Adding to Her Misery
PRESENT TIME…
A week had passed. And every day was same. Starts with load of works and sometimes with some mental torture. And ends with the announcement of tomorrow's workload. She was already feeling tired of her dream job.
At first, she wants to continue her job no matter what as she loves her work but everything is falling apart here for her. Every day her hopelessness is only increasing.
Now, she was hesitating. Her boss and colleagues were welcoming and friendly to her but suddenly her boss is clearly showing his dislike for her and all her colleagues are keeping their selves at a distance from her. This is too much for her. Only Maira came for her help whenever she gets a chance. Many times, she would be chased away by boss or his assistant but she always comes back.
Finding a friend in her in this chaos is a blessing to her.
She was deliberately ignoring the fact of involvement of Ahmer in her misery but she can't help but feel wronged.
"Thud!" A file is slammed into her desk which brought her back to her present environment.
She lifts up her head and saw Mr. Shah's assistant.
"Sir wants you to collect all the files related to this project from Finance and HR department before the lunchtime and make sure to make a report of them and submit to him before leaving for your house. If you have any doubts, you can ask him directly."
She just gave her instructions and leave immediately, not giving a chance to her to ask a question.
She opens her drawer and put her bag and mobile phone in it. She thinks that she only had to get the files, so, there is no need to carry mobile with her. There she saw her gift for Rayan which she accidentally kept in her office bag and was unable to give him.
She also takes it out and was looking at it.
When she founds out the gift in her bag, she puts it in this drawer on her desk as for the time being she can't meet him as he is already in Canada.
There was a smile on her face.
Unknown to her, the camera which is directly opposite to her desk, which was recently installed only to kept her records was capturing her every moment and the person watching her smile for the gift on the screen was already on fire.
Rushd was standing behind him and he was feeling his rage. He shuddered thinking of Ansha's aftermath of this simple gesture.
"You know what you have to do." His grim voice sounded out.
"Are you sure Sir?" He was clearly hesitating.
"So, you are now questioning me?" He asks him in turn.
"No Sir!" He steps back and lowers his head to show his obedience.
"Make sure she will be kept in storeroom for half an hour."
"As you say Sir."
She decides to starts from HR department as it was one floor below. She informs Maira about her task on her way out.
"Lift is currently out of order"
"We are doing maintenance. Thank you for your patience."
When she approaches the lift, the out-of-order sign which was already hanging their just teases her.
"Well, Ansha you can take the stairs. This is not a problem at all." She assures herself.
She hurriedly does her work there. Workers of HR department were very friendly and helps her out.
She collects all the files from there and moves to Finance department's floor.
Again, she had to use stairs with the files in her hands as lift was still not repaired.
She got to that department and was directly led to storeroom.
Soon she was covered in dust but she finds all the related files. The lunchtime is about to start. She decides to just placed all these files on her desk and go for lunch and after that she would make a report of it.
When she just lifts all the files the door was suddenly got closed from outside. She was startled for a moment.
She reached the door and placed the files in her hands onto the nearby desk and called out. No one answers her.
Moreover, the lights also start flickering and they just got off like that.
Now, this was the patience out point for Ansha.
She starts screaming.
"Somebody is out there?"
"I'm stuck here!"
Her mobile was also in the drawer of her desk. She can't do anything now.
After screaming for five minutes, she just sits by the support of the door.
She holds her knees close and put her head on them. She sits quietly there. She assured herself that this time will soon be passed and she will be out. She just has to wait for the lunchtime to be over. Then, someone will definitely come and will open the door.
The security camera was capturing her every movement.
Some time passed but she never lifts up her head.
She only lifts up her head when she heard some noise outside the door. Someone was about to open the door.
She hurriedly stands up and slide away some distance from the door.
The door opens and a warden and Maira came into her view.
There was fear in Maira's eyes and upon seeing her she just hugged her.
"How did you find me?" After separation, Ansha asked her.
"I was waiting for you I cafeteria but you never reached, I tried to contact you but you were not answering your mobile. I just got tensed and goes to HR department, there they say that you already left. So, I just came here. Upon asking, he informed me that you are in storeroom since then and never came out." She points out to warden.
"Well, I just got stuck here. I called out but nobody replies, I think everybody just left for lunch, so, I just decided to wait for the lunchtime to be over.
Thank you for coming for me." She said with a smile.
"Let's go!"
After reaching her desk she freshened up and continued her work forgetting that she never had a lunch.
She completed her work on time.
Maira leaves first.
When Ansha opens up her drawer for her things she was stupefied for some moments.
The gift which she brought for Rayan was a mess. The tie was teared from many places and the gift wrapper is already a mess. The pieces were flowing out of her drawer. She holds the tie in her hand and was just staring at it in regret.
She can only think of one person for doing this but she does not want to accept this. Tears were already in her eyes and was just about to come out.
Suddenly she just rubbed her eyes and put the messy tie in her bag and left the office.
