Chapter 137:- Obstacle Race

The day of the sports festival arrived, UA Sports Festival kicked off with an electrifying atmosphere. The stadium was filled with cheering fans, parents, and pro heroes. All eyes were on the students of Class 1A and 1B along with all the other departments as they gathered on the field, nerves and excitement palpable in the air.

The audience eagerly awaited the commencement of the event. In the VIP section, the Pro Heroes were seated, showcasing a spectrum of emotions and interactions.

Closest to the front row was Edgeshot, his sharp eyes focused on the stadium. Next to him, Mirko, the Rabbit Hero, exuded an air of confidence, her powerful presence undeniable.

Hawks, with his laid-back demeanor, casually occupied a seat, seemingly absorbed in the upcoming spectacle.

The top 10 Pro Heroes, were scattered throughout the VIP area. Cementoss, with his stony exterior, exchanged a few words with Kamui Woods. Crust, looking stoic as ever, sat beside them. The charismatic and ever-smiling Wash shared a joke with Gang Orca, showcasing camaraderie among the heroes.

Inko Yagi, with a concerned look on her face, sat in the stands, eagerly looking for her son, Kazuki, who was having a tough time since USJ, and the speculation that Izuku might be alive had made Kazuki very worried.

Something Inko didn't like at all as she thought, 'Even after all this time, you still won't stop ruining our lives, first, you brought me shame among my neighbors by being born quirkless, and then you hurt my reputation and standing in society by involving the police and UA management, due to which Kazuki's admission in UA which would have gone smoothly before, was filled with so many hardships.

He didn't even get time to train his quirk properly, had to waste time doing charity, you even took my husband away from me, and now because of you I can't even spend a minute with my family.

Couldn't you have just died the second you were born, or when you found out that you were quirkless, why won't you leave my family and me alone you worthless piece of shit,' Inko's expression changed from worry for Kazuki to disgust for Izuku, to the point she wanted him dead

Mitsuki Bakugo, on the other hand, had a fierce look, her eyes locked on the arena, likely anticipating what was going to happen and how his worthless piece of a son was going to perform in the sports festival.

Fuyumi Todoroki, in the stands, seemed half-hearted, her gaze wandering as she saw all sorts of heroes having a happy and enthusiastic look on their faces.

She thought, 'What a waste, had they shown this much enthusiasm in finding Izuku, they would have found him, after a year I finally got hope that he's alive, and what do these heroes do, rather than searching for him, here they are enjoying a stupid sports festival.

Ugh! whom am I even expecting things from, pro heroes are useless as hell, and I have to sit and see kids play around, what a waste of time, once Shoto gets eliminated from the sports festival, I'll start looking for Izuku' thought Fuyumi as she nodded to herself, her vigor and enthusiasm increased now that she knows Izuku is alive.

Endeavor stood in the shadows, observing the proceedings with a solemn look on his face.

Aizawa and Vlad King stood at the center, overseeing the event. Aizawa, his usual chaotic self, addressed the students. "Welcome to the UA Sports Festival! In the past year, we've faced lots of challenges, but we won't let them bring us down.

This festival is more than just a competition; it's a chance for you students to show your abilities and growth. It's a way to prove that we heroes both the current ones and the new age heroes, can handle whatever comes our way. Let the games begin!"

Following this was the mandatory speech of the best student that is Toji, "I'll Win," said Toji as he threw the mic behind him and came near his classmates.

Of course, this caused a huge chaos amongst the students as all of them wanted to be the winner.

After the chaos ended, the first round was announced to be the obstacle race. The students, brimming with enthusiasm, dashed toward the starting line, ready to conquer the challenging course that awaited them.

The obstacle race showcased various hurdles, from iron spikes to zero-pointer robots and landmines. Students navigated through the obstacles, displaying a range of quirks and strategies to outpace their competitors.

The first of the obstacles the students faced was the Iron Spikes Section where the most notable were Iida and Denki, Iida utilized his Engine quirk, Iida accelerated through the iron spikes with incredible speed, dodging the protruding obstacles effortlessly, even before they could appear.

While Denki electrified the spikes mechanism, Denki created a temporary path, allowing him and a few others to traverse the section unharmed.

Next were the Zero-Pointer Robots where Todoroki used his ice powers, and froze the robots in their tracks, creating an ice bridge for himself and his fellow competitors.

