Chapter 16: Candidates for the Team

Law realised that although he was strong enough to take care of all problems but he couldn't be everywhere and he needed to both up his game and gather subordinates or a team of his own.

Law thought to himself that he is using abilities mostly from Trafalgar Law's template and ignoring Kisuke's template abilities.

He couldn't blame himself for this as ope ope no mi abilities were strong enough to beat most of the guys he has faced up until now.

But from now on he would try to use his shinigami powers more as well as his Zanpakutō.

There was also no information about how he has to awaken his Shikai yet and thought that he has to awaken it himself by getting to know the name of Zanpakutō from the spirit itself.

And for that he has to have a better connection with Benihime and for that he had to use it to fight much more.

He even realised that he would need a better standing in the society and have a say in either of the following categories : the politics or military or Technology or Economic.

He didn't want a say in just one of them but all of them so he decided to create a large business empire focusing on technology to have a say in both tech and economic matters of the country or even world at some point in the future.

As for Military, he decided to form his own team of powered individuals that would deter almost anyone from causing troubles for him.

Law decided that he needed a team and even subordinates to deal with various things like managing his business, protecting his business site or deal with villains that he couldn't due to being busy.

He didn't have much requirements except that they must be loyal to him, don't mind killing people for greater good and strong enough to protect themselves. He didn't mind training them in hand to hand combat or with different weapons thanks to his knowledge from both the templates.

He absolutely needed a telepath or someone who can read minds as one of his subordinates. So he noted down some of the telepaths in the X men movies and MCU which he could remember

They are Charles Xavier, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Psylocke and Wanda Maximoff (MCU one). He has not read comics much so he didn't know about telepaths that were in comics. Also, he was not sure if the comic telepaths would be in this universe or not.

He ruled out Charles Xavier as he wouldn't kill people as he even tried to tell Magneto not to kill the guy who tortured him.

He found out about Jean Grey and she was three years younger than him and Peter. She was 14 and was still in school. She has not awakened her powers yet. Besides Law didn't want to deal with a cosmic entity and having her host as a subordinate was a no go for now.

This left him with Psylocke and Emma Frost. He couldn't find anything about either of them.

After some more research he found something interesting on the dark web. Vincent Lavecchia, a Mafia boss has risen in power in Las Vegas. But the more interesting thing was that he was always accompanied by a blonde young woman. After some more time, he managed to find that this young woman was sold as a slave by her father and was bought by Vincent in an auction. She also had signs of being abused.

'Looks like I am not too late and I can recruit Emma Frost before Sebastian Shaw finds her and recruits her. This way I can also guarantee her loyalty towards me. Besides she is an Omega ranked Telepath and also has the ability to turn into organic diamond. But it seems she has not been able to use her ability yet or she would have already escaped.'

Two years back there were bombing in Sokovia which means both Wanda and Pietro from the MCU are orphaned. They should be around 12 years old right now. They awakened their abilities after Hydra exposed them to energy from the Scepter in the year 2014. This led to the awakening of their latent mutant gene which they would have awakened even without the help of the scepter but much later.

This also unlocked and amplified the latent Chaos Magic within her, fulfilling the myth of the Scarlet Witch.

Law thought how he could help the kids as well as help them awaken their abilities without the help of stone. They both would become very helpful with their mutant abilities. Maybe then Wanda wouldn't get mad and he wouldn't have to deal with her.

Law decided to help them a bit later when they were a little older. He realised that Magneto would not be having Pietro or Wanda as his kids. So no Quicksilver in either X-men team or the Brotherhood of mutants.

He also decided to keep an eye on Psylocke and see if he can recruit her.

He found another individual he was going to recruit along with Emma Frost right now.

The guy's name was Remy Lebeau aka Gambit. Remy has the power to take the potential energy stored in an object and convert it to kinetic energy, thus "charging" that item with explosive results.

He would be a perfect addition to Law's team. He found out that this guy is mostly seen playing Poker in New Orleans.

He decided to recruit only these two for now.

Fun fact the thing about Vincent and Emma is actually true. You can Google about him.

Anyways when I searched possible people for recruits. Most of the names that came to me were females like Jean, Emma, Wanda, Mystique, Storm, Rogue, Valkyrie etc. I am not saying there are not men but they are quite few and not suitable to work in a team with Mc. Now I don't want to make the story Harem but there are just too many good females out there in the Marvel universe :⁠-⁠\
