Chapter 5 The Artemis Lounge

Soft music played in a room that had a mystical glow to it caused by the lighting, almost as if the moon was shining down on it from above.

This was the Artemis Lounge and unlike other rooms in the club it was not filled with loud music and a huge dance floor.

As the goddess of the moon and the hunt this room was more tranquil and peaceful.

People sat around on large sofas talking to each other in low voices while other couples danced slowly on the small dance floor.

Mike who had arrived earlier was already working behind the bar serving customers.

Upon arrival he was met by Tommy who took the chance to show him around the club while Sophie was busy in the office.

"So what do you think" Tommy asked with a smug grin.

Mike had to admit that the club was very well done and high class, it had all the latest equipment and a high security presence to keep order.

It stocked all the necessary beverages in each bar including some very rare and hard to acquire drinks.

Mikes favorite part had to be the pool in the basement, it was just like a holiday resort pool with sun loungers and mats for people to lie on when they were not in the pool.

Which Mike noticed had a bar in the middle where clientele could get drinks.

"I got to say it's very well done and I can see it doing very well" Mike replied.

"I know right, the owner spared no expense and it really shows."

"So as I said yesterday I will set you up in the Artemis Lounge as it's a more peaceful lounge and away from the stage where everyone with gather for Lexi's performance." Tommy explained.

"Sure but are you certain Sophie won't come round? Mike questioned.

"Not unless some serious emergency pops up, it's already been planned that she plans to spend most of the time accompanying Miss Silver the owner."

Mike nodded in understanding as they both entered the Artemis Lounge

(Not bad) Mike thought.

"Well you know the drill I will leave you to it and try to have fun will you" Tommy laughed as he slapped Mike's back and left to sort out other business.

Back to the present and Mike was busy serving drinks, even tho it's had been a couple of years since he last worked as a bartender he was not very rusty and it only took him a few minutes to get into his routine.

Mike was a just slightly above average guy in terms of looks, he had short brown hair with a small beard that he kept trimmed short.

He liked to keep active by jogging and doing basic exercises at home.

Most of the time he would not get much if any attention from women, in fact he seemed to get more attention from men to Tommy's amusement.

When he was behind the bar it was always different however, he always felt comfortable behind a bar and seemed to exude confidence as he served drinks.

That confidence along with the alcohol made him more interesting to the women in the lounge and many attempted to flirt with him or tease him by showing slightly more than they normally would.

Mike however remained calm the entire time and politely but professionally talked with the clientele before moving to the next customer to serve.

As it approached 8pm the music suddenly quietened down as a voice came over the speakers "ladies and gentlemen, the star of the night Lexi will soon begin her performance in the Apollo lounge."

As soon as the voice ended the music came back and as if by magic every customer stood up from their chairs or stopped dancing and moved towards the exit.

After only a couple of minutes Mike was totally alone in the bar.

"Damn Tommy was not kidding that Lexi can really pull a crowd" he said shaking his head.

Since he was alone Mike decided to change the music to this album he had been listening to recently and really liked, he figured it should be fine since the music still fit the atmosphere of the lounge.

As the music played he moved around the room and collected the empty glasses and plates of food to wash them before the customers returned after Lexi's show.

The Apollo lounge was full with cheering and dancing people as they watched Lexi on stage.

She was in her element it was like she was born for the stage with no one being able to pull their attention away.

As her latest song ended she once more addressed the crowd, "so are you enjoying the show?"

"YES" the crowd shouted and cheered causing Lexi to smile brightly.

"That's great to here but I need a little break so why don't you all hit the bar and re-hydrate as I go back stage and do the same, I will see you all again in a few."

As long left the stage to cheers and applause Jane passed her a towel and a bottle of water.

"You were great as always, how are you feeling?"

"I'm fine just a bit tired but I will manage if I find someplace quiet to rest for a bit."

"No worries head to your dressing room and relax and I will make sure that no one disturbs you."

"Thank you Jane." Alexia said with a Small smile.

As Alexia was heading to her dressing room to rest she suddenly experienced a short bought of dizziness.

It is unknown if it was luck or fate or maybe even the Goddess Aphrodite since there were in Olympus but instead of turning towards her dressing room the dizzy spell made Alexia turn in the opposite direction towards the Artemis Lounge.
