All MHA/Marvel characters and original storyline belong to Kohei Horikoshi and Martin Goodman/Stan lee respectively. I do not own the cover artwork used on this FanFic either.

Chapter 7: Four-eyes || 1.6k Words

|| UA High school || February 26, 8:30am ||

Logan hated waiting. He always restless, impatient and bored. He wanted to be active, to do something productive or exciting. That's why he had arrived at UA high school an hour earlier than the scheduled time for the practical exams. He thought it would be a good idea to get a sense of the environment and check out the other applicants. He was confident in his abilities and eager to show them off.

He walked up to the school gate and showed his Examination ticket to the security guard, who nodded and let him in.

' Now what? '

He looked around and saw a huge red arrow pointing to the right, with a small creature that looked like a cross between a rat, a dog, and a bear sitting on top of it.

The arrow had the words "THIS WAY YOUNG HEROS!" written in large red letters.

Logan rolled his eyes.

He wasn't interested in following directions. He was going to get admitted anyway, so what did it matter if he took a sneak peek at the campus before the exam?

He turned left and started to explore the school grounds, ignoring the signs and warnings that told him to stay on the designated path.

He wanted to see what UA high school had to offer, and maybe cure his boredom along the way.

Logan was so engrossed in exploring the campus that he lost track of time. He didn't notice the announcements that reminded the applicants to head to the auditorium for the orientation. He didn't see the other students walking past him, wearing nervous or excited expressions. He didn't hear the clock ticking closer to the start of the exam.

He was too busy admiring the facilities, trying out the gadgets, and testing his skills.

He was about to enter a building that looked like a giant robot when he heard a loud siren. He stopped and looked around, confused. He saw a sign that read "U.A.'s Hero Course Entrance Exam" and realized that he had wandered into the wrong area. He checked his watch and gasped. It was 9:24 am.

The orientation was starting in six minutes!

He cursed and ran back to the gate, hoping that he could still make it to the auditorium. He dodged the security guards, who shouted at him to stop. He ignored the signs, which warned him of danger. He sprinted across the campus, which seemed much bigger than before.

He reached the auditorium at 9:27 am.

Pushing the door open, logan saw of students sitting in rows of seats, staring nervously at a man on stage. The man was wearing a suit and a tie, and had a microphone in his hand. He had spiky blond hair and red eyes, and looked familiar to Logan.

He was Present Mic, one of the pro heroes and teachers at U.A.

Not wasting another second, Logan quickly scanned the room for an empty seat and found one near the back. He walked towards it, ignoring the hard gazes of hundreds of students.

Why were they staring at him so intensely?

If anything he was early!

Sighing as he sat down, Logan adjusted his sunglasses and leaned back into his chair.

Five minutes.

He just had to wait five minutes without falling asleep…

>> Five agonizingly long minutes later <<<

"Welcome to U.A.'s Hero Course Entrance Exam!" Present Mic said in a loud and cheerful voice, making Logan flinch. Why the hell was this guy so loud?! He sounded like he was shouting into a megaphone, even though he had a microphone in his hand. "I'm your MC for today, Present Mic! And I'm here to tell you everything you need to know about this exam!"

"EVERYBODY SAY HEY!" he said, raising his hand.

There was silence. No one said anything. Everyone just stared at him, blankly or nervously.

That was brutal. Logan felt a pang of secondhand embarrassment for the guy. He wondered how he could be so enthusiastic and oblivious.

"Hard to please crowd! I like it!" Present Mic said, unfazed by the lack of response. He continued on with his explanation of the entrance exam. The entrance exam would take place in two parts over the course of four hours. The first part, a two and a half hour written test that would measure the applicants' knowledge and intelligence, the second part, a practical test that would measure their skills and abilities with a 30 minute intermission in between. The practical test would take place in a simulated urban area, where the applicants would have to fight against robotic villains and rescue civilians. The applicants would be divided into groups and each group would have a different time slot and location for the practical test. The applicants would be scored based on how many villains they defeated and how many civilians they saved, as well as their overall performance and behavior. The top scorers from each group would pass the exam and be admitted to U.A. High School.

Present Mic then showed a video of the robotic villains that the applicants would face in the practical test. He said that there were three types of robots, each with a different point value and difficulty level. The first type was a one-point robot, which was small and weak, but also fast and agile. The second type was a two-point robot, which was bigger and stronger, but also slower and clumsier. The third type was a three-point robot, a combination of the first two robots that was both strong and agile.

As Present Mic was speaking, a stiff boy with short black hair and glasses stood up. He was Tenya Iida, one of the applicants.

"May I ask a question?!?" Iida yelled as he stood up and raised his hand.

Present Mic paused the video and looked at the boy. "Okay."

"On the printout, there are four types of villains," Ida said in a polite but firm voice. "If this is a misprint, then U.A., the most prominent school in Japan should be ashamed!"

Present Mic chuckled nervously. "Ah, no, it's not a misprint," he said. "There is indeed a fourth type of villain, but it's a secret. It only appears in rare occasions, and has a very high point value. But I can't tell you more than that. You'll have to find out for yourself in the exam!"

Ida nodded, satisfied with the answer. He sat down and looked at his printout again.

"And you two there!" he suddenly turned and pointed to a green-haired kid Logan couldn't make out in the crowd. "You have been muttering to yourself this whole time! It's distracting! If you're here for a pleasure trip, then you should leave immediately!"

The green-haired kid looked startled and scared. He mumbled something that Logan couldn't hear.

"And you!" Ida turned to a black-haired youth who was wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses.

'Is he pointing at me?' Logan thought.

"How could you arrive at this orientation so late and still have the audacity to put your feet on the table! Have some respect for Present Mic and your fellow peers!" Iida shouted.

'This is interesting...'

Logan shot his feet down and slammed his hands on the table, if he wanted to do this he'd have to do it right…

"What's it to you four eyes?" Logan sneered as he stared at Iida's uptight figure. "If anything I was early."

"How dare you!" he exclaimed. "Even so this is no way to be acting at such a prestigious institution such as U.A.! You are being very arrogant and disrespectful! You are not fit to be a hero! You are not fit to be a student at U.A.! You should be ashamed of yourself!"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Logan said, waving his hand. "Save your breath. You're wasting your time and mine. Why don't you focus on your own exam and leave me alone?"

The two boys glared at each other, sparks flying between them.

"Okay okay, examine number 7111-kun. Thank you for the great message." Present Mic said

"The fourth type of villainis worth zero points. It's an so to speak. An obstacle that will go crazy in narrow places. It is not impossible to defeat, but there's is no reason to, either. There will be one of them in each battle center. I recommend avoiding it…"

"Thank you very much, please excuse my interruption." Lida said bowing his head.

"Finally, I'll give you listeners a little present- Out school motto" Present Mic said readying his thoughts.

"The hero Napoleon Bonaparte once said: 'A true hero is someone that overcomes life's misfortunes. PLUS ULTRA." Present Mic concluded with his hands in the air

Leaving the room, Logan made his way to battle center A. He thought of hiding his power but decided against the idea. What would all the training he's done be for then?

Finally, Logan arrived at the gate. His aura exuding confidence.

"Okay, STAART" Present Mic yelled into the speakers.
