Commissioning the Blacksmith Neighbor

The day came and went

The next day arrived

Tenshi opened the door, served Guy and cleaned the cafe before taking out the OPEN sign, propping it up outside.

He held his hips and smiled, letting out a breath.

Tenshi walked outside and looked at the Cafe from the street, rubbing his chin.

Guy held his cup and walked out, sipping from it as he looked at the cafe next to Tenshi, asking "What are you looking at?" Tenshi tapped his nose, asking "Do you think that the entrance is a bit lifeless?" Guy sipped his coffee and waved his hand, "Not really, I think it's cozy." Tenshi hummed and asked, "Should I put some flower pots or something?" Guy muttered, "Flower pots?" he squinted at the Cafe building before pointing at the sign, "Like, hanging down?"

Tenshi nodded and pointed, "Maybe on the sides too?" Guy replied "I think that's overdoing it." as he sipped his coffee. Tenshi's lips twitched and he replied "I'm not putting flowers everywhere. It's just a bit to spruce it up… Get some more women to come in…"

Guy looked at him strangely, "More women? Why?" Tenshi's eyes twitched as he muttered "Because there's only guys and children in my cafe…" turns out the last 100 customer was Naruto, since he took out the trash and Tenshi gave him a drink, it was considered a transaction.

But this didn't solve his all man clientele problem…

Plus, he had a lot of catching up to do!

He took a break for 5 years, it wouldn't happen again!

Tenshi looked at the buildings next to him and said habitually, "Watch the cash for me, Guy." as he walked away, Guy stood there in confusion "Watch the what?" Tenshi walked to the building to the right of his cafe.

He knocked on the door gently and after a few moments, a old lady opened the door, saying "I don't want whatever you're sellin!" Tenshi uncontrollably asked, "Not even chocolate?" The old lady shouted, "CHOCOLATE!?" an older voice shouted from the house, "WHAT ARE THEY SELLIN'!?" The old lady shouted "THEY'RE SELLIN' CHOCOLATE!"

"THEY'RE SELLIN' WHAT?!"

"CHOCOLATE!"

"CHOCOLATE!?"

Tenshi coughed and changed the topic, saying gently, "Ma'am, I actually own the cafe next door." he gestured to the side and smiled softly, "I was wondering, maybe you could come by sometime and we could talk about some business?" the old lady frowned suspiciously, "Business?" Tenshi gave her a gentle smile, replying softly, "Yes. Mainly, I was wondering if I could buy this building from you." The old lady was dumbfounded, "Buy the building?!" Tenshi smiled and nodded, but he was complaining in his heart.

Didn't I just say it? How old are you, lady!?

The old lady frowned, "But this is my home…" Tenshi smiled gently and waved his hands, "Then don't worry, Ma'am. I was just asking." he pulled out a little menu and handed it to her, adding "Please stop by, my prices are much cheaper than Immortal Jutsu Tea Palace. Have a nice day~" before walking away.

The Old lady complained in her heart, I only said one thing, you're supposed to give me a price, right!? Now you're leaving?! She looked at the card and sighed, she didn't even know what coffee was!

Tenshi walked to his other neighbor and poked his head in a garage-type area, seeing a young guy heating up some metal. The young guy looked over and wiped his hands, "Hello?" Tenshi smiled and said "Hello, sir. I was wondering if I could talk to you about buying the building from you? I own the cafe next door."

The Young man shook his head and replied "No. This is the only smithy my grandfather left behind. It survived the Nine Tails attack and all." Tenshi smiled gently and nodded, "Alright then." he walked in and continued asking "Do you only smith by commission?"

The Young man leaned on an anvil, crossing his arms with a cold face, "I produce for several weapon shops in the village, though I take commissions when I have time." Tenshi touched his chin and asked while thinking, "Can you only forge weapons? If I had a smaller civilian project, can you do it?"

The young man snorted, "Nobody'll admit it, but in Konoha there is nobody better than me!" Tenshi was startled but still asked, "What I want you to make is small and something that doesn't exist. Can you still do it?" The young man frowned, "Doesn't exist?"

