CHAPTER 29

~21st May 2010~ (The day after the mission)

Natasha was standing outside Fury's office with a suitcase in her hands.

"Come in," she heard and she opened the door and went in.

When she came inside, she saw Maria, Fury, and one she did not expect, Ian. He was with them when they monitored Andrew and saw his powers.

'This is going to be troublesome,' she thought as she saw Fury's cold and calculating eyes.

"What did Andrew say?" Maria asked as Natasha entered as she did not want Fury to begin.

But before Natasha could answer, Fury said, "Would you like to tell me how Andrew acquired his powers?"

Maria sighed.

Natasha was stumped. She did not show it and said, "What powers?"

Fury said, "So, you will not say it? You do know the only reason your enemies do not take action is because of SHIELD?"

Natasha did not waver and asked, "Can you show me the proof of his powers that you say?"

A Few Minutes before Natasha entered.

"What was so important for you to meet me now, Agent Ian?" questioned Fury.

"There is something that I have not told you, sir. I have kept it a secret till now because I…"

Ian then started to tell the tale of what happened the day when they were sent to get Andrew and what he had seen.

Fury and Maria were shocked as Ian was talking.

'Can move distances with a single step?' this was the thought of both of them.

As he finished, both Fury and Maria were silent.

'This all makes sense. How he can infiltrate, complete, and get back without any sorts of injuries. Powers. Another one has popped up. I also know for sure that they had been busy with getting to Zavez, so it must not be them who could have given Ian the feeling of danger to his life. It should have been the organization of the one they had killed when they were getting Andrew. Chances are high for it to be this unknown organization. I have to be vigilant,' Fury thought.

Maria was also contemplating similar to Fury but she did not come to his conclusion.

Fury and Maria came to the result that Andrew had some kind of powers. Ian would not have come if he did not face a threat to his life.

"Do you have any proof regarding this?" Maria asked.

"No, mam. Agent Natasha deleted everything as there was a spy in our midst. She did not want it to be recorded or saved and both Natasha and Barton had asked me to keep it a secret."

"Why did you come forward now? For what?"

Ian for the past few days had felt someone was watching him closely and he felt his life was in danger. He has many secrets but there was only one that will make people want to silence him. It was Andrew's powers. He thought that Andrew decided to end his life but it was not anyone from the trio it was a completely different group that had lived as a parasite in Shield.

"My life, sir. I feel like I was being monitored for the past few days everywhere, during missions, even when I am here and in the last two to three days, I felt it increase. And the only one I could think of was Andrew."

Hearing this, they did not know what to do. For the past few days, Maria and Fury had seen Andrew focus on his revenge and was working on it and yesterday he had successfully killed Zavez. Fury then asked Maria after their discussion yesterday to contact Natasha and asked her to get the device but she had said that Andrew will not give it. Then she asked Natasha to get to the base and explain it to Fury.

What they did not know was that Natasha had brought the device with her. Before she departed from the Island, she and Andrew had a talk and he decided to give the device to her and asked her to handle it accordingly.

As Fury was about to talk, they heard a voice, "Natasha, here to report,"

Back to the present.

"Can you show me the proof of his powers that you say?" Natasha asked and her eyes did not waver.

"We don't have proof, Natasha," said Fury.

Maria saw that Fury had calmed down.

'Hmm… he must have found out something for him to stay calm,' thought Maria.

"There is a saying, "Truth comes out when someone faces or feels death"," asked Fury.

Natasha was calm, 'Ian is facing death threats? Or did he feel the danger to his life? I and Barton only monitored him…' she thought.

"I have but I don't think that is how the saying is said," she said.

"You get my point, Agent Romanoff. I can understand why you kept it to yourself. But the problem is the one you killed that day when getting Andrew, we have no idea who he works for and they are after Ian. Soon they will be after you and Barton as well. If only he was alive, we could have known who it was but you had to kill him."

Natasha was convinced that Fury knew and now understood that the cold eyes were not directed at her but at the ones who is targeting SHIELD, its agents, and maybe they have even infiltrated.

Maria felt a click go off her mind.

"We need to be careful. They have already got to know Ian was in the mission which means they know Natasha and Barton were involved as well. There are other agents as well but only you three saw what happened. We need to make a check of the other agents involved as well," said Maria.

"Call Barton tomorrow and do not let him know we know about his powers. Do not have any records of his powers as well. Whatever we have on Andrew, let it be there as we don't want to alert whoever we are facing. We have a got a report of some agents dying and missing for the past few days. A total of 10 if I am not wrong. I need you to verify who was on the mission. Then we would be clear on who are all being targeted," said Fury.

"Fill in Phil on this as well." Fury uttered.

"I will and I have the list now in my hands. I will verify, give me a minute," said Maria.

Fury turned to Natasha and said, "Natasha, I hope you won't tell Andrew that I know about his powers. I won't be coming after him or forcing him to join SHIELD and I realized I was close to breaking the line." Fury said and continued, "But I hope he can help us when we need it."

Natasha replied, "I can only try, and I can't keep a secret from him Fury. He has decerning eyes that know when someone is hiding something from him. And I believe he will understand." and sighed.

She can only hope that Andrew will understand.

Fury nodded and spoke, "Maria, schedule a meeting with us 4, Phil, and Barton tomorrow. I want only us to know what is going on."

"Pierce?" Maria questioned.

"No one else!" his words sounded like an order for them.

"I have the list, there are a total of eleven, four are presumed to be dead and other seven missing, no one from the mission is dead, they are under the missing category," Maria said.

"Find them. That is to be the top priority. We will talk tomorrow, dismissed."

"Wait," Natasha said.

Natasha opened the suitcase that held some documents and a device.

"This will be helpful for us," she said as she held the device in her hands.

"The Camera disrupter," Fury was confused, "Maria said he said no,"

"He told me to handle it accordingly and I believe we need it now more than ever," Natasha said and switched it on.

Maria's tablet was connected to the cameras in the headquarters as well. She switched to it, only to see nothing is working, and was shocked.

"How did he even create this?" she asked in disbelief.

The cameras in Shield are not the same as the ones out in the world. They are more advanced and sophisticated and now a tool created by Andrew who had no idea about the workings of cameras or anything related to it until a month ago was disrupting their cameras.

Fury was not showing it but was shocked inside.

Natasha was contemplating whether to ask Andrew for the Communication one as well. As he has put it on his list to work on one that disrupts the others but makes his work. The one he had used completely disrupts communication and it does not see Friend or Foe. She put the thought aside and decided to wait.

Oh, I wanted to ask if it is alright if I deleted CHAPTER: CODE NAME or let it be as many have commented and voted for it. I thought I will be able to change it to Auxiliary but I am not able to.
