Chapter 22

After they took attendance, Ryan sat on the pedestal in the front and looked at the whole class. All of them were quiet; none could say anything, except for the dude in Eleanor's head.

"This man is scanning your aura. So do not fret, for he doesn't harbor any evil intentions."

"It's not like I'd be able to do anything if he did. You saw how fast he was, right?"

"No, I cannot see anything except darkness, but I do feel your emotions and I sense great distress in your heart."

"I mean, look at this guy. He looks like a villain right from those weird picture books they've been making these days," she said.

Ryan stared at them all with his bright yellow eyes, making them feel a shiver run down their spine.

"Okay, kids, today we'll be learning all about the world's longest-running empire, the Savior Unit. This empire is comprised of all the kingdoms in the world.

Let's start from the beginning, though. The empire was founded by William Hill and his wife, Samantha Hill. These two named the empire and went on a journey to find the lands in this world. In their journey, they made good friends with the other leaders of the world and soon made them join their empire. This gave birth to our kingdom, Admys.

As time goes on and the kingdom grows, they take more land until they've had enough and decide to live calmly with no problems. Then one day, a discovery is made. Other races besides humans walk the planet. You see William smiling in happiness, so he and his wife and two children named Kaleb and Rose arrive at the first kingdom, which was located deep in the forest, the largest one in the whole world. This is where the elves resided. Elves are a peaceful race that don't have any ill intentions. Some say they were created in the image of angels from how good-natured they were. That's what they are now, of course.

But don't let that fool you; elves are a strong race. They have long dominated over the many beasts that lived together with them in the forest. Moving on, William and his family arrive. They see the beautiful scenery and think, 'Wow, is this Heaven?'

Yet things go bad quickly, and they are soon running away from a large snake. Now remember, this was way before we knew magic existed. But then a beautiful girl wearing green robes falls from the sky and kicks the large snake in the head, sending it hundreds of yards away.

Back then, elves were a dominant tribe that believed in being strong. So moving on, William meets the king, who is surprisingly a calm dude. Kaleb falls for the hot elf girl and somehow got her to marry him. Time goes on, and the great fall arrives. Now, this is the peak of our history.

In this arc, we learn three things: there are more races, more specifically, there are four: elves, devils, angels, and vampires. The other thing is mana and aura combined, and lastly, the world is much bigger than anyone thought. But let's stop there for now."

This made them all groan in disappointment. They really wanted to hear more of the story, even though they already knew, but Mr. Ryan told the story much better than the books.

"Okay, class, I want you all to pick a category. There are four categories that can be taken. Firstly, it's a mage. Mages work with magical abilities, like casting power spells and so on.

Secondly, physical type. This means you use your hands to fight. This has many disadvantages, but I won't tell you not to pick this one. But I'm sure none of you will.

Thirdly, swordsmanship. You use your long or short blade to slay your enemies. This is the most picked, which is sad because most people that die in adventures are swordsmen. I'm joking, y'all. I'm not.

Fourth and lastly, cultivator. I don't know much since it's a new subject. All I know is that some people have sex just to get stronger. Tell me if that's not cool, and I'll personally kill you. Now that we're done, it's time to choose. You have two minutes."

He passed everyone a sheet of paper and a pen in which they had to write their name and tick off the box.

Nathan and Eleanor had obvious picks being swords. They both enjoyed sword fighting, also their spiritual weapons were swords, so they didn't need much time to think.

Two minutes later, Ryan collected all the papers and put them on his desk. He then took a marker and wrote something on the board.

"These are your subjects, the name of the teacher, and their room number. I'll be teaching you combat, so be ready for the last period. Also, don't worry - all the classes are on the first floor. You all will be going to the next class when the bell rings, okay? You have about 10 minutes before the siren rings, so have some small talk with your new classmates, okay?" He then went and sat at his desk and began reading everyone's sheets.

"Wow, I can't help but think this school is going to be fun," Nathan said with a voice filled with excitement.

"I agree. This place is fun, also the things we saw on our tour made me more convinced about this school. I hope I have a good time here," she said.

"Like we said before, there's nothing that will tear us apart."

[And no, it's not foreshadowing.]

"Yeah!" Nathan said.

They continued to speak until the 10 minutes were up. The siren rang, meaning it was now time for them to go to their next class, which, according to their timetable, was Aura Class. The two got up and left. They didn't bother socializing with any other students, not because they thought they were better, but because they didn't feel like it. The class was located in the same block as the one they were in, so they only had to observe the room numbers on the doors. They soon reached the class.

Eleanor and Nathan sat in the same spot as before and watched as the class filled up with their classmates. There was no teacher, just to add, well until the next second when she appeared.

"Hello class, it's nice to meet you all. I'm your Aura teacher, Ms. Bond, and I'll be teaching you all there is to know about your Aura and how to make it useful in your everyday life or even your career path. Aura is very important these days. There is almost nothing in the world that is powered by Aura, and that's why it's mandatory that we teach you this in school.

My class won't be hard in any way. All you need to do is comply with my instructions and do your best to keep up with your fellow students because not all of us are born with talent. Some of you are hard workers, while some are simply born like this. Remember, having talent does not mean you are better than anyone else in this class. There are countless hardworking individuals who can easily best a talented person in whatever they are good at. Why? Discipline is the answer to that question, so if you teach yourself how to be disciplined, there is nothing in this world you cannot attain.

Now, remember, you are all equal. I do not care about your status. To me, that is irrelevant. If you think that highly of your status, then remember, if war breaks out due to your dumb choices, the whole kingdom will be against your family. I'm sure you can imagine how bad that would be. So I hope that we have that clear. Now, let's begin!"
