Chapter 18 – Log Out Again

Glen read all the information about the water and after he had read enough, he stopped. Bubbly was already full of 'eating' the water and plopped to the floor sleeping. He had been fighting all day and fatigue finally hit at the maximum after his stomach was full.

Glen looked at the window and saw a Bubble beast floating leisurely around. He appraised the beast and true enough, the upgrade methods for them had upgraded with the Rank 1 water data added.

Moreover, most of them were confirmed methods because the data he got was the true data. They were not deductions. Glen was happy with this and he appraised the normal water he had.

Most of the data were similar to the Rank 1 water but it did not have as much data as the Rank 1 water. He also found out that normal water had 0.05 Advancement Point (AP) per 1 liter. This was the reason Bubbly took so long to increase his AP.

After that, he decided to increase the size of his Private Room. He got 10 more 1 cubic meter Private Room and could use them to expand the room.

Although he had the room, it was cramped. A room the size of 2m x 2m x 2m was too small. With the ten more cubic meters he gained and the leftover two cubes from before, he could expand the room.

After some simple customization, Glen made a room with 3m long x 2m width x 3m height. He added a few more windows and he was done. When he clicked done, the room expanded automatically.

Now, the room was more spacious and better to live in.

"I need to buy a bed, chair, and table after this. I need to make this room comfortable so that I can stay in the wild for many days," Glen smiled. He loved the Private Room a lot and felt lucky that he had the Data Saver.

Data Saver had single-handedly changed his difficulty of playing Beast Life from hard to easy. It was not Very Easy because fighting the beast was still hard but if Glen could keep upgrading his beasts, he could breeze through the game with raw power.

Still, his focus was not to become the best Beast Tamer but an Upgrade Specialist. So, his fighting strength did not need to be that high. He would still pursue strength but not for fame. It was for protection.

Upgrade Specialist was not a profession where he stayed in his office or lab all the time. He needed to go to the wild too to do more research and with Data Saver, he definitely needed to explore many places.

After he was done with the Private Room, he lay on the floor and went to sleep. It was an uncomfortable night because sleeping on the bed was better than sleeping on the floor.

"I need to buy a bed!" Glen mumbled determinedly as he slowly fell asleep.

The next morning, Glen got up and traveled back to the village. He did not continue his hunt because it was almost morning in the real world.

He needed to get up early for a morning jog, prepared breakfast for his siblings, and opened the internet café. It would be a busy morning and definitely until night.

In other words, he would leave the game for almost a month again. If there was no one tending to Bubbly, it would be bad.

He would leave Bubbly with Bertha and paid in advance. He got a lot of material to sell and they would be enough to cover the cost. He also had a rabbit pelt which fetched quite a bit more money than the meat.

"Auntie Bertha," Glen called Bertha.

"Have you figured out the upgrade method for my Silfra?" Bertha looked hopeful and excited.

"Err…" Glen scratched his head and spoke apologetically, "I still need a bit more time. I am here to ask your help to take care of Bubbly. I will be gone as long as before and I need someone to take care of him."

"Oh…" Bertha was disappointed but she soon cheered up because she knew that it was not easy to think of a new upgrade method for a beast.

Glen could easily use the Silver Claw Frog's method but Bertha did not want that. She understood the difficulty of it and did not blame Glen for that. Still, she felt disappointed.

"How long will you be gone?" Bertha asked.

"I am not sure yet but maybe almost a month. Around 20 days," Glen made a simple calculation in his mind.

Bazet had different hours compared to Earth. If Earth had 24 hours per day, Bazet had 30 hours per day. Moreover, Bazet had fixed days in a month which were 30 days and each season would last for 3 months.

Since Beast Life had a time difference of 1 day in real-time equal to 1 month game time, it would be 1 hour for 1 day in the game.

Glen would be busy with the café and his life for around 20 hours and thus, he would disappear from the game around 20 days.

Bertha calculated the fee and Glen paid it without any problem. After that, he talked to Bubbly about leaving and he looked super sad. Glen felt bad too but there was nothing he could do.

If Glen could monitor Bubbly even when not playing the game, they would not need to be separated all the time but it looked like the developer did not set this to happen. He wondered if the developer would do something about this?

Glen got inside a room and logged out of the game. When he opened his eyes, he checked the time and it was morning. Although he played games throughout the night, he did not feel tired at all because he was sleeping when playing the game.

Glen got up, took a light shower to freshen, and wore some clothes. He wanted to go jogging immediately but found out that he did not have any sports clothes.

After careful consideration, he wore a clean t-shirt and cotton pants. With one look, the clothes were unsuited for jogging but it was better than nothing.

Moreover, they were clean. So, it was enough for a jog. He wore a blue cap and luckily, he had a sneaker to use as sports shoes. It was better to use sports shoes but he did not have them, so sneakers were fine.

He wore his comm device which was a bracelet and an earpiece. He connected the earpiece to the comm device and turned on some song. Running while listening to a song was commonly done by many people and he did that too so that he did not feel bored.

Once he was done, Glen left his home and started his first-ever early morning jog.
