67 #67 Discussion 2

"All right, let's continue, we have already heard both sides of the story but it is undeniable that the only side that suffered is Class C, therefore, we would first like to hear Class D's defense against this case." Tachibana quickly recovered from what just happened between Yuichi and Class C's homeroom teacher before she explained, looking towards the Class D's side.

Yuichi glanced to his left and saw that Horikita was keeping her eyes down, remaining completely silent. Despite Yuichi's earlier outburst, she still remained mute.

'Physical stimulation works best to wake somebody up from daydreaming but there is also another way when it comes to prideful people like Horikita...' Yuichi thought and he was ready to bear Horikita's hate later.

"What a pathetic sight. Trying to gain someone's recognition with such a pitiful performance? You won't gain it even from me and I have very low standards." Yuichi muttered in low cold voice, Class C's side most likely didn't catch the words he just said but Manabu, Chabashira, Sudo, and most importantly Horikita did.

Chabashira slightly widened her eyes as she glanced at Yuichi.

Finally, as if she knew those words were aimed at her, Horikita raised her head as she looked at Yuichi with a surprised yet confused expression. Some people might describe her current expression as unbearably cute but Yuichi just looked down on her with cold eyes.

'He is looking down on me!'

"What is it? I thought that all of us have some kind of job in this deliberation but it looks like you weren't needed after all. If you want, I can take over your job too, just make sure not to slam the door shut behind you. In the end, it will end like it always did, you being useless while others around you doing all the work." Yuichi said with an arrogant smirk while shooing her off with his hand.

Her cute expression immediately distorted into an extremely angry one as she began gritting her teeth while glaring into Yuichi's cold eyes. Even Manabu was slightly surprised to see his sister act so upset.

Horikita clenched her fist with her face red as a tomato but most likely not from embarrassment.

"May I have a word?" Horikita finally stood up and asked Tachibana while her hand was still slightly shaking in anger.

Tachibana just nodded her head with a neutral expression.

"If it is the truth that only Sudo-kun called Komiya over to the special building. Why is it that Komiya came with 2 more people?" Horikita asked with folded arms and harsh expression. She was currently venting out her anger on them.

'They are done for' Yuichi thought with an amused smile but he was aware that this wouldn't come without consequences.

"W-well, I wanted to make sure that nothing bad happens to me...After all, Sudo is known for being a very aggressive and good fighter." Komiya slightly flinched under Horikita's glare before he explained himself.

"And you are trying to tell me that 3 of you weren't able to stop Sudo from beating you up? Don't you think that's a bit ridiculous?" Horikita asked in a sarcastic tone.

"We didn't want to fight anyone! It was all one-sided aggression." Komiya explained.

"Are you saying that you didn't want to fight but you still called 2 more people? Why? Were you trying to intimidate him not to start the fight with you?"

"That's right! We know about Sudo's aggressive behavior so we wanted to pressure him with sheer numbers."

"But that doesn't add up. I know a bit about martial arts myself and I am aware that fighting multiple enemies makes it much harder to win. Not to mention Ishizaki's reputation for being a troublemaker during his Junior High" Horikita said and took out some papers from her bag before putting it in the middle of the large table.

Tachibana retrieved those papers and looked at it.

"These people can account for Ishizaki being a troublemaker and very violent, maybe even more than Sudo-kun himself." Horikita explained as Tachibana showed the papers to Manabu sitting in the middle of 2 sides fighting each other.

"We can easily confirm those facts by confirming those people's past and origins" Manabu acknowledged that that information brought to him was most likely right but he didn't say anything else, instead he looked towards Class C's side for the explanation.

"We had no idea about Ishizaki-kun's previous reputation because he behaved himself in this school, definitely much better than Sudo. Plus I already said that we didn't want to fight, it only served to pressure Sudo not to start anything."

Horikita wanted to continue but she was interrupted by someone's laugher

"Ha-ha-ha" Yuichi who was silently sitting with his eyes closed and folded arms finally reacted by laughing at Class C's words of "not wanting to fight"

Everyone turned at him, most of them were frowning down, including Horikita but Manabu raised his eyebrow in anticipation.

