Chapter 31

Ana also thinks it's a normal thing for me to be in the same group with guys, but since I trust her judgment I'd have to cope with it. I ate supper before going back to my room. Since I was too angry after meeting Mr Gupta, I didn't explain anything to Jennie so I decided to call her before going to bed. I called her for the first time and her number was busy. Jennie wasn't the type to be making calls so I wonder who she was talking to over the phone. I tried again after thirty minutes and it was still busy. I guessed she was talking to an important person or she was talking about an important issue so I decided to let her be. I was really feeling bored alone in the room so I decided to go for a walk around the vicinity.

Since I wanted to enjoy the good night breeze, I left my car behind . After convincing Ana enough, I was given less than an hour to return home.

"How do you expect me to get a boyfriend if you keep being so over protective ", I said mockingly before heading out. I walked straight along the long road leading to the supermarket with no particular destination in mind. I was so occupied with my phone that I bumped into someone and almost fell.

"I'm sorry", the person apologized. The voice sounded familiar so raised my head to find who it was after steadying myself . Keenan.

I wondered what he was doing in my neighborhood at that time.

"Keenan?" I finally found my voice and called his name out.

"Ash?", he also replied my call with my name.

"What are you doing here?", we asked in unison.

"I leave there", I decided to reply first pointing towards my house which was just a few distance away from where we bumped into each other.

"Really?", he asked surprised

"Yes"

"Since when?"

"We have lived here for quite a long time now, why do you ask?",

"That's my house too", he said pointing at a beautifully fenced house along the road I was heading towards. The distance between our houses wasn't that far apart so how come we never met each other. 'Maybe because I don't usually go out', I thought.

"I see", I simply replied.

"So where are you headed to?", he asked trying to engage in a conversation.

"Nowhere in particular, just taking a stroll", I said.

"Mind if I join?", he requested. He isn't someone who was very friendly so I was wondering why the sudden friendliness.

"I even need to return home, I'm sure Ana is getting worried", I declined

"I see… then let me walk you home", he said and all I could do was give a nod. He walked me to the gate of my house and waited for me to go in before he turned to leave. Even though we walked together, we kept some distance so there would be no body contact. I said goodbye to him before entering my boring house. I felt relived after going for the walk so i didn't feel any tension anymore. I walked straight to my room after making my presence known to Ana to have a good rest . I jumped on my bed and immediately fell asleep within a short period since I had nothing more to think about.
