Ch. 32 - The Ancient One

*Bam!*

Seeing the door being slammed in front of him, Doflamingo was shellshocked.

Although he was already expecting a refusal, but he can't believe that he was rejected with a simple word and the door slamming right in front of his face.

~5 minutes earlier~

While Doflamingo was driving, he was also singing along with the song.

This is actually one of his favourite songs in his past life, and he can't believe that it also existed in this world, so he was pretty much happy it existed.

[A/N: It was my favourite song, so I decided to also make it Doflamingo's favourite song. Lol]

After a long hour drive, Doflamingo parked his car near the Sanctum, and walked on the sidewalk until he reached the front doors of the Sanctum.

"Alright, this would be easy, if I play my cards right." Doflamingo cracked his neck and fingers before knocking on the door.

*Knock* x3

After a few seconds, the door opened and a unfamiliar caucasian man opened the door and and looked at him confusedly.

"May I help you?" The man asked.

Doflamingo fixed his attire and inquired.

"May I learn some Magic?" Doflamingo respectfully asked.

"....No." Looking at him weirdly, the caucasian man refused and slammed the door in front of his face without saying another word.

"....Eh?"

Doflamingo was back sitting on his car as he was contemplating about his life.

"I got rejected? I thought the Ancient One would know about me, after all, she has the Time Stone right? She should have predicted my arrival." Doflamingo was thinking on whether the Ancient One has predicted him or not.

"Do I really have to go to Kamar Taj in Nepal?" Doflamingo was rubbing his temples as he realized that this journey of his would be much harder than he thought.

*Knock* x2

The caucasian man earlier, knocked on a thin wooden door.

"Come in." A female voice sounded out inside as the Caucasian man entered.

"Ah, Master John, how may I help you?" A bald headed female was brewing her tea as she greeted the causacian man, who is now known as Master John.

"Ancient One." Master John bowed his head in respect as Ancient One gestured him to raise his head.

"What is it that you need my presence, Master John." Ancient One asked.

"There's a man outside who asked to learn Magic. I wanted to ask if have you already known about this?" Master John asked as Ancient One frowned.

"Give me a minute, Master John." Ancient One then disappeared from a portal.

After exactly 60 seconds, Ancient One came back and said.

"Let's meet the man, shall we." She said as Master John bowed his head again and opened the same portal that leads back to the New York Sanctum.

"Alright, change of plans. Looks like I'm gonna need Matilda to make me a passport so, I could g-." Inside his car, Doflamingo was already making his plans when his surroundings suddenly changed to a dark and secluded environment.

Doflamingo's eyes widened, his Observation Haki didn't even perceive anything when he was suddenly transfered here.

"You must be Doflamingo." He heard a voice and turned around.

His eyes widened when he saw a familiar face, a face that he has been looking for.

"I assume you know me. Let us skip the introduction and proceed to what you have came here for." The Ancient One didn't even let him speak before stating several words making him swallow the words back on his mouth.

"I want to lea-."

"Why do want to learn Magic. From my observations, you are cold-blooded, you have no remorse on the people you kill." Ancient One said, making Doflamingo a bit uncomfortable. He thought that it would be easy like he read in the fanfics, but it turns out to be much more harder than he thought.

"The ones I kill better off dead than alive in this world, you know this." Doflamingo said as far as he remembers, those that he killed are the people with heavy sins, like Trunchbull, who abuses children and probably already killed one, without anyone knowing.

"...." Ancient One didn't say anything and just continued sipping on her tea, making the atmosphere a bit awkward.

After a few minutes of awkward waiting, Ancient One has finally talked.

"I will teach you magic. In exchange that you won't use them to do something unpleasant." Surprisingly, Ancient One agreed, which shocked Doflamingo.

'Perhaps she was testing me? Well, good thing I passed.' Doflamingo said to himself, not knowing how wet his back is from sweating due to nervousness.

Although Ancient One's apppearance doesn't look that much scary, but her aura, or you could say, her presence screams how strong she is.