While Kirishima unleashed his hardened form, as he ploughed through the robots, using his durability to bulldoze the obstacles.

The next obstacle they faced was the Landmine Zone: where Mina manipulated the acid she secretes, and neutralized the landmines in her path, dissolving them before they could pose a threat.

While Tokoyami was using Dark Shadow as a shield, Tokoyami flew above the landmines along with a few of his classmates.

The audience was quite fascinated at seeing how well coordinated the students were and were even helping fellow students even if it was a competition.

They were quite pleased as well seeing that the kids showed signs of how a hero should be.

The next difficulty that the students faced was explosive barrels where Bakugo using his explosive quirk, propelled himself forward, detonating the barrels strategically to clear a path and gain a significant lead.

In the Hidden Pitfalls Tsuyu with her frog-like agility, detected the hidden pitfalls, effortlessly leaping over them using her powerful leg muscles while using her tongue to save her comrades who couldn't identify the pitfalls and were about to fall.

Even someone like Mineta came of use by employing his sticky balls, he created a makeshift foothold, allowing him and other participants to navigate the pitfalls with strategic jumps.

The final obstacle that they faced was the Rope Climb where Ochako, using her gravity-altering quirk, lightened herself and ascended the rope with ease, showcasing both finesse and speed.

Among the crowd, Maki and Momo stood out the most as they demonstrated exceptional teamwork. Coordinating their abilities, Maki's agility and Momo's versatile quirk and strategic thinking allowed them to effortlessly tackle each obstacle, swiftly advancing through the race.

In the Iron Spikes Section, Momo quickly analyzes the situation and creates a series of shields and barriers using her quirk to block the iron spikes' path. This not only cleared a safe route for her and Maki but also helped other competitors follow them.

To face the Zero-Pointer Robots, Maki using her strength enhanced by Izuku, swiftly dismantled some of the robots, reducing the overall threat. Meanwhile, Momo crafted a small emp device which rendered the robots useless.

And since the rest of the obstacles were ground-related Momo created a jetpack, wore it, and held Maki in her embrace as they flew towards the finish line ignoring all the obstacles.

Throughout the obstacle race, Momo's strategic thinking and Maki's physical prowess complemented each other seamlessly. Their collaboration not only propelled them forward but also demonstrated the power of teamwork in overcoming diverse challenges.

The audience and other competitors couldn't help but be impressed by their synchronized efforts.

Well, the audience also felt a bit weird as Momo and Maki were only concerned with helping each other, and unlike the others who tried helping each other, they just ignored everything else and focused on themselves.

Meanwhile, Toji stood at the starting point, seemingly unperturbed by the chaos around him. This caught the eye of the Present Mic who was doing commentary, and with his loud voice.

Who brought it to everyone's attention, as murmurs spread around the stadium regarding how cocky and arrogant Toji is to announce he will win when he hasn't moved an inch in the first round.

As the first two contestants namely Maki and Momo were about to reach the finish line, Toji nonchalantly teleported, securing an unexpected victory for himself. The move left onlookers puzzled, unable to comprehend Toji's seemingly counterintuitive strategy.

Comments echoed through the stadium, creating a buzz of confusion and amazement. Spectators, teachers, and fellow students exchanged perplexed remarks as they tried to make sense of Toji's unorthodox approach.

The unexpected win sparked conversations among the audience, each expressing their surprise and curiosity.

The teachers, observing the spectacle, shared glances of intrigue and amusement. Toji's unconventional victory became a topic of discussion among the staff, adding an unexpected twist to the obstacle race.

At the same time, the students were annoyed, as it felt like all their efforts were a joke, as Toji did all the pass time he could, and when Momo and Maki were about to win, Toji took victory from them as if it was the most natural thing.

All the students had looks of envy towards Toji who won so easily as they cursed his quirk, while Maki and Momo had a smile on their faces.

Of course, they knew what Izuku was going to do, infact Izuku had even offered them to come with him but they wanted to show Izuku the fruits of their labor, so they declined his help.

The scorecard after the first competition was Izuku on top, followed by Momo and Maki followed by other students of class 1A and class 1B, and 2 students from other courses, namely Hitoshi Shinso and Mei Hatsume

Now was time for the second round, which was a cavalry battle.