"Humans are interesting species, we are so close to the animals in many ways but I believe two of the closest instincts we share is an instinct to procreate and instinct of Self-preservation." Yuichi said with a smile while showing 2 fingers on his extended hand towards the Class C's side.

"Self-preservation includes pain and fear, Pain motivates the individual to withdraw from damaging situations while fear causes the individual to seek safety and may cause a release of adrenaline. Are you telling me that 3 of you ignored your inborn instincts to protect yourself from harm just because you didn't want to have a problem with the school? Simply said...laughable" Yuichi folded his arms once again and explained with an amused smile.

"...Humans don't have to always behave like animals- being attacked, immediately strike back. When there is no real danger to one's life, the individual might choose to bear with the pain just not to bear consequences later." Their teacher had to step in and help them a bit since 3 of them weren't the brightest students and had no idea how to respond.

"Of course, such behavior isn't that weird but in modern society, I think that every human has some kind of self-respect and when attacked, he knows that he has a right to defend himself. However, there are also cases when they simply bear with it while having an ulterior motive in mind." Yuichi replied while shrugging his shoulders.

"Student Iwamura, are you trying to suggest that this was a set-up?" Sakagami asked with a furrowed brow.

"If they had no desire to fight then how can you explain their injuries? A normal person wouldn't beat anyone senseless without a reason not to mention, there were 3 of you, you could have run away, you could have played to be knocked out, you could have done so many things that would prevent you from getting such injuries yet you did nothing of sort." Horikita replied in Yuichi's stead with folded arms.

"That's a good argument" Chabashira muttered with a smile.

"Sudo isn't a normal person! He didn't stop even when we were down on the ground." Komiya slightly raised his voice, maybe out of nervousness.

"There was a student who witnessed the entire fight." Horikita cut him off short with a cold tone.

When they heard her words, they grew quiet and a bit of nervousness was visible on their faces.

Horikita called Sakura to the room and when she walked in, she was completely trembling when she noticed everyone's stares. She looked at Yuichi who just closed his eyes and flashed her an encouraging smile, showing off his white teeth with his hands behind his head in a relaxed manner.

"*You are taking it pretty well*" Chabashira whispered to Yuichi while Horikita began arguing with Class C's teacher due to his distrust in Sakura being a real witness.

"*Well, the outcome is already decided*" Yuichi whispered back with a faint smile.

"*Oho?*" Chabashira looked intrigued by his reply.

"*Horikita-san will solve it when they will expect it the least*" Yuichi added, not to cause any misunderstanding but Chabashira just released a faint smile. It was unknown if she trusted his words or not.

Sakura was questioned why she didn't step forward much sooner and in the end, she revealed that she has the proof of being present during the fight. A few of "Shizuku's" photos were revealed to everyone inside the room but Manabu quickly found the right photo of Sakura taking a selfie with Sudo and 3 other students pushing each other in the background.

Despite this evidence Class C's homeroom teacher still insisted that Sakura could be forced into giving a phony testimony and he was slightly in right, Sakura had a lot of time to step forward and end it all but she stepped forward only now which was viewed as suspicious.

"*ugh, how annoying...*" Yuichi muttered under his nose, fed up with Sakagami-sensei's endless twisting of facts.

--------------

"May I?" Yuichi raised his hand and interrupted Horikita from replying to another Sakagami-sensei's argument.

"I thought that teachers should have minimal involvement in this discussion...Not like I mind Sakagami-sensei's eagerness to get "justice" for his students but I think they have been quiet for quite some time already. Why is it that only Sakagami-sensei is speaking in their defense but they are completely mute? Shouldn't they be able to defend themselves?" Yuichi asked with a confused expression.

"Iwamura-kun, my problem here is that those photos can be easily manipulated and even with that photo, we can't be sure who started the fight. After all, we can't trust the words of a student from Class D. She can give phony testimony just to save her classmate." Sakagami-sensei in a slightly provoking tone.
