Chapter 16 – Hunting All Day

Glen picked up the loot dropped by the Horned Rabbit. It was a slice of rabbit meat that he could sell at a diner or butcher in Maru South Village. He appraised the rabbit meat.

Since Bubbly was not a carnivore, he would sell the meat later. It was common meat and thus, it would not fetch that much money. Even so, money is money.

"Can you continue?" Glen asked Bubbly as he saw another Horned Rabbit from afar.

"Bubu…" Bubbly shook his body meaning he could not. He spoke a bit more with a gesture that meant he needed to rest for a bit. Glen nodded and they decided to enter the private room to rest.

Since there was nothing in the room, they sat on the floor to rest. Glen looked at the water he was upgrading but there was nothing that had changed if through his naked eye.

However, he was sure that something was happening because the Bubble beast's core he soaked in the water had shrunk by a lot.

There were about 30 liters of water in the basin and he wondered if one core was enough. He needed to wait and see the result.

Half an hour later, Glen and Bubbly got out and found another Horned Rabbit. Now that the duo knew that the rabbit had high speed, even without Glen's command, Bubbly used Bubble Wall and a thick layer of bubble covered his body.

Bubbly shot the Bubble Gun to attract the Horned Rabbit's attention and he got it as the rabbit was furious and attacked Bubbly without much thought.

From the action of this rabbit, Glen knew it had a different personality than the previous rabbit. The previous rabbit was calm amidst the attack and started panicking when it almost died.

However, the new rabbit had a hot temper and attacked Bubbly rashly in anger. Glen could see that the rabbit grind its teeth in anger too. It opened its mouth which seemed like it was talking but the voice was too low that Glen could not hear any sound.

Be that as it may, Glen knew that the rabbit was cursing angrily because the expression it had was the same as when his friend was angry.

The rabbit used the same horn attack as the previous rabbit which Glen did not know the official name for the skill because he could not appraise the skill.

Even so, with a bit more experience against the rabbit, Bubbly swiftly evaded the attack. However, he failed because once again, the problem was with the speed. The rabbit was too fast for the slow Bubbly.

The rabbit landed on the ground and hopped immediately to continue attacking Bubbly. The rabbit was not surprised that Bubbly was still fine because all it wanted was for Bubbly to die. It would continue attacking until Bubble fell.

"Bubbly, read the rabbit's attack path and spam with Bubble Gun!" Glen commanded.

The rabbit was getting closer and Bubbly calmly stared at the rabbit. He started shooting the bubbles at the enemy once he knew the path.

It was easy to determine it because the attack was too straightforward. The first rabbit was fighting a bit more in strategy while the current rabbit did not care about strategy.

Due to this, the rabbit was immediately hit by the bubbles.

Five bubbles hit the rabbit but they only needed three to defeat it. The rabbit was thrown back a few meters by the attack and shone before it disappeared. At the place it disappeared was a slice of rabbit meat.

Glen picked up the meat and looked at Bubbly. Bubbly nodded rapidly as he wanted to continue fighting. Glen nodded but before that, he added the new stat points Bubbly got from defeating the two rabbits.

Since the rabbit was 2-Star Colorless Stage Rank 1 beast, Bubbly should get 3 advancement points from each of them.

The formula for the calculation was 1[Colorless Stage] x (1 [Rank] +2 [Tier]). After that, based on the talent of the beast, they would get the corresponding points.

Since Bubbly had Grade D talent, he would get 30% of the advancement points. So, Bubbly got 1.8 points but only the 1 point gave him stat points. As for the 0.8, he would need to even it to 1 to get another stat point.

Since Bubbly was a 2-star beast, he got a 0.02 stat point for 1 advancement point. Glen used the 0.02 points on Bubbly's defense which increased it to 3.02. The number was small but it was better than nothing.

Glen and Bubbly continued hunting for Horned Rabbit until night. Once the sun had set, Glen and Bubbly immediately got inside the Private Room.

They had been hunting the Horned Rabbits the whole day. They hunted for a long time but they only managed to defeat 7 Horned Rabbits.

The rabbits were common in Maru Prairie but there were other beasts on the prairie too. Glen's target was the rabbit and thus, when he saw other beasts, he would hide with Bubbly. So, their haul was low due to this.

Glen was the type who preferred to focus on one thing and he was a bit too careful when doing stuff. This was the reason that other than the rabbits, he did not try to fight the other beasts. He did defeat a few colored butterflies and that was it.

Furthermore, with Glen's poor stamina, the duo needed to rest many times. Now, Glen felt that he was the feeblest in the team and the bubble which was supposed to be the weakest was stronger.

As for the rabbits, he did find almost twenty of them but most of them ran away immediately when they felt they could not defeat Bubbly.

With their speed, it was not impossible to do that. Thus, Glen lost most of them. He also knew now how smart were the beasts programmed by the game.

From the seven rabbits, six dropped the rabbit meats and the last one dropped a rabbit pelt. Glen had wanted a horn or core drop but they were really rare since the rabbit had a lot of different drops and his luck was not that good either.

He felt that after he got the Data Saver, the RNG did not want to give him more easy stuff. "What a considerate AI," Glen mumbled.

Since Bubbly defeated 7 Horned Rabbits, he got 6.3 advancement points. He also defeated 15 Colored Butterflies and thus got another 9 advancement points. In total, Bubbly got 15.3 points. Added with the leftover 0.8, he got 16.1.

With the 16 advancement points, Bubbly got 0.32 stat points which Glen put 0.18 on defense which maxed it out, and 0.14 on HP.

After fighting for a whole day without restraint, Glen knew that hunting beasts were a faster method in increasing Bubbly's power.

Moreover, Bubbly had a huge advantage over other players' beast because Glen could upgrade his skills which made him more powerful than others.

"Upgrading his food is not the only method to rank up Bubbly. Hunting is a good method too. I should try hunting other beasts tomorrow," Glen started planning. He realized that he was too careful with this.

While he was thinking of this, he got a notification that the water had successfully upgraded.
