Chapter 26 The Avalanche

A thin slime shield emerges from Jacko's robe. It then slowly transformed into the red color, heating up both Rift and Jacko from the inside. "I don't care what happens to me anymore, besides. I died a long time ago." He told. Jacko twitches his brow, realizing that Rift didn't try moving earlier when he pulled him away from the hostile chest. Jacko shook his head. "We'll try." Jacko told. Rift scoffed. "Yeah, I might as well try going out with a bang. Wouldn't that be fun?" He told. Jacko kept walking, he had too much in his head right now. Too tired. Rift followed, he tried to speak again, but he finally got to hint. Instead, he looked around the ice terrain.

Jacko no longer paid attention to his surroundings. He tried to process everything that had happened. Everything was happening way too fast. His anger, his grief, his fatigue. Will he able to save Rift?

One of the ice pillars began to collapse, snapping Jacko out of his thought train. Rift then held Jacko's arm. "Dude, let me fight." Rift told. His face was worried, even angry. He refused to just be a casualty. "Rift..." Jacko saw a large ice sculpture, biting through the other ice. No, it wasn't a sculpture. Transparent blue scales formed a terrifying dragon's head, it's teeth were fractals of ruined crystals and it's neck seemed to be sprouted from the ground. The two shook, realizing that this Dragon's neck was twice taller than the Crystal Dragon before.

Rift gulped and grabbed Jacko's robe. "I have no regrets. Buff me up." Rift told. Jacko's eyes widened with rage. "WHY DO YOU WANT TO DIE!" He finally snapped, he yells at Rift. "I'M ALREADY FUCKING DEAD! Ever since I killed those people, I'm already a dead man! I barely have anything to come back to. So fucking what if I live here? It's all shit..." Rift finally told. Jacko gritted his teeth. "Then tell me! Why did you kill them!?" Jacko said.

The dragon heard some ants in his territory yelling.

Rift let's go of his robe. "Revenge." He told. "I sneaked into the Grayhold Castle to murder a Master's family. But my real goal? To kill that same family that killed mine." Rift told. Jacko was taken aback. Now that he thought about it, he barely knew this man. The time they had was very short. Why would he have had sympathy for a man who killed for revenge? Clarity hit him. Why with this guy?

Rift saw Jacko's mixed emotions. "But then, an idiot like you...I don't know, but ma gut told me that you're gonna be something. So I came with you. You just kept on helping me out without even thinking about." Rift told. Jacko then looked up at him. "What have I ever done or you?" He then turned to the dragon. It's ice eyes looked directly at them. "So buff me up, it's about time I repay it all." Rift told.

Jacko laid his palm on his back. "I just thought you were pretty cool." Jacko said. He tried to express his grief, but nothing else came out of his mouth. "Jacko. You're a better man than me." Rift said.

The dragon then opened it's ice jaws, it's wings then suddenly rose from the terrain, snow being thrown around everywhere. Followed by a screech that sounded like gurgling ice.

"I'll see you in hell." Jacko told, with a cracked voice of guilt.

His palm then glows at his back, slime beginning to consume Rift's body. He screamed in pain, he had went through this process before. This is way too different! His skin began to get seeped into by the slimes and his heart began to harden. "Jack-oo...What is this!?" Rift yelled, the pain becoming more and more unbearable.

The Avalanche Dragon notices something a tiny approaching it in the distance, it then spreads it's icy mist all around it. Instead of being slowed down, it felt it's chin being completely chipped upwards. It's blue eyes laid upon the ant.

It was a golem-like creature, with fiery wings and it's fists shaped like blades crackling with electricity. It's mouth resembled more of the face of the early Grom.

The creature then continued to keep punching up the Dragon's tough chin, chipping it's scales and flesh. It then immediately devours the creature. It then felt it's jaws being lifted up by the abomination. Electricity then stinging the tongue of the beast.

The Dragon hardens the mists with it's mouth and pushes the creature out by having an Ice ball pushing it out. The dragon then forms icicles all within it's ice mist range. They are then constantly recreated immediately once they are launched towards the abomination. However, it then began dodging them with ease, heading back for the dragon's head.

It's wings then covered the way, further freezing it's wings to create a wall of ice to block it. The abomination crashes to the wall, then it dug it's fists into the ice.

The sounds of ice cracking can be heard, steel then emerging from the other side of the wall. The abomination then pulls it's arms out, large steel fingers dug into the flesh of the wings are then forced to be opened up.

The dragon then found the opportunity to give a direct hit of its powerful Frost Breath.

The steel then gathers the parts of the wings and immediately fused them to create a giant Ice Scale Shield, using it to redirect the beam into its neck. The Dragon then roared in pain, it's head recoiling and blasting it's beam at top of the icy ceiling. The golem then flew with flames trailing behind him.

Suddenly the Dragon formed a large Ice Dome around the abomination, slowly shrinking it and forcing the Ice Ball to crush the abomination from within.

The Ice ball only explodes, then Icicle Spears with Steel poles attached to them were thrown to the Dragon's chest.

The Dragon's head then charges towards the man again, pushing it's snout to the man's chest and bringing him to the icy ground. Ice mist from it's nostrils then began freezing it's body. "Sh-shit..." Breathing started to slow down, he felt his body growing numb. "I hope ya don't turn into a monster." He slowly closed his eyes within the slime armor....

The dragon then felt something tiny step on his neck. It didn't bother, it wanted nothing more than seeing this insolent abomination turned into a block of ice.

Jacko hopped off his own Water Dragon after watching the battle from above, stepping on the Dragon's neck where there was a frozen part. Atlantis then swooped down to break down the ice with it's watery claws. Jacko then forces his hand to go through the exposed flesh st the neck.

"DIE!" He yelled, summoning Fire Slimes to appear inside it's neck.

The dragon then raised up it's head, feeling a bunch of slimy fidgeting within his neck.

Explosions soon followed, flames being spread all over it's neck and body. The dragon roared, fearing the pain and flames.

The last thing it sees before it's head being blown off into pieces of icicle scales, was a young green man riding a Slime Dragon...

Jacko then jumped off from his Dragon, landing on the frozen abomination. Using his ground slime arm to punch off Grom's face above the body. Jacko then gasps, then jumping back seeing Rift's frozen face. "Rift..." He felt his heart sting. He then yelled. "YOU WERE SO CLOSE!"

He collapsed, looking away from the body, then he looked up at his own dragon.

The Avalanche Dragon's body soon disintegrated into balls of light, this time they started to surround Atlantis. The watery dragon's body suddenly turned into crystallized scales of its watery self.

The dragon then landed before Jacko, staring it's master in his eyes with its blank bubble stare. Jacko then clicked his tongue, standing up and delivering a punch at the dragon's snout. He gasped at what he had done. The dragon didn't react much tho, it just stared at him once more. "What are you looking at!?" Jacko yelled.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" He then scratched his head, hissing and seething in anger. "I HATE THIS! WHY DO I...FEEL SO TERRIBLE...NO...ITS SHIT! I FEEL LIKE SHIIT!" Jacko yelled to the empty terrain. Atlantis rubbed it's head to Jacko's shoulder. Jacko sighed, looking up at the sky.

A red beacon then appeared in the distance, with runes floating around it. "I'll... I'll finish this and that's it." Jacko said. "I don't want to do this shit anymore...I just wanted to help. I just..." Jacko held his face with his hand.

He then felt something strange flowing out of his eyes. He wiped the liquid and then stared at it.
