Guard Your Heart

"You like her? Such low standards!" the king laughed.

"Stop that. How will you ever win a girl's heart if all you know is how to say hurtful words?" the prince glared.

"Who said I wanted to win Eva's heart?"

"I didn't mention any name, but you thought of her. It proves you like her."

The king then got embarrassed. "Stop teasing me. I really don't like her."

"Well, it's up to you to decide on your feelings. I've already told you that it's love. But for me, I'll wait for the perfect time to get close to Olive. Then I'll court her."

When Carson left the room, the king thought, "What's wrong with me? No girl has ever made his heart beat this fast. I can't be distracted by anyone or anything now. I have to find the person who murdered father!"

A few hours later, after the party ended, Eleanor was on her way to Kaycee's room to return the dress, but suddenly, someone grabbed her arm and covered her mouth.

"Be quiet," the voice demanded.

A few second later, After releasing her arm, Eleanor asked, "Who are you?"

The voice answered, "It's me, Cameron."

"Cameron?"

"Its me, the king."

After hearing what Cameron said, Eleanor immediately apologized, "I'm sorry, your majesty, I didn't know that your name was Cameron."

"It's okay. What are you doing here in the middle of the night?" the king asked.

"I was gonna return the dress that your sister gave me."

"Don't return it. It's yours."

"Are you sure your majesty? I—"

Before she could even continue, Cameron leaned forward, lifted her chin with his other hand and put his finger on her lips.

The king said, "You talk too much."

Eleanor flushed and responded, "Forgive me, your majesty."

"There are royal soldiers that room around the whole castle every night. They might mistaken you as an intruder. Go back to your room now. It's late."

When Eleanor went back, she instantly closed the door, locked it, and touched her lips.

Olivia asked, "What happened? You look like you've been chased by a ghost."

Eleanor sighed, "The king..."

"The king what?"

"Do you think the king's flirting with me?"

"Eleanor, I know the king's attractive, but flirting with you? Seriously?" Olivia bursted into laughter.

"I'm serious Olivia," Eleanor responded.

"Okay, okay. I believe you, but why would he flirt with you for no reason?"

"You expect me to know the reason?"

"Well, whatever reason that is, you better stay away from him. We just came here a few days ago and you've got his attention."

"I know, but what if he figures out our intentions?"

"If he does figure out our intentions, he'll probably might kill us. So before that happens, we must escape," Olivia responded.

"Olivia, can I be honest with you?" the princess asked.

"Of course. I'm always here for you."

"I think I'm falling for him."

"Really? Just for that? Eleanor! Snap out of it! We're here for the red gem remember! Think about your parents!" Olivia reminded.

"Don't worry, I won't let these feelings affect me. I just idolize him," Eleanor explained.

"That's good then. Keep a low profile. I feel like we're being watched."

The next day...

(At the king's bedroom)

"Brother, why did you wake us up early in the morning?" the princess yawned.

"There's still a long day ahead. What's with the rush?" the prince rubbed his eyes.

"I think I just flirted with the wrong woman," Cameron told them.

"You what? Why did you do that?" Kaycee exclaimed.

"Cam, you must be insane. You're going too fast." Carson laughed.

"I know okay. I think I was drunk," the king admitted.

"What kind of reason is that?" the princess's eyes widened.

Carson explained, "Cam, you shouldn't be doing that if she isn't your fiancé."

"What should I do now? I really feel embarrassed," Cameron said.

"Did someone see you?" the prince asked.

"Nope, It was pitch black," Cameron replied.

"This is my first time seeing you nervous brother," Kaycee said.

"If you aren't sure about your feelings yet, you'd better apologize," the prince stated.

"Wait! Second brother likes Eva? That's great!" the princess rejoiced.

The king denied, "No I don't."

"Yes you do," Carson chuckled.

"Just tell me how to get rid of these feelings, and keep this a secret," Cameron said.

"You can't. Unless you forget about her," the prince responded.

"Just forget it. I have other things to worry about. I have no time to think about this. I need to investigate something," Cameron said.

A few hours later, Cameron requested for Eleanor's presence.

"What can I do for you, your majesty?" Eleanor asked.

"I apologize for yesterday," the king replied.

"It's okay, your majesty. It's not a big deal." Eleanor bowed.

Meanwhile...

(At the village of Pali)

"Sir, Jay has arrived," the servant said.

"Good. Call on the others to explain the things he needs to do," a voice replied.
