Xandar trembled beneath the weight of chaos. What had once been a beacon of peace and order in the cosmos was now a battlefield where the fate of the universe hung in the balance. The Vanguards had come, Earth's mightiest heroes, united under a new banner, but Ethan, now fully The Spot, was beyond anything they had faced before.
His control over the spotted dimension had evolved into a terrifying mastery. No longer did he need to move to summon portals; they rippled across his body like second nature, absorbing, redirecting, and unleashing destruction with terrifying ease.
The heroes spread out across the war-torn city, each engaging Ethan in their own way, determined to stop him before he could tear Xandar, and perhaps the universe, apart.

Tony Stark and Rhodey: The Sky Assault
High above the crumbling skyline, Tony Stark and Rhodey in his War Machine armor soared through the sky, weaving between collapsing buildings and energy blasts. Tony's new nanotech suit shimmered in the light, its adaptive technology shifting on the fly to counter each of Ethan's attacks. Rhodey's War Machine armor, reinforced with vibranium, unleashed a relentless barrage of missiles and energy beams, attempting to overwhelm The Spot from a distance.
But Ethan's portals opened and closed with impossible speed, effortlessly swallowing the incoming fire and redirecting it back toward the two heroes.
"We need to shut those portals down, or we're just fighting ourselves!" Rhodey called out over the comms, dodging a missile that had been redirected by Ethan back toward them.
"Already working on it," Tony replied, his voice tight with focus. His HUD flickered with information as he activated a new protocol. "JARVIS, execute Gridlock Protocol."
Immediately, small drones detached from Tony's suit and darted through the air, forming a shimmering grid of energy that began to close in around Ethan. The drones emitted pulses of energy designed to scramble his portals, destabilizing their structure.
For a moment, Ethan's black circles flickered, his control slipping just enough for Rhodey to fire a concentrated energy beam. It struck The Spot square in the chest, sending him crashing through the ruins of a building.
But Ethan recovered instantly. His black circles expanded across his body, absorbing the impact. He hovered above the wreckage, eyes narrowing. "You think that can stop me?"
He lifted his hand, and a portal opened directly in front of Rhodey, sucking him in. Rhodey's scream of frustration echoed through the comms before he was ejected from another portal miles away, crashing into the side of a shattered skyscraper.
"Rhodey!" Tony shouted, flying toward his friend, but another portal opened before him, swallowing him whole. Tony's heart pounded as he felt himself falling through the infinite void of the spotted dimension before re-emerging above the ground, slamming into a debris field.
....
On the ground, Captain America and Black Widow fought with the precision and efficiency that had made them legends. Steve Rogers' shield glinted in the dim light as he deflected debris and energy blasts. Natasha moved like a shadow, her upgraded vibranium suit enhancing her speed and agility.
As Ethan's portals flickered around them, Natasha and Steve worked in perfect sync. When a portal opened behind Steve, Natasha was already there, hurling a special baton into it, disrupting its energy long enough for Steve to hurl his shield at Ethan.
The shield cut through the air, bouncing between two buildings before ricocheting toward The Spot. Ethan extended his hand to open a portal and redirect it, but Natasha's baton had shorted his control for just a split second. The shield struck Ethan's side, sending him spinning through the air.
"Nice throw," Natasha said, smirking as she sprinted beside Steve.
"Thanks," Steve grunted, catching the shield mid-air. "But we need to push harder. He's adapting faster than we are."
Ethan, recovering in mid-air, opened a portal beneath himself, vanishing before reappearing above them. With a gesture, a series of black portals opened around Steve and Natasha, releasing waves of debris and energy blasts that forced them to dive for cover.
....
While the others battled with strategy and precision, Thor and Hulk unleashed raw, unstoppable power. The god of thunder and the green titan fought with the force of natural disasters, each of their strikes shaking the ground beneath them.
Thor flew into the sky, Mjölnir crackling with electricity. "Come, Spot! Face the wrath of Asgard!" With a mighty swing, he sent a bolt of lightning crashing down toward Ethan.
But The Spot simply smirked. His black circles swirled across his body, absorbing the lightning. He extended his hand, and the energy shot back out from a portal above Hulk, striking the green behemoth square in the chest.
