CHAPTER 13
After having her breakfast, Ana decided to roam around the territory of Redson.
Along with Prinnx who Ana insisted to be her guide, there are also Riegne and Gabriel who are both attending Ana and protecting her.
Redson wants to come along, but because of his mountainous paperwork, he was forced to stay at the castle, leaving Ana with the two men who smelled similarly with him.
Redson knows what is the reason for it. And because he is not alone, he feel threatened.
A loud bang that caused the office table of Redson cracked was heard by the whole castle. The earth shook and the chandeliers started to sway. The people inside the castle trembled because of it. Because they know that it isn't any feral beasts who is running amok, but their Alpha himself.
Those who do not know the reason trembled for as to it may be because of them why Redson is acting like that. And those who knows the reason especially Theodore, just shook their head and can't help but to worry for Redson because of his unpredictable temper.
While at tour, Ana noticed a deserted house in the middle of the woods.
The Beast Territory is mostly composed with trees and forest. One of it's reasons is because in the territory, the lycans or werewolves have a greater number than the other races of beasts in the territory. And also, it acts as their natural defense against the other tribes who have ill-intention against the beast men.
The abandoned house is made with stone bricks. It can tell that it's old enough compared to the Saintess who is looking at it dreamily. Prinnx noticed that and followed her gaze, just to see the old house of the Meyer's, the house where Redson was born.
They walked down the path towards it. There are branches on it, with some bricks falling down from the structure, but there are also some bricks that are still holding up in hope that one day, their last owner will repair them to their former glory. Dust are all around, twigs, woods and there are also bugs that scatters around.
Ana entered it and only heard her own footsteps by the echo that are being made by the whole place.
Ana, despite of seeing such desolate place is amazed in what she can only see. No one among her company can understand it, but without using their eyes, they can feel the history of the house.
"Whose house is this?" Ana asked.
"It's beautiful." She added.
Prinnx gasped after hearing such comment. He do not know if it's an absurd comment or an insult, which he knows that Ana will not commit. He just sighed and then looked down before answering.
"This is... This was the Alpha's parents home. Our... Home." Prinnx said in a low voice.
"Your home?" Ana asked.
"Yes. I am an illegitimate child of the former Alpha. I am so ashamed to say such thing. Because all my mother caused to their harmonious family is nothing but... Lamentable happenings." Prinnx said.
"If I am not mistaken, you are a Hybrid of a Human's and Beast's, right?" Gabriel asked.
Prinnx gasped once again that Ana noticed. Ana glared at Gabriel who raised his hands as a proof of his innocence.
"All I want to say is that, you are a Hybrid and your stepbrother is also one but because his Beast's blood is more dominant, and powerful compared to you, that's why you are being discriminated, right? I don't mean to be rude to you but, if you are really his brother despite of that happenings, you shouldn't be here or lurking into the shadows and be beaten up by his people! Please do not misunderstand my intentions." Gabriel explained himself in fear of offending not Prinnx but Ana who is obviously overprotective towards the latter.
Prinnx just sighed and looked up to them with a smile.
"It's alright. I know my place from the start. It's just that, I can't leave my brother alone. I insisted on this and chose the path that is full of thorn. But at the end of the day, I won't stop giving him my aid even though he don't need it at all." Prinnx said.
Despite of those light words from Prinnx, Ana can't help but to feel the heaviness of it.
"Why? Why are you sacrificing so much for him? I don't understand!" Ana asked confusedly.
Prinnx smiled more brightly and replied, "because he is my family."
Time has passed. Prinnx gave them a tour inside the house that can still be accessed despite of the condition. Gabriel and Riegne are amazed on the history of the house that is being told by Prinnx. While the Saintess was left there on their side, watching them, and Prinnx to be more specifically. She can't help but to wonder why Prinnx is like this.
The tour ended and they finally found a big Oak tree to take a breather before returning to the castle.
Gabriel and Prinnx began to help each other to prepare their snacks while Riegne is preparing their place and Ana, who is resting with some little animals surrounding and watching her.
Riegne looked to the two gentlemen who are still busy preparing and chatting before she approached the Saintess.
"Master taught me that everyone has their own rights. Whether it is the right to be happy, right to be sad, right to be loved, right to be hated and right to be angry. Everyone are created with those rights along with their right to live and die. But... Why?" Ana is obviously frustrated for the thing she do not understand.
"Why do he need to endure that and prioritize the Beast Lord who do not even bat an eye towards his brother? Why do he feel no anger towards him even though he have the right to do so? I don't understand it at all." Ana asked, confused.
"Well, what Lord Maximilian said is true. But you forgot that we also have the right to deny and choose. And those decision, they needed to be respected despite on how illogical it is to others. You are not a perfect person, your holiness. Because the only way for you to be perfect, is to learn. And this is your very first lesson in your one hundred year journey in the lower world. Take your time, because you still have a long way to go." Riegne said while combing Ana's hair with her hands. With that, Ana finally understood that her journey has just begun.