Tenshi smiled gently, asking "Do you have paper?" the young man handed him a piece of paper and Tenshi drew on it with a pencil.

It looked like a kettle, but there were several parts that came out and opened. Also, it was all metal!

That's right!

It's a cafetiere!

Tenshi showed him the design as he drew the whole thing and then the separate parts, explaining, "This is a Cafetiere. It comes apart in three parts with the funnel sitting in the bottom part. The bottom part has to be thick to hold water, the funnel needs to hold tiny grains without them falling through, and the top half has to hold the end product as it comes through this tower in the middle of it, bubbling out of these holes."

The young man looked at the drawing and turned it around, frowning tightly. This was a complicated product, there were many small parts that he had to make from scratch and they needed to be very delicate!

He honestly didn't know if he could do such a thing. Especially not without blueprints. Though he claimed to be the best… He knew that it wasn't exactly the truth. His grandfather was the best in his heart so if he surpassed him then he would really be the best!

However! He was interested!

He looked at the drawing asking "Where did this come from? What is it for? Is it a one time use item? For ninja?" Tenshi answered slowly and gently, "My head. For coffee. Multi-use. For everyone who buys one." The guy looked at him, "Who buys one? You want multiple?"

Tenshi nodded and smiled, "I want to sell them in my cafe…" he paused and asked instead "Are you doing anything right now?" The young man looked at the forge before saying "I have a few minutes." Tenshi nodded and waved softly, "Come with me." the young man folded the paper and followed Tenshi to the cafe.

Tenshi went behind the counter and started making him a coffee, explaining "These are the grinds that need to be held in the funnel." he scooped with a spoon and put them on a plate, pushing it to him.

The young man pinched the grinded and frowned slightly, not as fine as he thought. Tenshi went on, making him a coffee while explaining "Essentially, the Cafetiere sort of works like this Cezve but separates the grinds from the water. As the water boils, the steam passes through the grinds and gets collected in the top without any grinds in it."

He pushed an Espresso to the man, smiling "Try. This is the end product." The young man picked up the Espresso and sipped it, licking his lips seriously, saying "Bitter. It's good. This is coffee?"

Tenshi nodded and explained, "It comes from a plant." he pointed at the blooming Coffee plant by the window, "That's just an example of the plant, however it will produce beans after a process." he turned back to the sand bed, adding, "This method, while sufficient for now, creates problems because of the slow time. Eventually, I want to make a machine."

The young man drank his Espresso, asking "Machine?" Tenshi let out a breath and explained "The machine will connect to the water, heat it in an instant before producing coffee with a simple push of a button." he snapped his fingers and smiled gently, "Just like that."

The young man's eyes lit up, "That sounds advanced!" Tenshi nodded and explained, "Tell you the truth, I want to see your craft with the Cafetieres because while these are alright for residential use, they aren't suitable for commercial use. If it's up to my standards, I'll commission you to make the small parts I need."

The young man finished the Espresso, looking at the grinds at the bottom and understood the problem. He nodded, "I'll give it a go. I've never done something like this before. I can't give you a quote." Tenshi asked gently, "I was hoping you could try and if it's satisfactory, I'll buy it? Sorry but this is a semi-complicated product that will be sold to customers, if it's really shabby, I will not sell it."

The young man frowned slightly and muttered, "Hmm… I get it… Give me a few days. After making a blueprint and making one, I should be able to improve it…" Tenshi nodded and said "Alright. Perfect, thank you." The young man nodded coldly, "Pleasure doing business with you." he left 350 Ryo on the counter and Tenshi looked at his hand, pinching it with a napkin, smiling "Sorry, I have a condition."

The young man didn't care and nodded before leaving.

Tenshi pinched the cup and plate with the napkin, cleaning them along with the Cezve as Guy asked, "Something new?" Tenshi smiled and nodded gently, "Selling Cafetieres… Basically a device to make coffee at home." Guy was startled, "But what about the caf- Oh. Hahaha! Tenshi, I didn't take you for a ruthless businessman! All this Youth, how fierce!"

Tenshi chuckled and continued cleaning the cafe, wiping the counter.

Sell the Cafetiere… they need to buy the beans, right? Heh heh…
