15) Baseball......

It was the weekend and both families were getting ready to go place baseball, Rosalie and Cory dressed up Artemis in a Toronto Blue Jay's jersey and cap before heading out. They were the only ones not there yet besides Bella and Edward since he needed to go pick her up and bring her, even his parents were joining so it would be more relaxed.

When they got out the car Rosalie took Artemis's hand and they walked over to the rest of the family, he sent out 'Thing 2' who found the nomads twenty miles away who were just relaxing. Though they said in the movie that they were heading out of town it looked more along the lines that they heard them playing and just came over to check it out.

They did know the Cullen's were in town though and were just trying to cause chaos, Cory looked at Alice and wondered how she hadn't seen them until they found out they were playing. Ignoring that he had it watch them while he walked over to Artemis and his dad, he was showing her how to properly swing a bat.

His dad actually played baseball despite being a pure-blood he was really into muggles things and knew that they were leaving behind Wizards who never changed. From the stories he heard from his mom and dad he didn't know what to expect from Dumbledore but he seemed like a good person not like the dark ones he read in Fan-Fics.

Artemis had her tongue sticking out as she concentrated on what was being taught to her, he could see his dad holding himself back from bringing her into a tight bear hug. The girl was just way to adorable for her own good, he thought at first she was just acting but according to her after she woke up from her slumber she really was just a child again.

He figured it had something to do with her being in a state of hibernation and the fact that they used his and Rosalie's blood and that effected her. Ignoring it for now he smiled as they chose teams, it was him, Jasper, his mom, Emmett, and Edward vs. Carlisle, Rosalie, Artemis, His dad, Alice, and Becky

Esme and Bella were going to be umpire, Esme came for the enjoyment while Bella would keep things fair for the ones who were supernaturally strong. They used their ultimate weapon Artemis's puppy eyes and their team got to bat first, no one could say no when they were arguing over who was going first.

Cory laughed at that he was the pitcher for their team, his mom on second while Edward, Jasper, and Emmett were outfielders. Artemis was first to bat so they all moved in he threw underhand while controlling his strength to make it land right where she was swinging.

No one on his team argued as she ran to each base after hitting it two feet which made he get a homerun of the game, though they all almost laughed when she looked at them smugly. Carlisle was next and he managed to hit it hard enough to make it to third but Edward had thrown it back already by the time he was rounding to it.

Rosalie was up next and she shot him a wink but he wasn't going to take it easy like he did with Artemis, though the little girl was standing there conflicted not knowing who to cheer for. Her hit was stronger than Carlisle's but she was called out when she made it home, this went on for a moment before they got Alice out for trying to steal a base.

When they switched his mom batted first and was able to get a single before Alice froze on the mount, Edward only knew what was going on by hearing the thoughts of the nomads coming. They all grouped up with Edward apologizing to Bells, Carlisle and his dad took to standing in front while him and Rosalie stood at the car with Artemis.

He wasn't worried thought but assured Rosalie who was wringing her hands, "Don't worry I masked Artemis's sent along with my parents the only one here who has to worry is Bella."

Rosalie smiled and kissed his cheek while playing with Artemis, he saw Edward look back and shoot him a glare but he shrugged it wasn't his responsibility to protect her it as his. The other Cullen's heard him to and they didn't blame him except maybe for Carlisle and Esme but that was because they spoiled Edward he wasn't going to be apart of that.

"So what do you two want to do tonight?" Cory asked distracting them from the wanna be rock band that was walking out of the fog.

"I don't know how about a movie night? What do you think Artemis?" Rosalie said while scratching the tip of Artemis's nose.

"Yeah Movies!" she cheered while clapping her hands.

"Well then movie night it is." The three were ignoring the conversation currently happening but it was fine since Cory never planned to get involved with this unless it was the fights in the Eclipse then he honestly didn't care.

His mom walked over and she started talking to him about summer plans since school only had a week left until it was out, "I sent an owl to Gringotts and my family account manager has set a meeting for the first week of summer so we can go when school is out."

"That's fine, are you and dad going to take the lordships of your houses?" he wanted to know since it would determine how much they actually needed to involve themselves in the Britain magical world. If they did he would plan ahead and help with the battle of Hogwarts but if they didn't then he was just going to let them fight for themselves since he knew they would win.

