His Lies

Three days later...

(At the Fire kingdom)

The princess requested for Elenor's presence. When Eleanor arrived at her room, she saw a bunch of closed scattered on the princess's bed, so she asked her what it was for. Kaycee then told her that she'll be dressing her up because she'll be attending a event.

The princess smiled. "It's my birthday today, and you'll be accompanying me."

Eleanor's eyes widened. "I didn't know it was your birthday. Happy birthday, your highness."

"Thank you. I'll start picking your clothes now."

An hour passed by and Kaycee was finally able to find the perfect gown for Eleanor.

She handed her a blue dress. "Wear this. I'm sure this suits you."

Eleanor sighed, "I hope so, your highness. We've been trying around twenty gowns already."

When Eleanor wore the gown, Kaycee's eyes widened and she knew that it was the perfect gown.

"Thank you your highness, but I think that this gown is too showy for me," Eleanor said.

"What's showy about that dress? It's only backless."

"Your highness, I really feel uncomfortable wearing this."

"Please Eva. It's only for today."

Eleanor said, "Then I shall not object, your highness."

After picking a dress, they decided to play truth or dare.

Kaycee smiled. "You go first. Truth or dare?"

Eleanor said, "Truth."

"Hmmm... Do you think my second brother is handsome?"

"Your highness, isn't this too much? How could you ask a maid about this?"

"Don't worry. I won't tell him. It's just between us." Kaycee smirked.

"Okay. I guess I won't be lying then. He is indeed quite handsome," Eleanor admitted.

"I knew it! You like my brother don't you?" Kaycee teased.

"No, your highness. I wouldn't even dream to be with him."

"Dont worry. It's quite normal for people to say that because he's quite attractive. But there's no use in having an attractive face if he's such a cold person. Anyways, it's my turn now. I choose dare."

"You choose dare? Then I dare you to kiss your fiancé in the cheek when you see him later."

"Eva, such a simple task. Of course I can do it."

"Kaycee, we should go now. The party is about to start."

When Kaycee and Eleanor arrived at the ball room, Kaycee saw Adam and said, "I'm glad you were able to make it."

"Why wouldn't I come to your party? You look beautiful," Adam responded.

The princess said, "By the way, this is Eva."

"Hello Eva. I'm Adam, fiancé of Kaycee," Adam greeted.

"I'm Eva. I'm Kaycee's friend," Eleanor introduced herself.

"You mean best friend!" Kaycee corrected.

Eleanor uttered, "Ehem! Ehem!"

When Kaycee knew what she meant, she instantly pecked Adam's cheek. Adam then blushed. "What's with the peck?"

Kaycee replied, "I just miss you. Can't I?"

Eleanor interrupted, "I'll be going to Olive first. Have fun!"

When Eleanor saw Olivia, she ran to her and whispered, "I look awful don't I?"

Olivia complimented, "Your gown suits you and you look beautiful!"

"You look beautiful too."

"Look! The king is gonna have a speech," Olivia said.

When everyone's attention was on the king, Cameron started talking. He began, "Today is my little sister's nineteenth birthday. I would like to say that eventhough we usually fight, I still love and care for her. She has helped me in so many things that I couldn't handle by myself. That's why I'm thankful that I have a sister like her. Happy birthday Kaycee!"

After the king's speech, everyone started clapping as Kaycee went to Cameron to hugged him.

A few minutes later, while Eleanor was talking with Olivia, someone suddenly grabbed Eleanor's arm. When she looked back, it was Kaycee.

The princess urged, "Eva, hurry and come with me now!"

Eleanor then followed the princess, but as they were walking, she noticed that they was walking towards the king. Kaycee said, "Brother, this is Eva. Doesn't she look beautiful?"

When Cameron looked at her, his eyes widened. He lied, "She looks ridiculous. Why would you let a servant wear such a gown?"

"Brother! Apologize to her now!" Kaycee demanded.

"Your highness, it's okay. The king is right. I do look ridiculous," Eleanor interrupted.

"No, He must apologize!" the princess responded.

"Since it's your birthday, then I'll apologize. Sorry for my rudeness just now, Eva," Cameron said.

"It's okay, your majesty. It's nothing," Eleanor responded.

Cameron said, "Now if you would excuse me, I need to go somewhere."

When Cameron left, Kaycee asked, "Did you see that?"

"What do you mean, your highness?" Eleanor responded.

"His eyes widened when he saw you. He might have fallen for you already."

"Your highness, I don't think that's possible. He just told me that I looked ridiculous."

The princess smiled. "Don't you know the saying that boys don't mean what they say? They actually mean the opposite."

Meanwhile...

(In the king's room)

Cameron started walking in circles as he couldn't figure out why his heart was beating so fast when he saw her. What's wrong with him? Why would he like her if there's nothing even special about her?

"You've found the one." a voice said.

"Who's there?" the king looked around.

"It's me, Carson," the prince opened the door.

"Don't tell me you heard everything."

"Oops. I actually heard every single word! You were mesmerized by her beauty weren't you?"

"No, I wasn't. Anyway, just keep it a secret. So could you explain what i was feeling just now?"

"It's simple. You're in love,"

"That's impossible. Don't lie to me."

"I'm not. To be honest, I've also fallen for one of the maids," the prince admitted.

"Who is it?" the king asked.

"It's Olive. Let's just say I fell in love with her at first sight and ever since that day on, I've been stalking her."

"Whose Olive? You shouldn't stalk her. It's really creepy."

"She's Eva's friend. The one who served us food the other day."
