing like her sexy future self I am still kinda of jealous of my sister because of their proximity. My adult-like actions make it hard to socialize for kids at my age.

"Hi!" Says my sister with a huge smile.

"Thank you for coming Saeko-chan." I say trying to get a little closer to her, knowing full well how useless it is due to her personality.

"It was nothing, there is no way I would miss such an event from our clan's allies." She says ever so polite. Why do I even try? Guess there really are some cons to acting beyond my age. She tries to look formal in my presence when I know full well she isn't like that when I am not around.

"Hey, Onii-sama, didn't you make another new sword last week? Why don't you show it to Saeko-chan?" Saya says innocently. I am still not used to being called like that. I don't like it. It makes me feel distant from her. Ever since I published my first thesis she started calling me like that instead of 'onii-chan' and no matter what I do I can't seem to change that.

But I don't regret it. It was necessary to survive in this twisted world.

Saeko's eyes sparkled a little before she regained her composure. Ah, why didn't I think of that before! Of course the way to her heart would be through litteral swords! I should focus a little more on my swordsmanship to get a little closer to her.

A shame that I prefer maces and whips. Blunt damage and medium range immobilization makes a wack combination.

"Sure, it is my lab. Let 's go." I say with a smile.

After making our way out of the party and into the underground, we get face to face to the entrance to my 'lab': a Fallout style vault door. There was no way I could resist using it as my front door. I just had to follow MY theme you know? And even better is that it is the complete package with the nuclear reactor and 'unethical' experiments! I mean, human cloning ins't THAT bad right? After all, a robot army is good, but a cyborg army? Yeah that's even better.

With a few scans of my brain waves the door to my vau- err, lab opens and we pass through the futuristic and robots filled corridors to the practical experiments wing. Said wing is divided itself even further into biology, physics, chemistry, engineering and misc. Our destination being the misc wing as the sword is a result of both chemistry and engineering.

The moment we step into the room Saeko's face changes to admiration towards the object in the middle. My most recent masterpiece: a monomolecular sword named Pink Petal, aka, PP. As the name suggests, the blade is completely pink, just like my hair, and it is so thin that it can't be seen at a certain angle. As it was inspired by Muramasa it has a katana shape.

Both Saeko and Saya rush to the sword's case but are smart enough not to touch it. A monomolecular has its edges honed to the width of a single molecule, meaning it can cut things on a molecular level. It is the best blade I could possibly make with my current knowledge and the materials available on Earth.

"This, this….. how?" Saeko says with shining eyes. Finally I got her to show some reactions from the bottom of her heart.

"Drugs." I say with a deadpan. Last week I played modded Terraria and found Muramasa in the underworld. With a spark of inspiration, I decided to make a truly legendary blade, one that could be called magical. Said inspiration wasn't enough to complete such a work without messing with my schedule, so I took a few mentats and 20g of cocaine.

I have no recollection about what happened afterwards, but when I woke up with this blade on my hands and a pile of neatly cut robots I knew I had succeeded.

"ONII-SAMA! WHAT DID MOTHER AND FATHER TELL TO YOU ABOUT USING DRUGS?!?!" Saya shouts. Yeah, this wasn't the first time I did something like this.

"Calm down, I already told you I won't get addicted! I can flush it out of my system with an auto-doc and I always make sure I don't take any dosage that can permanently affect me." I say a little annoyed. How is it possible that my family doesn't care about me messing with radioactive materials but get all fussy when I do drugs? Especially my father, he was the one who gave me uranium when I proved that I knew what I was doing!

Cloning? Fine. Nuclear reactors and mini nukes? An everyday occurrence. Easily purgeable drugs? Complete heresy!

"I am still telling on you! Humph" Saya says and pouts, again.

"Fine! I don't care! Anyways, Saeko-chan, do you want to test it?" I say while turning my head to our guest who is feeling a little awkward with our current topic.

"Huh, I, I can?" She says a little surprised. She still isn't nearly as mature as the manga, getting surprised so easily.

"Of course you can! Why else would I bring you here? This is my lab, not a museum!" I say while opening the glass case and taking the sword. I wouldn't let anyone I didn't trust in my little piece of heaven, and if I trust them enough to come here I trust them enough to use my inventions.

"Here take it, BUT BE CAREFUL! A single touch can cut the surface of any material, and with enough force it can very well cut a boulder as if it were water." I say with a serious tone while she nods.

After a few minutes of Saeko cutting test robots with glee we return to the surface. The robots are pretty much disposable as I can simply store parts in my inventory and create an infinite amount of them on my assembly line.

"Thank you very much Saiki! I never thought a sword could be so sharp!" The blue haired girl says with a bright smile. I can't believe it. ALL I HAD TO DO WAS SHOW HER A GOOD SWORD AND SHE GOT RID OF THE HONORIFICS?!

"You are welcome, Saeko-chan! I will send your sword to your home when it is done." I say trying to keep my emotions in check. I agreed to make her a monomolecular sword of her own because mine already had 'PP' inscribed in the blade.

Not exactly fitting for a girl. Or anyone that cares about blades at all.

To my surprise she blushes at my words. She. Blushes. My heart can't take it. Nope, don't think about it. I have things to do right now, things like calming my father down. There is no way he won't be mad at me for just vanishing together with my sister at our party. Especially due to the fact that the party is over now so he and mom had to send away the guests without us.

