Chapter 11 : Behind the Scenes

" Hiss hiss " The snake was calling Arthur, and Arthur seemed to understand it and said:

"Sorry, I Can't."

Arthur hesitated as a Snake coiled in front of him. It all started two hours ago.

Arthur has discovered a new function of the System: absorbing remnant souls and souls of all those killed or replaced by him in the different worlds. Arthur had always had his doubts why he would suddenly become so bloody and killed in a blink without even batting an eye in the chronicle world. It turned out he was influenced by the soul of Andrew, who saw his future in the hands of the world destined to be the villain who ultimately dies.

This discovery broke a cold sweat on Arthur's back as if he absorbs multiple personalities, would the final result even be him. So Arthur tried to find something from the system store and spent all his 1000 points on the spirit immunity passive, which was immune to all negative buffs. The 1000 point item was worthy of its name and immediately made Arthur regain his mental clarity.

Deciding on making his purchase more impactful, Arthur ran straight to the House of requirements and picked up the crown from the house of requirements. The crown didn't seem to provide him with the wisdom bonus like the legend, to his disappointment.

Ding! External soul detected. Whether to absorb?

Without hesitation, Arthur pressed: " Yes ".With the press of a button, horrible screams started to surround the room, which awakened a thousand-year-old beast residing in the bottom of the castle. All of Voldemort's knowledge, insight and experience of Black magic passed to Arthur. But it still wasn't enough as Tom was still young at that time and not strong enough to throw the entire wizarding world aside like now.

Walking out of the house of requirements, Arthur heard hissing: "Not enough Hungry! Kill! KIll!"

Arthur knew at once who was making that sound. Running all the way to the second floor's bathroom and flying straight to Slytherin's lair and speaking the extremely narcissistic line:

"Speak to me, Slytherin, greatest of the Hogwarts Four."

Arthur saw a basilisk crawl out of the hole with a centaur in its mouth. Seeing Arthur, the basilisk spat out the centaur which he had caught. The Centaur crawled up. Like all giant snakes, the basilisk doesn't poison its meals, which was very lucky for the centaur. When the centaur got up, Artur and his eyes met. Arthur had the gesture to nod and speak to the snake in parseltongue .but the snake. Didn't give him time and sprang straight to him.

Arthur didn't use his mindpowers at all and instead tried using spells to fight him. He cast armour body protection on him and cast a confused charm on the snake. The basilisk lost his sense of direction and rammed into the wall breaking it. Shaking his head off the basilisk opened his blood basin to swallow him whole. Arthur quickly teleported away. Apparition, another tough magic, was perfectly exhibited by Arthur, but his apparition had wisps of purple smoke emit, unlike Death eaters black wisp.

Then for the next 5 minutes, there was rumble followed by hissing, and finally, the basilisk lay pretending to be dead.

Time skip to present.

Arthur spoke to the centaur, who was afraid and lying in the corner.

After speaking to the centaur, Arthur realized his name was Bane, the irritating centaur who despises humans. Arthur thought about it and seemed to see the benefit of "Working" with the centaur. Lifting the huge body of basilisk with his mind powers which to his surprise were enhanced to 100 tons due to merging with Voldemort's soul. Thinking about this, Arthur had quickly developed a workable plan. First instructing the snake and seeing his repeated nodding, Arthur finally let him go to sleep for another year.

The centaur wasn't so lucky. Arthur straightforwardly used the imperious curse instructing the centaur to lay low. Arthur was once again pleasantly surprised to see his imperious curse. With the imperious curse, the controlled body automatically knows the thoughts of the controller. The centaur nodded and returned to the forest.

Seeing this, Arthur was in a good mood, but he ran into the iron trio.

"Hello there, how's it going? "

The trio too discovered Arthur, and Hermione quickly took Arthur's hand and ran away.

Coming to the hallway intersection where Gryffindor and Slytherin's parted ways. Hermione quickly let go of Arthur's hand, her face red, not knowing whether it was from blushing or physical exertion.

Hermione told Arthur of their Adventures as per the plot, and Arthur nodded in understanding.

"No, Hermione, you cannot tell this crucial information to the Slytherin's. These guys will surely leak the whereabouts. That Draco, too, didn't come to the duel. What do you expect....?"

Ron never got to finish his words as he somehow slipped on the spot on the floor and fell on his butt. Seeing his aggrieved face, Arthur was happy. Hermione looked at him and, seeing Arthur's smile rolled her eyes. Then she seemed to remember something and blushed.

Seeing this inexplicable scene, the saviour finally couldn't help but interject; " Let's go now, it's getting late. Filch may catch us anytime now."

Arthur and the trio soon parted ways, and Arthur walked back to the dungeon casting an invisible spell on himself humming a song as the moon shone upon the quiet Hogwarts castle.

"Seems like I somehow became the black hand behind the scenes", Arthur was thinking to himself as finally, the long lost system prompt came to Arthur.

Ding. Collected enough energy to the open-world portal. Calculating the best possible opening time.

Arthur's face immediately became serious. Not knowing the next world always put on a haze on his future. Arthur also noticed that the system became very humane whenever a new world is generated, making him even more suspicious.

" Cross the bridge when I come to it ", making him relaxed once again, determined to face future challenges.
