161 Blood Island

Some figures flew up and greeted the dragon. They also noticed Mu Yue at the back but didn't ask any questions. They do know she has the royal blood and were curious.

After the greetings, Wang Shi flew past the capital. Mu Yue was confused about why they didn't stop. She thought the trial would be placed to somewhere special, like the capital.

She wasn't wrong though as there was a place even more special than the capital. They flew for some time before arriving at a reddish island. The capital was at the most north part of the mainland, only some distance from the shore. This reddish island was near the shore that a bridge was made to connect it to the mainland.

Mu Yue glanced at the island, amazed that a forest can actually be red. There was also an unusually large tree in the middle of it. Once they were on top of the island, she saw a red lake beside the tree and some kind of structure in the middle of it.

The dragon landed near the lake and was greeted by a woman. A special force was made just to stay on the island. They can leave the island and do missions tasked to them but there are always members left to guard the place. The woman was one of the leaders of this force.

"Greetings Elder Wang Shi, may I ask what is your business here?"

Ordinary citizens were prohibited to go to this island, only when the island is open that happens once a year. If an important individual went here, it would mean that they need to do something important as well.

"I am here to have this child start a blood trial. Either right now or tomorrow, depending on what she wants."

The woman's gaze landed on Mu Yue. She observes her before saying, "Possessor of the royal blood and white hair which only the royals have but it seems she does not have red eyes."

"She already experienced the first ascension and already have the urge to drink blood. She also has yet to properly control our unique power. She is already late for the trial, is it available?"

"Yes, elder. The blood festival will only happen 10 months later which would mean the months before that will be quiet."

Wang Shi then asked Mu Yue, "When would you like to start? Now or later until tomorrow so you can rest first?"

Mu Yue do not know what the trial is all about. She wanted to take a rest first, "Later just before the sun sets. I do not need too much time for rest that it will be postponed till tomorrow."

"Good! I will leave you in their care. I still have some things to do now that I arrived here."

"Thank you for your guidance." Mu Yue gave her gratitude before the dragon leaves.

The woman then approached Mu Yue and suggested, "You can rest on the houses we are not using."

"Thank you for the offer but I am fine resting here." Mu Yue then glanced at the large tree and ask, "May I know what type of tree is that or what it does? I somehow feel that it's special."

"We refer to it as the blood tree. Those that have 'blood' on their names signify their connection to the blood race. Out of all those that are named with blood, this tree is the most important. The lake beside it is the excess essence of the tree. It is used to start these trials which aim to strengthen a bloodling. The tree and the lake help us control our powers and give us a boost in strength, which is crucial to those that are young."

Mu Yue wondered what trial would it be. If what she would do is related to the tree and the lake, can't she just absorb the essence and get strong? She will just have to find out when it starts as the woman did not answer when she asked this.

Mu Yue lay down on the grass and stares at the sky while remembering Xiao Yan. While traveling, she has been thinking about how long till she reunites with her. She was a royal, will they allow her to leave a safe place and wander outside just to be together with a human?

Also, since she had royal blood, does it means the royal family is her real family? Will she meet her mother? There were a lot of questions she would like to be answered.