"Bye!" She says while running away. I notice a small frown in Saya's face when she sees the other girl's reaction. Another problem incoming.

"Saya, I will talk to our father now. Why don't you go back to your room?" I say with a serious face. Well, as serious as a 7 year old can look.

"But-.....okay." She says in a defeated tone. It is good that she is smart enough to understand what I mean, after all, I AM taking the blow for her too.

As I make my way to my father's location marked on my high-tech green shades, I think about this nightmarish world.

Why nightmarish? Well, that's because of 3 main facts and everything that they encompass.

First of all: Umbrella corporation.

Yes, this world has a Umbrella corporation of its own and ALL of its movie characters, which means the T-virus is going to cause a zombie apocalypse if I don't stop them. Thankfully I found no Resident Evil game elements on this world, otherwise things would be even worse.

Second: The astronaut Isaac Clarke.

One day, while I was on the net looking for discrepancies in this world's history I found this motherfucker. Spatial engineer and repairman at one of Umbrella's space stations. I played the Dead Space triology before dying and konow about the terror of the necromorphs and what they represent. I even tried to find something that would put a stop to my thoughts so I hacked into Umbrella's servers. Know what I found? A project about a certain suit with a very iconic helmet. I am not ashamed to say I shat my pants when I confirmed my theories.

Third: My dreams.

More specificaly, the dreams I started having EVERY FUCKING NIGHT since I reached level 10. Dreams about a strange black and green place. Dreams of strange creatures and a cult worshiping some kind of black pyramid. Dreams that gave me a VERY specific location: an abandoned church owned by the Dunwich brothers.

I know this place. It is from a Fallout 4 mod called Children of Ug-Qualtoth. It adds a quest that involves the player killing an eldritch god. Nothing big.

I admit I comtemplated suicide out of sheer desperation before thinking: if eldritch gods exist, what would happen if I die while being under the influence of one? Nothing good I guess.

So, this world went from 'kind of easy with my powers' to 'God has forsaken us' very quickly. I mean, I can deal with Umbrella in a few years without any trouble. The marker and necromorphs? Maybe if I create some kind of planetary defense system making sure nothing I don't approve of reaches the planet. An extra-dimensional god sleeping underground somewhere near Boston. This is way above my paygrade.

Sure, in the game it wasn't THAT hard to kill it.

But this isn't a game. I made sure of that.

My 'system' isn't perfect, far from it, it is completely full of bugs and glitches. The reason why I have an unlimited inventory is because whatever regulates said function is broken. My 'carry weight' is 0, meaning I shouldn't be able to carry anything, but I do. The critical damage part is also broken, most probably because it makes no sense to use chance to decide if a hit on someone's foot kills them or not. Instead, said 'crit chance' affects my Exp. What kind of game gives you a chance to get up to 12x Exp based on your luck stat?!

Those are only some of the broken yet beneficial features of my system. Of course, not every glitch is in my favor. The fast travel system for exemple doesn't take in consideration Earth's rotation movement. Thankfully I tested it out really close to my destination, otherwise I could have appeared in the middle of the sea.

All in all, for my many problems I decided that wasting any time to prepare would be a fatal mistake. As such, I didn't hide my intellect or powers from my parents. I need any and all help I can get, and who is better to help me than an extremist leader that would do anything for the safety of Japanese society and happens to be my father?

I stop thinking about that when I reach my father's office. He likes to keep an intimidating persona even when he knows I know how much of a softie he is.

"Come in." He says before I even knock on the door. He really likes to use the surveillance system I installed huh?

"Hi dad!" I say faking an innocent smile. His stony expression stays as solid as steel. Damm, it doesn't work on him anymore huh?

"Do you know how rude it is for the host to leave the party before their guests?" Souchiro says while glaring at me. Yep, time for a distraction.

"Sorry about that, Saya was pestering me to spend time with her and Saeko. Anyways, I have made a big progress on my power armor project! The first suit is done and, as you know, it means that mass production is available after the tests." I say while changing the topic from my wrongs to my rights. He keeps glaring at me for a few more seconds though.

"Do you think it will be enough?" He asks with a slight tone of worry in his voice. He knows about Umbrella's plans. I had to show him a reason to devote his resources to my cause and I had already hacked into their servers so I had all the evidence I needed.

"Not even close. But we still have time. By the time the infection spreads we will be ready. I won't let humanity be destroyed." I say solemnly. A small smile creeps on his face.

"I sometimes can't believe it.... Everything. Both what awaits us in the future and the luck we had that you were born." He says with an expression even I can't completely decipher but shows both sadness and relief.

"Me neither." I say with sincerity. These last seven years were…. surreal.

I suffered unimaginable changes in both mind and body. An immense increase in QI changed my personality more than I would like to admit and being put into an infant's body was akin to body horror. That is without counting the numerous attempts on my life after the world learned of my genius.

My intelligence increased, my willpower is still that of a teenager.

Even with all my advantages I am still scared. No single humam should bear the weight that I have to bear, but I still do. My motivations can be resumed into a single frase:

"Afraid of death but awed by the possibilities." I think out loud, making my father look at me with a mix of pride and sadness.

"Never forget that you can count on us for whatever you need." He says and I smile.

This new life will be full of challenges, but I have those I can count on.

And thus, Saiki's quest for survival begins!

Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
