7 The Kingdom She Dominated

After a short chat, Eleanor went back to her room and saw Olivia waiting for her.

Olivia folded her arms. "Where have you been? I thought we were gonna play cards?"

"Sorry, but it's because the princess requested for my presence," Eleanor replied.

"What did she say?"

Eleanor then told her everything that happened.

"Then what's the use of you staying here in the castle? Is that even a job?"

Eleanor smiled. "She told me that I will still be getting my monthly salary, so I guess it's a job."

"What?! That's so unfair! Why don't I get to have a job like that?"

"I guess I'm just luckier than you!"

Olivia changed the topic. "By the way, I heard from the other maids that the king went missing a few months ago."

"The princess told me about that. She specifically told me that he went missing eight months ago," Eleanor replied.

"Wait! Did you just say eight months?"

"Yes, what's wrong?"

"What if he was also there? In the cave...?"

"I don't think that's possible. It was probably just a coincidence. We shouldn't be pondering about him. We're aiming for the gem remember?" Eleanor explained.

"Well, you might be right. I guess I was overthinking. Shall we start playing cards then?" Olivia said.

(At the Water kingdom)

The servant told Mia that she had to make a decision since no one's ruling the Water kingdom.

"I can't just simply take the throne without my father's consent. Let's just wait for a few more months," Mia responded.

"Mia, You have to think about this meticulously. You won't rule forever. Once we find your parents, then your father will take his position as king again," Sebastian explained.

Mia agreed, "Okay. Fine. I'll take the throne, but promise me that you'll help me explain this to father once we find him."

A few hours later...

One of the royal messengers announced to the whole Water kingdom that Mia will be Queen, and that Sebastian will be the queen's assistant.

Meanwhile...

(In Sebastian's room)

The queen asked the prince why he didn't want to be king. Sebastian then explained that it was because they weren't married yet. He didn't want people to think that he married her for her social status.

"But aren't you also a prince? You're also part of royalty."

"I'm indeed a prince, but like I said, your status as a princess is higher than mine. People might think we have the same status, but in fact, your parents just took care of me because they pitied me."

"We grew up together. What do you mean they pitied you?"

The prince answered, "On a snowy day, my parents left me in the streets when I was only five because they didn't have enough money to raise me. Then on the same day, your parents found me. They told me that If I marry you when I grow up, they'll help me. Of course, as a child, i didn't know the meaning of marriage, so I just agreed. I didn't have a choice."

"You mean to say that you were actually forced to love me?" the queen asked.

"Mia, it's not what you think. I really do love you."

"Do you expect me to believe that? You're just doing your job as a fiancé because my parents forced you to! If you don't love me, then let's break up. You don't need to follow my parent's order because they aren't here. Once they're back, we can just pretend we're together."

As Mia started walking away with tears all over her face, Sebastian grabbed her arm and pulled her into a hug.

He said, "You have to believe that even if they didn't ask me to, I would still love you. You are my only happiness in this world and I can't lose you. Forgive me Mia."

"Don't ask for an apology because you didn't do anything wrong. I just care for you," Mia responded.

"Does this mean you love me?"

"No, I don't."

"If you care for me, doesn't that mean you love me?" Sebastian brought his face closer to the queen.

The queen blushed. "I don't. You're thinking too much I—"

Before Mia could even finish, Sebastian brushed his lips against hers and said, "I'll keep kissing you if you keep denying the fact that you love me."

Mia then flushed and looked away. "You dare kiss the queen without her consent?"

The prince replied, "Yes, I do dare."

Mia's eyes then widened and she looked at him, but before she could even speak, Sebastian brought her closer to his body and pecked her lips. While his warm soft lips covered hers, she glanced at him and responded to the kiss.

"I said I love you." Sebastian smiled.

"Same goes for me," the queen admitted.

"What? I can't hear you?"

"I said I love you, Sebastian!"

"Now that's what I wanted to hear." Sebastian hugged her tighter.

"I'm sorry for misunderstanding you." She hugged Sebastian back.

"Apology accepted. As long as you kiss me."

"What? No!"

"Give me a peck on the cheek."

"Fine, just don't do anything stupid."

As Mia was about to kiss his cheek, Sebastian turned his head facing her causing her to kiss his lips.

Mia blushed and said, "I thought it was the cheek!"

"I changed my mind." Sebastian laughed.

"You're mean!" Mia started walking away.

Sebastian then grabbed her waist and pulled her into a hug.

"Let's stay like this for a while. I haven't hugged you for so long," Sebastian said.

Mia then stayed quiet as they enjoyed the moment.