"So, when are we gonna start?" Despite this, Doflamingo got excited so he asks.

"Now." Ancient One said and before Doflamingo could react, a portal opens up on where he is sitting, causing him to fall into the ground on the training grounds.

The rest of the trainees stopped what they're doing and stared at the newcomer.

A black man wearing a green robe came to him and helped him stand up.

"Who are you?" The black man glanced at the portal that has closed and seeing a familiar room, he already knew who sent Doflamingo here.

"I'm Doflamingo. You can call me Doffy." Doflamingo said and offered to shake hands.

"Get in the line." Without even bothering on his hand, the black man gestured for him through the movement of his head, leaving his hand hanging.

"....Okay." Doflamingo awkwardly took his hand back before doing as told and got in the line.

"We have a new student. Be kind to him." The black man yelled as the rest of the trainees turned their bodies towards Doflamingo and bowed before returning back to the black man.

Doflamingo nodded at them, he also noticed that his clothes has changed similar to those other students, indicating that he also became a student here.

'If I'm not wrong, I'm in Kamar-Taj right now. And all it took is a second for me to come here. Magic is indeed something I need to learn.' Doflamingo thought to himself as the black man yelled again.

"Stance!"

The other students then changed their posture, which Doflamingo awkwardly followed suit.

'If my memories serve me right, that guy is Master Mordo, he looked younger than portrayed in the movie, not to mention, he became a Master at such a young age? No wonder he seems to be Ancient One's second favourite, with Strange occupying the first.' Doflamingo thought to himself as Mordo issued another command.

"Find yourself a partner, specifically someone beside you."

As they did so, Doflamingo found himself faced with a redhead woman.

"Hey there." Doflamingo greeted her but was met with a cold look.

'What's with her?' Doflamingo felt put of place as everyone here treated him as if he was a nobody, which he doesn't like but at the same time, he liked it.

"You will fight with your partners. Now!" Mordo said and suddenly, the woman in front of Doflamingo attacked him without saying a word.

Luckily, Doflamingo has his Observation Haki, so he dodged her punch in time.

"Woah, easy girl." Doflamingo casually said which seems to anger the woman as her attacks started going faster and aggressive.

However, all of this was for naught as Doflamingo's fast reflexes and Observation Haki were working together at the same time.

"Fight me back, coward!" Finally, the woman yelled at him.

"Sigh, women." Doflamingo shook his head and dodged the fist of the girl for the last time and before she could respond, Doflamingo grabbed her hand and threw her off over his shoulder.

*Bam!*

The girl fell on the concrete ground with a surprise and exasperated look on her face.

"You brought it upon yourself. Don't blame me." Doflamingo whispered with a shrug, meanwhile the girl heard him which further angers her.

"Haaahhh!" Suddenly, she stood up and an orange flickering light appeared in her hand that seems to form whip.

*Slap!*

She then attacked Doflamingo with the whip, forming a cracking sound as she did so.

Fortunately, Doflamingo was very fast or else he'll probably have an injury on his face.

"Woah, girl, chill! Ey chill!" Doflamingo tried to look at Mordo but he seems to just stand on the corner watching the fight without any motive to stop the fight.

"Damn it." Doflamingo cursed under his breath as he decided to fight the girl back, but it seems like she was empowered or something as he can't get to her without risking being slapped by her whip.

'Sigh, I guess I have to reveal some of my cards.' Doflamingo knew he can't win this with just his physical skills alone, so he had to resort to fight with some of his skills.

Doflamingo's whole arm suddenly goes black and he grabbed the whip like it was nothing.

Shock showed on everyone's faces including Mordo.

Before the girl could react, Doflamingo pulled the whip which causes her to stumble and be thrown towards Doflamingo, with her face facing in front.

*Bam!*

Without hesitation, Doflamingo punched the woman's face without any shred of mercy.

The woman fell on the ground with blood on her face. From the looks of it, she has passed out.

Luckily for her, Doflamingo didn't use his Armament Haki to punch her in the face. He's afraid that she might turn dumber if he did that.

And besides, he respects women.
