Chapter 18: ROTF Prep 2

[A week later, Diego Garcia,]

[Luke Pov]

'Ah Friday, the best day of the week. The perfect day for rest and recuperation.' I think to myself as I relax back into my chair with nice coffee with whipped cream.

"Yepp this is life." I say to myself before having a small sip of my coffee.

Just as I sipping my coffee I hear a knock at my door, I call out 'Enter' and stepping into my office was a Private wearing a ripped and dirty ACU (Army Combat Uniform) with mud covered boots.

"How can I help you, Private?" I asked the dirty soldier in front of me.

"Um well as you can see, Sir I need a new set of uniform." The Private said while pointing at the rips and tires not to mention the dirt and mess on his uniform.

"I see and when did you submit your request." Luke asked while he was looking through his draws for the paperwork.

"I didn't, Sir." The Private responded causing Luke to stop and look back at the Private.

"Is that your only set of uniform?" Luke questions.

"Yes, Sir." The Private lazily says.

"And why didn't you report this sooner?." Luke asked again.

"I'm forgetful?." The Private said confusingly while scratching his head.

"So what your saying is that everyday for the past few days when your Squad Leader came around in the mornings and evening to ask if Squad needs any new uniform, you forgot to ask?" Luke questioned.

"I believe so, Sir." The Private said in a carefree manner.

"What's your name Private." Luke asked.

"Newman, Sir." Private Newman answered.

"I see." Luke said before pressing a button on his desk.

"You called, Sir?" Luke's second in command asked as he entered the room.

"Yes, Captain please inform Private Newman's Squad to go to Drill Square and be in full uniform." Luke commanded.

"Yes, Sir." The Captain said before saluting and leaving.

[Drill Square, Heavy Rainstorm]

In the middle of the Drill Square in a pissing rainstorm was myself, some of the staff officers and Newman's squad. To the left undercover was Newman and the disciplinary officers.

"YOU HAVE BEEN BROUGHT HERE TODAY BECAUSE FAILED TO DO YOUR DUTYS PROPERLY AS A TEAM!" I shouted out making sure I can still be heard in the rainstorm.

"MANY OF YOU ARE PROBABLY CONFUSED, TODAY IN MY OFFICE NOT EVEN HALF AN HOUR AGO PRIVATE NEWMAN ENTERED MY OFFICE. HE ENTERED MY OFFICE IN A UNIFORM THAT DOES NOT MEET THE STANDARDS OF THIS ORGANISATION, AND WHEN I ASKED WHY HE DOESN'T POSSESS A SECOND SET OF UNIFORM HE TOLD ME HE WAS FORGETFUL!" Luke continued.

"I WANT TO ASK WHY NONE OF YOU WENT THROUGH THE CHAIN OF COMMAND!?" Luke asks.

Only to receive silence besides the sound of rain slamming into the ground.

"I SEE, TAKE OFF YOUR UNIFORM." Luke commanded, the squad only looked at each other confusingly.

"I SAID TAKE OFF THAT UNIFORM IF YOUR SQUAD MEMBER IS WEARING HIS IN A SHIT STATE THEN WHY DO YOU GET TO WEAR IT! Luke bellowed out before the Squad slowly began to strip until they were in just their underwear, the squad shivered in the rain.

"I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS NO 'I' IN TEAM I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THERE IS NO 'ME', 'HIM' OR 'THEM' IN UNIT BUT THERE IS A U, U (You) HAVE LET DOWN THIS SQUAD AND AS SUCH I WILL BE PUNISHING U (You)!" Luke shouted out before turning to a Warrant Officer.

"Warrant Officer you know what to do." Luke said which sounded at the level of a whisper due to the rain."

"Yes, Sir." The Warrant Officer replied before picking up the squads uniform and dunking it in a pool of muddy water before taking the boots out covering it mud and bringing it back.

"YOUR PUNISHMENT WILL BE DOING PUSH UPS, EVERY TIME YOU REACH THE GROUND YOU WILL LICK THE MUD OFF YOUR BOOTS AS WELL AS COUNT THE NUMBER OF PUSH UPS YOU'VE DONE!" Luke ordered before walking away with the rest of the staff officers besides the disciplinary officers who drag Private Newman in front of his Squad.

I went back into my office when all of sudden my phone began to ring, I reach into my pocket and answer the phone.

^"Hello?."^ Luke answers.

^"Hello, is this Luke Witwicky?."^ A feminin voice asks over the phone.

^"Speaking."^ Luke says.

^"It's Mikaela, I need your help."^ The voice now recognised as Mikaela says.
