The next day…

"Heroics is often misunderstood by the public and even heroes-in-training to solely involve fighting villains and stopping criminals. But our work also often includes disaster relief or other miscellaneous civil service like responding to accidents." Aizawa began, with his usual stern gaze.

He continued, "As such, today's heroics training will be a little different than what you have experienced so far. The activity this time is rescue training! Preparing you for disaster relief, from fires to floods."

Aizawa then gestured to the walls that once again opened up to reveal the cases containing our hero costumes, "You can choose whether or not you want to wear your costumes, since some of them are ill-suited to this sort of activity. We'll be travelling to the training site by bus, so hurry up and let's get going."

With that, he called for Momo and I and gave us some instructions; things like gather the class in this location by this timing before he left.

Given that this was the first task Momo and I received since being voted into being deputy president and class president respectively, we took it seriously. I was in charge of whipping the boys to be on time while Momo managed the girls. Though truth be told the girls seemed much more manageable than the boisterous guys.

Regardless, we still managed to get the class to the bus very quickly.

Iida approached me in his full hero suit, sans his cool-looking helmet, "Should we arrange ourselves according to our seat numbers, class president?"

I waved him off, "Nah, I don't think that's necessary. Let people sit with who they wanna sit with, Iida. And could you not address me so formally? Makes me sound old haha."

"Roger!" He answered before saying to himself, "So keeping interactions casual and informal between classmates is a key point to leadership. I must remember this."

I looked at him bemusedly. Was he keeping track of my every action and word to learn how to be a good class president in the future? I'm flattered but not so sure I was the best role model for that. Different people had different leadership styles. Mine was more loose and casual unless the situation called for it, and from what I could see, Iida was the more prim and proper type.

My classmates started streaming in to the bus while Momo and I supervised them, though it did seem slightly unnecessary to me, I wanted to at least show sensei that I was taking my duties seriously.

Most of the class were wearing their hero costumes, with the only exception being Izuku who explained that his was still being repaired by the Support department. Once again, Iwas reminded of Bakugo's irresponsible actions that day.

The bus then started moving towards our location and somehow I ended up sitting next to Koji while Momo sat next to Kyoka, since those were the only two seats remaining.

"Y-your quirk would really come in handy when helping people during disasters huh, Yasuo?" Koji started. From my observations, Koji Koda is a naturally shy and quiet person, but he was also actually very kind-hearted and polite.

It seemed that I had been quietly looking at him for just a beat longer than usual and he began getting flustered, "I-I mean, s-since you could l-lift up rubble and unconscious people with y-your quirk."

I tried giving a comforting smile, "Ah, right. Yeah, that makes sense. Wouldn't your quirk be really useful in disaster relief situations as well?"

Koji looked down timidly, "A-all I can do is talk to animals. I don't think it will be particularly useful during disasters or even fighting v-villains."

I bumped his shoulder with a fist in a jovial manner, "That's ridiculous! Your Anivoice quirk can let you command any kind of animal, right? So tiny creatures like rats that can get into tight spaces or sea creatures during a flood, birds that can find civilians need rescuing – the possibilities are endless! I genuinely think your quirk is one of the most versatile in our class!"

He blushed at the praise, his previously air of self-deprecation fading away to some measure of self-confidence, "R-really? Y-you think so?"

I nodded with confidence, "Totally! And judging by the results of the Quirk Apprehension Test, you are also naturally strong. You should have more confidence in yourself! I think you will be a great pro-hero in the future."

"Thank you, Yasuo." He said, with a bright smile.

"Mm, no problem man."

From the other side of the bus, Tsuyu suddenly spoke up, "I generally say what's on my mind, Midoriya."

"Oh!? What is it, Tsuyu?" Izuku replied, slightly blushing at the mere fact that he was talking to a girl. That's cute.

"Your quirk… it resembles All Might." She divulged, smiling blankly at Izuku, although her expressions typically look like that because of her large eyes and wide mouth.

Izuku jumped in shock, a little suspicious in my opinion, "EH!? R-r-r-really? Nah, I mean, I…"

"Hold up, Tsuyu. All Might doesn't get hurt when he uses his quirk, though. They're already totally different in that respect." Eijiro pointed out.

"True," I added, "and All Might is like totally muscular too. Whereas Izuku is…" I left the rest of my words unsaid as those listening in to our conversation looked Izuku up and down. Although his physique wasn't the worst in class, he was still pretty scrawny when compared to the better built guys.

"No offense, but you really need to eat and work out more, Izuku." I concluded.

"A-ah, yeah I'm working on it heheh." He responded with a shy smile.

Eijiro continued, "But that sort of simple, strength-enhancement quirk is awesome! You can do lots of things with it! Not like my Hardening," He extended his forearm which solidified his skin into sharp edges, "I'm good in a fight, but otherwise it's real boring."

"I think that's pretty neat though. Your quirk's more than good enough to go pro!" Izuku complimented.

"But being a pro-hero is also all about popular appeal!" Yuga stated, "My Navel Laser is both cool and strong. Perfect for a pro-hero!"

Mina giggled and teased, "As long as you don't blow up your own stomach!"

"You wanna talk cool and strong? Then it has to be Yasuo, Todoroki and Bakugo!" Denki offered with a grin of his own.

"But Bakugo's way too unhinged. He'd never be popular." Tsuyu stated matter-of-factly.

