Your highness

"Are you alright?" Linda asked Elen who was standing by the window lost in thoughts.

"Mm. I'm fine." She said, actually, she wasn't fine, she wanted to see her husband but she knew she had to be patient and just wait for him to return. God knows how long her patience would last one day.

"You don't look fine to me. You can tell me, I might he -"

"I said I'm fine!" She cut her off, shocking herself and Linda. She didn't mean to yell at her! She was angry at herself and now she had vented her anger on someone else.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." She apologized and Linda gave her an assuring smile.

"It's okay. I understand. You're missing your husband and it's normal for you to get pissed off when you haven't seen him for days." Linda said and Elen was glad that she understands her but it still doesn't change the fact that she yelled at a princess. Her husband's sister!

"Still, I yelled at you, a princess. No one would accept that."

"I'm not complaining, it's fine. I was the one who came here without asking first." She said and Elen hugged her.

"Thank you."

Just after they disengaged from the hug, a guard interrupted them, Linda was about to speak but he beat her to it. He faced Elen and spoke. "Princess, his highness is back." He said and bowed his head.

Elen couldn't believe what she was hearing, was this true? Is he really here? Or maybe this guard said something else and because she's thinking too much, that's what she probably heard. She looked at Linda with wide eyes and Linda just smiled and as if knowing what she was thinking, she spoke. "Rest assured, you're not imagining things, he really is here. Besides, this guard wouldn't play such a prank." She explained and without wasting a single second, Elen dashed towards the entrance of the quarters.

Her eyes searched everywhere for him but couldn't seem to find him, there was a particular place where soldiers surrounded so she was sure he was standing there. The once dull palace suddenly became lively upon his arrival. She could see Robert with a tensed face but she didn't bother about that because all that mattered to her that moment was to see her husband.

Her eyes scanned the crowd again and a pair of fierce black eyes caught her attention and her heart bloomed with joy. She had this indescribable warm feeling of seeing those eyes. I-i-it's him! He's here, he's really here!!

She wanted to move but she still remained rooted to the ground. She didn't know why she couldn't suddenly move, maybe it's because she was too happy that she couldn't think straight anymore or she just didn't want to move. Whichever it was, she didn't know. She just wanted to hold him and hug him tight, she wanted to tell him how much she misses him.

The soldiers who surrounded him slowly dispersed and he was left standing with some few royal guards standing at a close range. His eyes quickly caught those amber eyes and a slight smile curved up his lips. He truly was happy to see that she was fine. 'My men really did a great job. Impressive!' He commented in his head.

Their gaze met and that warm feeling flickered in her chest again. She just couldn't describe how happy she was that she wanted to jump up to hug him, but she had to behave like the princess she was so she could only compose herself. But the problem was that, she couldn't move. This was getting really frustrating, she wanted to move to hug him but her body just didn't react this time. She just found relief in seeing him standing there, perfectly fine and alright, but she still needed to show him that right??

It was as if the both of them engaged in a staring contest, no one was willing to blink for the other and Alexander's men found this annoying.

"What?! Are they just going to stand there? Nothing?" Lago said.

"I was expecting a more romantic moment. Not this! This is lame! Your highness, at least make a move, just hug her. It seems you both are stuck!" Lago groaned.

"His Highness really has forgotten how to be romantic. This is so boring. I can't believe they both are acting this way. I understand that the princess might just be too happy to even do anything, but his Highness? A kiss on the cheek would do." Robert said. It seems that the prince's presence had given him hope and he looked like he was turning back to his normal self. 'Thank goodness the prince is back. He might have a solution to Robert's problem.' They commented in their heads.

The situation turned awkward that Elen didn't know what to do anymore. What if he thought that she didn't want him here or she wasn't happy to see him. This is not how she planned their reunion to be! 'Thanks body! Thank you for betraying me today, today of all days!!' She sarcastically said in her head.

Alexander noticed his wife was having a hard time so he decided to be the one to meet up with her even if it was supposed to be vice versa. Not that he cared about those things anyway.

He sighed and simply strode towards her direction. Elen felt her breathe got stuck. Her heart started to bear wildly and she could almost hear the sound of her own heartbeat.

Elen found him walking a little strange. 'Is it me or he's walking way too slow!'

He finally reached her direction and they both engaged in the paused staring contest. Elen stared deeply into those black eyes, if only she could see some emotions in them, then it would have been a mesmerizing sight. Just looking at him gave her relief, looking at him soothed her aching soul.

Alexander was expecting her to at least say some greetings or hug him, but the girl just stood there. 'Strange.' He said in his head.

He finally moved his hands and placed it on her cheeks and that was when the girl finally reacted.

"Your highness." She said, shocking herself and Alexander. Ever since they got married, she had always being calling him by his name even if Alexander had said, 'You can call me Alexander when we're alone.' After that day, she had called him by his name even when there are other people around and he really didn't bother.

Alexander knotted his brows, he didn't understand why she would call him by his title. Not that it was a bad thing though, but he was usually used to hearing his name from her mouth.

"Your highness?" He asked in a cold tone and Elen sensed that he didn't like it when she called him that.

'Oh no! What's wrong with me??'

He gazed into her eyes and said the single word, 'Chambers.' and marched into his quarters. That single word held enough meaning and Elen knew what he wanted so she sighed and followed behind him.

Linda who was about to leave the quarter, saw an angry Alexander, she knew better than to go meet him so she just ignored him.

She was about to take another step but she saw Elen trying to keep up with him and she could already guess there's problem. 'What's it this time?'

She stood in front of Elen and held her shoulders. "Is everything okay?"

"Y-y-yes. Please excuse me. I need to fix something." She hastily said and left.

Linda sighed and left the quarters. "Geez, those two. They're filled with drama."

....

Hello guys. I'm really not happy with the few readers I have. No one's leaving any reviews nor comments. Those two are the things that motivates me to write more and I haven't gotten any, yet I still write. I'd like to persuade y'all to comment as you read. I'd like to know if my story is good or not.

Thank you
