Chapter 7 - Working

It's been a week since school started, It was now the weekend and Kaito was at a cafe, working as a waiter, trying to earn some cash to buy the kids some toys for their next visit as well as help with the rent for the apartment, Aizawa and Hizashi said they they'd buy them and he didn't need to help with the rent but Kaito protesed, saying he wants to buy them with the money he earned himself and help pay since he was living with them as well, Aizawa and Hizashi eventually agreed, Kaito would regularly wear a blindfold that was black with a cresent moon in the middle, only taking it off at home or at school, not wanting to bother any customers with his odd colored eyes

He sees customers were trying to get a waiter, probably going to order, He walked towards them as he took his notepad and pen out from his pocket as he got ready to the his order "..hello, I'm Kaito Izumi and I'll be your waiter today, what can I get you started with.."

The customers looked up as Kaito realized that they were his classmates Denki Kaminari, Ejiro Kirishima, Sero Hanta, Mina Ashido and Kyoka Jiro

"Izumi-kun? You work here?" Mina said as he looked at him and smiled and got up to whispered to him "can we get a discount, y'know, since we're friends after all~?"

Kirishima placed his hand over Mina's mouth and pulled her back to her seat "I'm sorry about that Izumi-kun but why are you working here?"

"..I needed the money.. now do you guys want to order something..?" Kaito said as the group gave their orders to Kaito, Kaminari was oddly quiet and staring at Kaito a bit but Kaito didn't say anything, slightly staring at him, He turned to go get their orders but Kirishima, Sero, Mina and Jiro saw the silent staring and Mina smirked as she took her chair and moved it closer to Kaminari

"So.. what's with the silent staring Kamibro?" Mina asked as Kaminari blushed and nervously answered as the others listened in "I- I don't know what your talking about- I was just- I didn't expect Izumi-kun to be working here that's all besides we're just friends"

"Sus" Kirishima said as Jiro continued

"Totally sus" Jiro said as Sero continued

"Mega Sus" Sero said as they all looked at Kaminari as Kaito came back with Kaminari's order "..sorry I only managed to get Kaminari-kun's order.. give me a minute.." Kaito said as he gave Kaminari his order of chocolate cake and an iced tea

"..here.. an extra item on the house.." Kaito said as he gave Kaminari a Pikachu themed macaroons, Kaito walked away as Mina and the others looked at Kaminari as he took a bite of the macaroons first before anything else

"How are you so goddamn blind?? He likes you" Mina said as Kaminari chokes on his macaroon as he blushed and looks at Mina "Nope, We're just friends, seriously Mina, I absolutely do not like the mysterious hot water guy" Kaminari said not realizing that he just called Kaito hot as he takes a sip of his iced tea

"Did you just call Izumi-kun hot?" Sero asked as Kaminari choked on his drink as Kaito walked up and saw what happened, He took his handkerchief and gave it to Kaminari "..I'll go and get you another drink.." Kaito said as he puts the others snacks on the table infront of them and their iced teas, Kaito took the empty glass and left as Kaminari cleaned himself as Mina, Jiro, Kirishima and Sero stared at him and said in unison "He totally likes you"

"H- He doesn't.. I- I'm just sure he's being nice! That's all.." Kaminari said as he feels a hand on his shoulder, He looked up to see Kaito holding a bag with a shirt inside and another glass of iced tea

"..here your iced tea.. and change into this.. It's mine but you can have it.." Kaito said as Kaminari hears Mina and the others giggling as He looked at them with a 'cut it out' look

"You don't have to Izumi-kun! I'm fine, honestly, it's just a bit of a mess.."

"..I insist.." Kaito said as he slightly frowned as Kaminari saw this and sighed as he got up and took the bag and looked down, blushing a bit "..where's the restroom..?" Kaito pointed to the door down the hall going to the kitchen

Kaito goes to continue working as Mina quickly took her phone out and quickly made a GC without Kaito and Kaminari and texted what was happening right now, getting feedback as Kaminari walked back with an oversized black t-shirt as Kaminari sat down and saw Mina texting someone

"Who are you texting" Kaminari asked as Mina hid her phone "No one" Mina said as she smiled as Kaito arrived just in time, saving Mina as she silently thanked him, Kaito sat next to Kaminari as he took a macaroon and ate it ".. I'm on break.. so why not hangout a bit.."

Mina and Jiro smirked as they slowly nudged Kaminari and Kaito closer together as Kaminari blushed and looked at them with a 'You both are so dead after this' look as Kaito didn't really mind as everyone started talking about random things

Kaito and Kaminari were talking as Kaminari asked "Izumi-kun, I've been wondering how does your quirk work exactly? Like does it only work with water or..?"

Kaito answered "..my quirk doesn't have a name so I'm going to the hospital after this.. and my quirk works on water only, but I'm able to control anything as long as water is present but since I was on the clock I'm not allowed to use my quirk.. It's the rules but we're allowed to use our quirks to defend ourselves if there's any danger around.."

Kaito used his quirk to manipulate Kaminari's iced tea and moved it out of the glass and made a little bird, using the lemon as wings and mint as a small hair on it's head as Kaito manipulated it to look like it's flying around Kaminari as Kaito manipulated it back to his glass as he takes his phone out, seeing that he had a text from his boss

"..my boss upgaded my break into termination.. says they couldn't keep the part-timers anymore.. I'll pick up my last paycheck in my locker.." Kaito said as the group frowned at the sad news as Kaito sighed "..looks like I need to find a new job.. I'll go and get changed then I'm going to the hospital.. I'll see you guys at school.."

Kaito got up and went to the back as the mood was ruined, Kaminari and the others continued trying to keep the mood up as they see Kaito going to his bicycle and left, going to the hospital