Bakugo who had overheard her words growled angrily, screaming, "What'd you say, frog-face!?"

"See." Tsuyu added, pointing at the unhinged Bakugo, definitely proving her point.

"If your own classmates are saying that to you, then you should think how the media and public will react if you act like that in the future." I suggested to the Explosion quirk user. As far as combat talent went, Bakugo was top-grade.

It'd be a waste of his potential contribution to society if he was expelled because of his attitude in the future. As much as I didn't like the guy, I had to concede that he would be a capable hero if he had an attitude adjustment. If there was even a chance I could influence what kind of hero he was going to be in the future, then I would lose nothing by trying.

Naturally, my words went in one ear and out the other as Bakugo turned his glare at me, "Shut your face, ink-hair! Irrelevant things like media and the public, I don't give a shit about any of that! Regardless of what they say, I will still be the number 1 Hero in the future!"

I rolled my eyes as his retort, "Being number 1 is not just about strength, dumbass. Look at Endeavour. He has more than proven his reliability and strength with his track record of solved cases, but because he is always rude and aggressive, many get turned off by it. That's why All Might is number 1, and not him."

"Ah crap, sorry Todoroki. I was just-" I blanched as I remembered the son of the man I had just criticized was right there on the bus with us.

Shoto, who had tuned out the conversation previously but perked up upon hearing his father's name, shook his head, "No, its okay. It's the truth. He's the forever number 2 after all."

"O-oh, okay then." Was he slightly smiling or am I mistaken? What kid would smile after hearing someone else talk shit about their dad?

"But Yasuo's quirk is definitely flashy and powerful."Eijiro said, "I still remember the Entrance Exam… He lifted up like fifty faux villains and crushed them all at once. THAT'S PLUS ULTRA MANLY!"

Aizawa, from the front of the bus turned back and glared, "Keep it down! You're too noisy! Look sharp, we're reaching soon."

Sure enough, within a few minutes we were turning into a large dome structure. Once we alighted the bus and entered the building, we were greeted by an amusement-park like venue that looked to be simulating different disaster scenarios.

We were also greeted by someone wearing an astronaut like costume, with an accompanying glass helmet and puffy suit. "The Unforeseen Simulation Joint!" He introduced to us.

"It's the Space Hero: Thirteen!! He's a gentleman hero who does his best work in rescue scenarios!" Izuku cried out in excitement with Ochaco right next to him fangirling over the hero as well.

Aizawa approached him and they looked to be discussing something, perhaps some secret rules to our training? If only I could hear voices with my Psychic Sense, that would be super useful…

Wait, even though I can't hear sounds, I can still sense the movement of their lips. If I could learn to read lips, then…

As I was musing about different ways to expand the limitations of my Psychic Sense, Thirteen approached us and he began explaining what U.A. was trying to teach us with today's lesson.

"In today's superpowered society, the use of quirks is heavily monitored and restricted. It may seem that this system is a stable one, but we must never forget that it only takes one wrong move with an uncontrolled quirk for people to die." He expounded.

It was a point that hit particularly hard with me. Ever since I awoken my quirk, my parents and the doctors at the Quirk Assessment Centre had repeatedly reinforced that with me. It might sound ridiculous to others, but I could understand their concern. A five year old with the ability to crush a person with just a thought, how terrifying was that?

Which is why I had taken the time to learn control. The knowledge that at any time I could possibly kill someone or even multiple people if I ever lost control… it was a heavy burden. But at the same time, after that villain incident when I was 14, I was also reminded that I had the responsibility to put my powers to good use. Because all that is needed for evil to triumph is for the good to do nothing.

"This class will show you a new perspective!" Thirteen continued, "You will learn how to save lives by utilizing your quirks. If there is only one thing you gain from today's lesson, let it be this: your powers are not meant to inflict harm, it is meant to help people! That is all. I thank you for listening!"

The class clapped and cheered. Although the speech did seem slightly rehearsed, I'm sure it still struck a chord in all of us. Even Bakugo, the violent brute looked like he had taken those words into mind. So he listens when it's Thirteen or another teacher, but yell at me when I say something? I guess that's the charisma of a pro-hero, huh?

Aizawa then took over, "Great. First off…"

He paused, as if distracted by something. He turned back and looked down from the railing at the main square of the USJ for a moment before his eyes widened.

"HUDDLE UP AND DON'T MOVE!" Aizawa hurriedly shouted, "Thirteen! Protect the students!"

We rushed forward, to see just what he was talking about. And below us, we could see a dark fog spread out across the ground. And from that dark fog, several people were walking out of it. There were all dressed in different costumes, and their appearance ranged from the unassuming to brutal looking gear.

Ah, so this is that type of scenario then? A battle training disguised as a rescue training? After that whole speech? How sly of you, U.A. But these faculty members do perhaps look a little too villainous, don't they? They must be method actors, I assumed.

"What the heck is that? More robots like in the Entrance Exam? They look different." Eijiro observed.

"Don't move! Those are… Villains!" Aizawa shouted back, putting on his goggles like he was getting ready for a fight.

Huh…? Was he being serious or is this another one of his 'rational deceptions'? But come to think of it, the people that was slowly gathering below us… they did not look at all like they came here to train students.

In fact, they looked like… evil unleashed!
