Chapter 19 - Complaints
Thursday, Spring 4th, Month 1, the Year 2500.
It was the fourth day since the official launch of the new game, Beast Life. Three days might have passed since the launch but 3 months had passed inside the game and many changes had been happening to all the players inside the game.
After three days, players had started having Rank 2 beasts and started venturing to the Rank 2 area. Some decided to stick to the village, town, and city they started because they did not want to play to become strong and just wanted to play with the pet beast.
Among the players with Rank 2 beasts, some of them had already had a full team of three beasts and some had started to have two after entering the Rank 2 area.
Among those staying in the villages, towns, and cities, some had started taking a specific license in the game to start their in-game profession. Some already got their license and started what they signed up for.
All in all, many people had progressed considerably. This was what Glen had read on the forum dedicated to Beast Life. Many players shared their experience in the game to help new players properly choose their path.
Glen was walking toward a park in the neighborhood and would jog there. The park had a nice view and a hotspot for people to have an outdoor jog.
With the current technology, there were a lot of devices to help people living an easier life. One of them was the indoor jogging device.
The so-called 'indoor jogging device' was a treadmill machine but it was modified with a hologram device to change the surrounding scene and some other device to mimic fresh air.
The indoor jogging device received a lot of praise since its launch tens of years ago but still, many people prefer the real fresh air and Glen was one of those people.
There will usually be a massive park nearby a few neighborhoods with the lush green of nature with a long, wide jogging track as well as playgrounds for kids.
At the current time, the city was packed with steel, metal, and glasses. To enjoy the green, people needed to venture outside the town and cities and it was usually a hassle.
Thus, there would be a massive park connecting a few neighborhoods to help the citizens enjoy some nature.
Glen was searching for players who took the path of Upgrade Specialist but all he saw was them quitting because it was too hard.
They had a hard time studying in real life and did not want to experience the same thing in the game. So, many of them quitted.
Some decided to stick with the profession and they were usually people in their late 20s to 50s. Still, they did it as a side profession.
Glen did not see any serious posts about Upgrade Specialists. No one took the profession as the main one because it was too hard.
"I guess I am the only one taking this seriously and that is all because of Data Saver," Glen pouted his lips. If he did not get the skill, he might not even look at the profession.
He also found a few interesting posts which received a lot of backlash in the comment section. It was a post about the storyline mission they got. The player who received the same mission was cursing and reporting the post because they wanted to keep it a secret.
However, the posts were so popular that the other players were finally aware of it and searching to participate in them.
"Hahaha," Glen laughed lightly while reading the comment. He understood the players who got angry. Although he found it weird as to why they got angry.
In the storyline mission, everyone got a different mission and their rewards were different too. There was no need to get that angry.
Then, Glen saw trending posts at the forum and it was the no 1 post there. Not only that but apparently, the same topic was trending on social media too.

These two topics were trending on every social media online.
People were complaining that their beasts were defeated in two to three hits. Many players lost in a single hit! Their beast stood no chance against the wild beasts.
Many people were furious. After all, they kept being teleported back to the village, town, and city they started in because their beast could not hold the fight for long.
Due to the repeated defeat, they were frustrated and the game they thought was fun was not fun anymore. They could not even try any strategy because they did not have the chance. Everything was pure, raw power.
Only those with high attack and defense's beast were able to defeat the wild beast. Those with the speedy beast or lacking in one of these two stats would lose miserably.
Another problem appeared on a different side of players. If there were players who always lose in a fight, there were players who never lose at all because their beast had high attack and defense that the game was not a challenge at all.
In the beginning, they felt the game was hard but after they knew what beasts they could exploit to increase their beast's AP, the game became increasingly easy.
Since defeating a beast of the same rank and tier was a bit hard, the player farmed for the lower rank and tier beast because no matter how strong they were, they received the same amount of AP after defeating the beast.
After their beasts became stronger, they would start attacking beasts of the same rank and tier. They did not try attacking stronger beasts because they knew they would face the same fate as the players who always lose.
Since this trick was found, many players had started having Rank 2 beasts.
They were happy to become strong but this was not the way they wanted and asked the developer to fix the AP rewards.
If the game was too hard, the players would lose interest, and the same with too easy. So, after further research, many top players in Beast Life voice their suggestion which was to increase the HP and put a limit on the AP rewards.
As to whether the developer would hear the suggestion? They would need to wait.
In the past, the three legendary games suffered from the same problem too but the developer fixed it immediately after the complaint.
So, the chance of Beast Life went through the same was high. Since the game was fully computer generated and using the quantum computer, this could be done without much problem.
Glen continued reading the posts and searched social media until he finally arrived at the park. He thought that he was the only person there since it was still early and the sky was still dark but there were already a lot of people running on the jogging track.
Seeing so many people there, Glen was a bit motivated to jog too. It was a healthy activity and he should do this every day.
Glen looked at their clothes and himself. He felt a bit embarrassed. He took note to buy a few sets of sports clothes once he had enough money. At the moment, he needed to make do with what he had.
He wanted to start jogging when a girl was running in front of him. He recognized the girl to be the same girl he met at the inn.
"I guess she lives nearby," Glen mumbled. "Make sense since the player starts at the place they live and everyone in Maru South Village will be people from Maru City's South District."
Since they did not know each other, Glen would not shamelessly go and talk to the girl. Their first meeting was not that pleasant either. He did not want to anger the girl early in the morning. It was better for him to stay away from her.
So, he started his jog.
