CHAPTER 12

Coralline's pov

I woke up again and found myself on an hospital bed. Damon was seating on the couch next to the bed while resting his head on the bed sprobably sleeping. I thought about the dream I had, it felt real like I've experienced it before and the people were very familiar.

I sat up and my movement woke up the sleeping Damon. He stood up immediately and touched my face. 'Are you alright?, I nodded my head. 'Do you feel any discomfort?' he asked again and I shook my head.

'I need water' I managed to say. He rushed to the table next to the door and poured out water from a jug into a cup. He gave it to me and I drank it in hurry.

I handed the empty cup over to him and asked 'how long have I been out?'

'A whole day' he said

'What about the taxi driver?' I asked again

'Don't worry, he's fine. Let me go and call the doctor'

He left and came back immediately with the doctor. The doctor did his job immediately.

'I've done all the necessary checkups and she would be fine if she has enough rest' the doctor said

'Alright, can she get discharged now?' Damon asked

'Yes, but make sure she doesn't go through any stress' the doctor said and left

'I'll go sign your discharge papers' Damon said and also left.

Just then, the door opened and Sophie rushed in worriedly. 'oh my God, what happened? I was at home last night waiting for you when someone called me with your phone saying you were involved in an accident. I would have come here immediately but it was already late yesterday, so this morning I came here as soon as I could' she rambled heaving heavily like she just ran a marathon

'Geez, I'm okay. I wasn't that serious' I said

'Hey, don't tell me that. I practically ran all the way here and you're telling me it's not that serious, she said frowning.

'Damn…. You look ugly when you frown' I teased. I know I'm lying Sophie is really pretty even when angry unlike me.

'Earth to cora' Sophie said waving her hands on my face. 'I know you would be hungry so I brought you some food' she said giving me a flask I didn't notice she entered with and a spoon. I opened the food and a mouthwatering aroma of pasta and fried chicken filled my nostrils. 'your favorite' she said smiling

'that's why you're my best friend' I praised grinning

'glutton go on and eat"

I didn't waste time and started munching on the food.

'I almost forgot, I wanted to tell you something interesting' she said

'what is it?'

'I saw Vivian last night'

'so?'

'she was coming out of an hotel with an old man. If you had seen them yourself, you would know that their relationship was not simple. They were cuddling and kissing each other. If I didn't know her before, I wouldn't have recognized her because she covered her face' Sophie said with a disgusted look on her face.

'I thought that marrying john would make her stop her wh*ring behaviour' I said

'once a sl*t always a sl*t, it's pretty obvious she doesn't love John, didn't you say she's pregnant? She can never change' Sophie said

'Well you're right' I said biting on the chicken

'I'm always right, I even too videos of them' she said showing them to me. The videos made me loose my appetite, they were really disgusting. I pushed the phone away. 'Why would you take videos of them?' I asked

'They could come in handy in future' she said dropping it on the table

The door opened again interrupting our discussion and Damon walked inside. I wanted to laugh at the expression on Sophie's face because she looked dumbstruck.

She quickly stood up and said 'Good morning sir, I'm....'

'Sophie, coralline's friend, I know already. She told me about you. I'm Damon, her boyfriend' he said smiling while extending his hand for a handshake.

Boyfriend? What boyfriend? Sophie shook his hand while giving me a 'what the hell' look. She came to me and whispered accusingly 'you didn't tell me you were already dating prince charming'

'that's because we aren't dating, he's lying' I whispered back. She looked at me like she didn't believe me but she didn't say anything.

'uhm sorry Sophie, can I have some time alone with Cora?' Damon asked

'Yes you can have all the time you want' she said and ran out as if her pants were on fire.

'Coward' I said

Damon looked at me and smiled, that was when I noticed we were alone.