Hulk, now fully in control of his intellect and strength, roared in fury but remained calm. "Nice try," he growled, leaping into the air. Hulk's massive fist crashed down toward Ethan, but a portal opened beneath him, swallowing his punch.
But this time, Hulk anticipated it. As his punch disappeared into the portal, he swung his other hand down, smashing into the ground just as Ethan reappeared, sending a shockwave that rippled through the earth and knocked The Spot off balance.
Thor seized the moment, flying down with Mjölnir raised high. The god of thunder swung his hammer, but just as it was about to connect, Ethan twisted his body, his black circles shifting rapidly. The hammer passed through him, vanishing into a portal and reappearing on the other side of the battlefield.
"I control this space!" Ethan roared, his voice booming. "You can't touch me!"
But Thor only smiled. "Maybe not with Mjölnir."
Suddenly, the sky darkened as Thor summoned a massive storm. Lightning surged through the air, not from Mjölnir, but from Thor himself. He became a living conduit of Asgardian power, his body glowing with divine energy. With a roar, Thor unleashed a torrent of lightning, too widespread for Ethan's portals to catch.
Ethan screamed as the lightning coursed through him, his black circles flickering in and out of existence.
....
Meanwhile, Spider-Man and Reed Richards worked in the background, focused on disabling Ethan's portals. Reed stretched his body across the battlefield, using his enhanced intellect to analyze the fluctuations in Ethan's portal network.
"These portals are connected to a central energy source," Reed muttered, his mind racing. "If we can disrupt that connection, we can shut them down."
Spider-Man swung in beside him, his new suit shimmering with adaptive nanotech. "I've got an idea! If we overload his portals with more energy than they can handle, it might short them out!"
"Do it," Reed said without hesitation, stretching his body to shield civilians from falling debris.
Spider-Man swung into action, weaving through the battlefield. He landed on a crumbling skyscraper and launched a series of specialized web cartridges toward the nearest portal. As the webs latched onto the portal's edge, they sent a surge of electrical energy through the opening, causing the portal to flicker and destabilize.
Ethan noticed immediately, his eyes narrowing. "You think you can disable my portals?" He waved his hand, and a new portal opened directly beneath Spider-Man, aiming to send him careening into a chaotic rift.
But Peter was faster. His Iron Spider legs extended, anchoring him to the building as he fired another web, tethering himself to safety before the portal could consume him. "Not today, Spot!" Spider-Man quipped, flipping gracefully out of the portal's grasp and swinging back toward Reed.
"Keep it up, kid," Reed said, stretching across the battlefield to analyze the next series of rifts. "We're disrupting his energy network, but we need more power."
Spider-Man nodded, his focus intensifying. "Leave it to me."
....
Amidst the chaos, Ethan hovered above the battlefield, his body glowing with cosmic energy. His connection to the spotted dimension had deepened, his mastery over it nearly complete. He no longer needed to think about summoning portals, they flowed from him like second nature. The black circles on his skin pulsed with power, and he felt the fabric of reality bending to his will.
But the heroes were becoming a greater threat than he had anticipated. Their teamwork, their resilience, it was forcing him to evolve.
"You've forced my hand," Ethan growled. His body shifted as the black circles expanded, growing larger and more numerous. With a sharp motion, he unleashed a new wave of power. Portals opened not just around the battlefield, but across Xandar itself. The ground split apart as massive chunks of the planet were pulled into the spotted dimension.
Buildings crumbled, streets twisted into impossible shapes, and civilians screamed in terror as reality itself began to fracture.
Tony's voice cut through the chaos over the comms. "He's losing control! If we don't stop him now, he's going to tear this planet apart!"
But Ethan wasn't finished. His control over the spotted dimension had reached a new height, he could now manipulate the portals with a thought. He opened portals within portals, creating an endless loop of destruction. The sky above Xandar fractured as pieces of the planet were pulled into the black void, only to be ejected in random locations across the city.
"Do you see now?" Ethan shouted, his voice echoing across the planet. "I am beyond you! I am the master of reality!"
