Chapter 1Chapter 1

The beautiful, bright moon illuminated the dark night. Most people at this time were either sleeping, while some were working, but it's clear to say that the night is always calm. From how silent certain areas were compared to daytime. Night was the time for the people to rest, yet some prefer to do their dirty business at this time, such as prostitutes, assassins, etc.

In a certain area on the outskirts of the city, there lies a young man wearing all black clothing. He's laid on the ground as he stares at the bright moon. A calm smile is planted on his face, his expression showing the complete opposite of the situation he was in right now. This young man was bleeding; at this very moment, he was laying in the pool of his blood. It's a mystery how this man is still alive, but the biggest question is, how did he even get to this dire situation? Well, to find the answer to that question, we'd have to go back a few minutes prior to the present.

A young man named Travis is currently on his way to a warehouse on the edge of the city. He was driving a black car which matched his whole attire, calming music played on the radio as he drove towards his destination.

"This is the last mission I'll do for them. After this, I'll take a well-deserved vacation somewhere covert. I can already feel myself relaxing for once," he thought as he sat back while driving.

Travis was an assassin, not many people knew about him, which made him even more valuable in his work. The only people that knew him were the ones who needed someone or a group of people gone, if they could afford his prices, of course. His main reason for his work being highly pricey is due to how cleanly he does the job. He left not a single hint. Every time police came to the scene, they would see absolutely nothing that could lead them to him. All his kills were unique, not having a pattern. The forensics would always think it was a different killer.

No one really knew his face, so he could walk around the city in the day, but the second night strikes, he's off towards some politician's house and murdering him while he's asleep.

Today is his last mission; he now wants to settle down and create a family that he'll take care of for the rest of his life. He has billions upon billions in all the currencies; he spread all his money around the world, so he didn't seem suspicious. He never used much of his money in the past, maybe the occasional change of clothes or shoes, but other than that, everything is still normal; he even lives in a small apartment alone.

Everything in life is going well; he just needs somebody to love, and right now, he has literally no one that fits that description. Well, time will tell. Travis soon arrived at the warehouse; there was darkness surrounding the whole base as it seemed there was a power outage. He left his car in some random place in the tree line and leaped over the tall fence. Also, Travis has a super body, a rare genetic mutation that makes all his normal characteristics turn super. He could hear and smell from far, which is very useful in his job.

When entering, he saw no one, which was something that he had planned. Normally, there are many guards in this place, but on this day specifically, which is Wednesday, every guard would go inside and play some cards. The warehouse housed a very rare material that some random world leader wanted to possess. In fact, this wasn't an assassination mission but just a retrieval, even though it wasn't his. So Travis began to sprint, dodging anything that looked like a trap. Soon he got to the door where he slowly opened and looked inside. The loud laughs of the guards came from the other side of the building, meaning there wasn't anyone here, he presumed, of course.

He entered and looked around; this place was very large and had an echo, this meant he had to be stealthy. Luckily he had mastered the art of walking silently, so he had no problem walking around the place. He remembered what the description of the package was like, and when seeing it, he quickly ran towards it.

"Guess that mission is half complete. I still need to get out of this place," he thought.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of a man pulling a gun on him. He slowly turned back and saw a person walking to him with a gun held up to his head. Travis raised his hand as the man walked up to him. When he got close enough for him to strike, he did so. This guy was skilled, meaning Travis had to be careful; no normal guard would pull up to him without him noticing.

He swiftly went under the gun without him having time to react; he smacked the gun up, making him lose balance from its weight. This burst his expectations, yet he didn't have any time to think about that.

*Bang*

*Bang*

Shots were fired from the gun as the man fell; Travis began to run as fast as he could. The very next second, the alarm went off. A bright light shone on Travis as he ran on the field towards the fence; loud shouting could be heard while he ran, the guards were on his tail, but with his super body, Travis was able to leap over the fence, and the second he hit the ground, he continued to run.

The other guards came out with their vehicles and chased after him; he now had zero chances of getting out of this, so he stopped running and turned back as he began to shoot at them with his pistol.

All his shots killed a person, but his bullets weren't enough to kill them all; he quickly pulled out a magazine and as he was about to reload, a sniper who was very far off in his tower shot Travis right in the chest.

Yet the adrenaline was still at its peak; he went on to kill many more other guards, this was the messiest job he has ever done in his life, but even he understood that he wasn't going to make it out of this alive, and with one last shot from the sniper, Travis fell back down.

Now that we're caught up, let's continue. The guards ran up to him and took the package; they took it back, and the others huddled around Travis as they watched him.

"What's up with this guy? He took two shots from a sniper, but he can still breathe. Is he some kind of terminator?" One of them asked.

"That isn't important. Now put him out; after that, call the boss and tell him about this," one mature guy said.

Just like that, a person pulled out a gun and pointed it at his face. Travis, who had an inch of strength left, pulled a string connected to his phone.

"At least let me die while I'm still invisible," he thought. The phone began to heat up, and the next second...

*Booooom*

A large explosion erupted from his phone. Turns out the person who he had bought this from added a little too much gunpowder. Well, it didn't matter anymore; Travis was no more, and so was the guy that was about to kill him. Yet this wasn't the end of the young man's story. No, instead, this was the start.