"Me and your father talked and we have decided to go ahead and run our houses, we got the letters already letting us know we are the last surviving members while it would also help you get into Hogwarts. We are also planning to adopt Rosalie that would help get her in too." His mom said looking at Rosalie with hopeful eyes.

Rosalie smiled and teared up a little she already knew she was on a different path then the rest of the Cullen's after learning about magic so she wasn't to surprised by the offer. "Of course, I hoped that you would ask and that you all wouldn't just leave me behind here."

His mom hugged both her and Artemis, "Of course not dear, though it might be harder to get you into Hogwarts since you actually don't have any real magic and we don't know how a wand will effect you we still want you along."

"Mommy where are you going?" Artemis asked confused by the conversation since they hadn't told her anything about this yet.

"No where sweetheart." she told her while smiling at her and taking Cory's hand.

Looking over at the field they were already done and Edward was walking over quickly while shooting him another glare he didn't even say anything as he sped off with Emmett on the back. The rest of the Cullen's started to make a plan they asked for his family's help to but he declined saying that they could handle it, he told them a much easier way to finish it off while also telling them not to trust Laurent.

The looked at his family for a moment before leaving, Rosalie followed saying she would help out so it would be over quicker, he wasn't happy about it but told her to go. Artemis told her to hurry back this might have caused a little hard feelings between them but he never promised to actually help them out with problems they caused.

Knowing that the world was bigger and there was more serious battles that he could be having rather than simple despites over a girl who was social awkward and moody. Hell he thought that they should just go ahead and change her after graduation or sooner but Eddy was an idiot who would rather her be in danger at every turn then make her safer.

Him and his parents along with Artemis got into their car and headed home, the mood had been killed and since it was just them they couldn't really play anymore. Along the way they talked more about what was going to happen this summer and they all agreed that they should get a house in London rather than living at a family manor.

Artemis asked all sorts of questions and learning that she was going somewhere new she was super excited and couldn't stop from bouncing excitedly in her car seat on the way home. A couple hours later Rosalie came back with a frown and he looked at her with worry, "What's wrong?"

She hesitated but told him, "They didn't follow your advice about stopping James and instead made a stupid plan about luring him in another direction out of town. It didn't work and he fled somewhere, his mate Victoria is also in the wind and they aren't together now so Alice and Jasper took Bella somewhere."

"That's not it either is it?" He asked his parents were shaking their heads but they didn't say anything but kept playing Uno with Artemis who was frowning at the many cards in her hands.

"No they also believed Laurent when he came and spoke to them about wanting to leave James and Victoria. I know what you mean know he is a coward who was just afraid of dying with them, I gave the Denali Coven a heads up about him coming. Hopefully they listen." she said walking over to them and sitting next to him while leaning her head on his shoulder.

"Well it is their own fault for that, but why didn't you stick around until the end?" he asked curious.

"Well I would have but their plan was just to sit around and wait until they had a clue about something, though now they are heading to meet up with Alice and them so I saw no point. It is overkill anyway cause if they find him it will be seven on one or two they didn't need me." She looked down at Artemis who was playing a draw two card that eventually made her draw six sitting there stunned at what just happened.

Her cute pouting expression made the downhearted room warm up, "That's no fair Grandma and Grandpa you are bullying me." she said setting her cards down apparently she was done since they weren't going to take it easy on her.

His parents laughed along with them, "Well how about we have that movie night now then?" he said making her perk up.

"Yay! I want popcorn, candy, and a big soda.... oh also make sure the popcorn has extra butter me and momma both like extra butter." she told him while climbing into Rosalie's lap she put in an order and knew that he would go do it for them, "Grandma can you put in Frozen 2?" she asked excitedly.

The whole family smiled and forgot about what was happening with the Cullen's Artemis just had that effect to make them not worry and she brightened up the room. Cory got to getting the things she wanted while his mom put in the movie, they decided to join them for the movie night, Nissy stood off to the side and looked at Artemis with pleading eyes.

Artemis noticing her opened her mouth wide, "Oh sorry Nissy can you go help daddy?"

Nissy was like a kid opening a toy at Christmas and nodded vigorously like her head would fall off any moment before going to rush and do everything before he could even stop. Cory stopped and was going to go sit back down but heard Artemis say, "Daddy don't stop go help Nissy!" he could only smile wryly since he really wouldn't be any help to her.
