Alexander reached his chambers in no time and the sight that he saw stunned him. He's royal robes were scattered everywhere, some were on the floor and others on the bed. 'Did she use my clothes as toys? I can't even get angry at her...sigh....I don't know what to say anymore.' He said in his head as he picked the royal robe he wore on his wedding day.

"Were you perhaps thinking of me?" He asked an empty room and a reply came.

"Yes." Came the firm voice.

"I....I missed you." She said and Alexander's gaze turned cold. He grabbed her arm and slammed her against the wall. Elen yelped in pain because he was hurting her arms.

"Tell me..." He said and tangled her hair in his hands. This sight made Elen remember that night that he had told her not to say thank you. This was the exact thing he did and it made Elen's heart ache. Why is he still cold and distant?? She asked herself.

"Why are my clothes everywhere?" He asked in a menacing tone that Elen felt the skin on her hands stand. She shouldn't feel this way towards him but how could she control herself when he was in this state. How couldn't she feel scared seeing him like this?

"I....I was trying to fold them up." She lied and she knew that Alexander was aware that she blatantly lied.

"Lies. Tell me the truth."

"It's the truth. W-why would I lie?" She said and he chuckled devilishly.

"Okay, I'll consider it a truth maybe because you were bored and decided trying something new." He said and Elen sighed in relief but he wasn't done yet.

"So tell me...why did you call me by my title?" He asked and this time he looked protective. Elen gulped, even she didn't know why she called him by that name but she was sure he didn't like it, but why? Wasn't that his title? It's a title that she had called him when they first got married so what changed?

"Y-you had told me to call you by your name only when we're alone, so why -"

"Call me by my name wherever we are. Understand?" He said and Elen subconsciously nodded.

"Y-y-yes." She said with a cracky voice. Her throat were stinging from the tears but she didn't want to cry in front of him! She just held her tears and bottled up the pain in her heart.

He let go off her and walked towards the bed. She could see he was still angry because that menacing and cold aura still filled the room and Elen couldn't help but shake her head mentally. 'gods, I always have to tame his monster. He's so cold, and it looked like he even became colder. Did Robert tell the truth? If he had actually done what he said, shouldn't he be more relieved by now, but it seemed that he appeared to be even more tensed.' She said in her head.

She strode towards the bed and crawled behind him. Alexander noticed her movements but didn't bother about it, he just thought that she was tired and needed to rest. But she couldn't possibly sleep on this messy bed?! What is she up to this time? He thought and sighed inwardly.

When he still didn't see any sign of her laying on the bed, he was about to turn but then, he felt warm, tiny hands, wrapped around his waist, saying some muffled words.

"I m-missed you. I'm glad you're home now." She said but she could still see that his aura filled the room. 'Isn't it working?'

She held his waist tighter and said those same words to him. His stiff body slowly loosened up and she heaved a sigh of relief.

"Are you alright?" She asked and he replied with a simple 'Mm.' Alexander could see that she wasn't worried that he left her alone, rather she looked worries for him and he didn't even want to start thinking what his men had told her, especially that blabbermouth, Robert.

"I'll call the maids to clean this place up. You can't stay here, let's go to your personal chambers." She said and he just nodded without uttering a single word.

Elen stood by the door and took out a long rope to ring the bell, to get the maids attention. In less than three minutes, two maids were seen inside the chambers.

"Clean this mess here. I want it fast, my husband just returned." She said and they nodded. The maids had already noticed the cold attitude their princess gave when the prince left. But they didn't bother about it.

Alexander also noticed her and his brows creased. 'When did my wife become cold? She was acting like a worried bunny a while ago, what suddenly changed?' He could only ask himself.

The maids nodded and started their cleaning. Elen and Alexander gave them space so the job would be much faster. Three guards were trailing behind them but she didn't see any of Alexander's men. 'Maybe they're training.' She thought. But unbeknownst to her, they were hiding.

They reached Alexander's chambers and they guards stopped outside. Alexander held Elen's hand and dragged her towards the bed. He inspected the room, and at least, this wasn't a mess.

He gently sat her on the bed and also sat beside her. "What's wrong with you?" He asked and Elen creased her brows. 'Huh? I should be asking you that?!'

"What's wrong with me?" She said with creased brows.

"Nothing." She then added.

"Tell me, why are you acting cold?" He asked again and Elen wanted to burst out laughing. 'So you don't like seeing me acting cold huh? That's the way I don't also like you being cold.'

"Take your bath and I'll tell you." She said and stood up to leave but Alexander grabbed her arm, so she could only sit back with a sigh.

"Are you threatening me?" He asked and she giggled.

"It's not a threat. It's a simple request." She said.

"And what if I don't want to?" He coldly said, that aura she had tried so hard to calm down had suddenly been released just because she's acting cold. Sigh...this man.

"Then I won't tell you. Look, you returned from a journey and I know you must be exhausted, shouldn't you take a bath to relax your tensed nerves?" She said and he clenched his fists. He couldn't believe that his wife was just saying things without fear. And the worst was that, he had to obey her even if he didn't want to, which was what confused him the more. Why does he have to listen to her? He can easily get the information he needed out of her but he couldn't bring himself to hurt her.

Without saying another word, he dashed towards the bathroom and violently closed the door that Elen playfully flinched. When she was sure he was gone, she let out a soft giggle and smiled. 'That's for leaving me here all alone.'

She stood up from the bed and went round the room, she hadn't observed this room before, because she hadn't really been to his chambers that much, he was the one coming to her chambers it they would just go to both their chambers.

Now that she looked at it, the room wasn't that extravagant, and one would hardly believe that a prince lived here. The bed, the curtains, shelves and everything were just plain and it made her wonder why he didn't decorate his room. Well, with his cold personality, what did she expect?

Her eyes roamed the room, admiring the simple things. Her eyes caught a book in his shelve, and her curiosity got the better of her. She strolled towards the shelve and brought the book out.

The book looked old and it looked like it hadn't being opened for long. The title of the book made her crease her brows and made her want to open it as fast as possible. "Witches, spells and curses?" She murmured.

Below the book cover were tiny words written that she had to strain her eyes to read them, but even then, she couldn't read it. She just ignored that part and proceeded to open the book but before she could do that, Alexander held her hand and took the book from her.
