Ep.22

Later on in the day Sam was attending to his personal training with his <Thunder Striker> when he heard footsteps outside and turned to see both Jim and Cindy walk towards him and ask

"Master we have a request to ask you"

Sam started taking off his armour and said as he opened a soda bottle as he was felling thirsty

"On with it then. What do you want to ask?"

Jim then said as he showed his wings and tail to Sam

"We would like to join our teams together and explore the Ash Forest for some time"

Sam looked surprised before Cindy continued by saying as she too showed her wings and tails

"We feel that with you with us we may become to dependent upon your power so that is why we request to hunt in the Ash forest without you master"

Sam looked at them both before he started to think of the request and had clearly seen their point on that they might become to dependent on his power but at the same time he was hesitant as he feared they would run into a strong enemy that they couldn't fight but ultimately made up his mind and took a deep breath before he said as he looked at Jim and Cindy

"If I allow this Expedition to happen then both of you will be responsible for everyone's safe return but as I still fear for the unknown I will have Sato join you"

Jim and Cindy shook a little and looked at each other before they stood strong and said

"We will see everyone's safe return master"

Sam waved them off to leave before he turned around and looked at Sato, Kinna and Dina sleeping in one big pile before Sam walked over and whistled for them to wake up and had them all follow Sam to the great hall where he was surprised to see that everyone was already suited up in their armour and said as Samantha handed both Harry and phill duffel bags filled with essentials for the expedition

"Seems you had hoped I would say yes… very funny. I have allowed this expedition to happen for you all so I will want you all back before Sunset"

Everyone then saluted Sam and said in unison

Before they all left with Sato following behind them

"Yes Sir!"

Once all of them left Sam looked at Samantha and said as he grew out his wings

"Want to fly a little?"

Samantha's eyes widened before she started jumping around screaming with so much joy and excitement

"Yes yes yes! I wanna fly!"

Sam smiled and picked Samantha up before they flew circles around the dragon temple while doing al sorts of tricks for a while before Sam slowed down and landed on the base steps of the temple and set Samantha down before she laid flat on the ground saying as her world was spinning all around her

"That was awesome… but I think I might barf"

Sam chuckled a little and said as he sat down next to her

"I'm sure you get used to it but once you take your trial in the tower then you can officially be a part of the clan"

Kinna and Dina then ran out of the temple and jumped onto Samantha's lap before she said with a bright smile

"I'll make sure to become the greatest warrior you've ever seen!"

Sam patted her head and knew in his heart that he would never be alone again

Meanwhile Jim and Cindy's expedition was progressing smoothly as they had just encountered two drakes that were easily taken care of by sato with one Breath attack that burned them to ash before Cindy looked at sato and said as sato kept looking in different directions

"I feel as if we won't get any fighting done with sato"

Everyone nodded in agreement before the bushes next to them started rustling causing everyone to be on guard with their weapons pointed at the bush before they saw a tiny little baby Drake with similar coloured scales as the two drakes they had just killed walk up to them before he started make some baby sized roars while it looked around before another one came through

William looked at the baby drakes before he realized that they had just killed their parents

Everyone soon caught on to what William had suspected before Harry placed his weapon on the ground and laid a hand out to one of the baby drakes and said as the drakes were backing up slowly

"Hey little guy, want to come with me? We'll take care of you…huh?"

Harry thought he dreaming as he was suddenly floating off the ground before he realized Sato picked him up with his tail before he looked down a saw a small pit where he was sitting and only then saw the Drake he had reached out to fire a small ball of acid that had landed next to a tree

Cindy then took a look at the baby drakes and were surprised as one of them was an <Lv.1 baby Acid Drake>

Jim and Cindy looked at each other before they came up with an idea and took out some beef jerky that Sam had made before they tossed it to the drakes were they seemed entranced by the smell before they both bolted for the jerky and ate them whole before they started hopping up and down for more food when a message appeared for both Jim and Cindy

[You have settled the wild Drake and the foundation for a Familiar Contract can be set]

Jim immediately threw another piece of jerky and had a Contract form with one of the drakes while Cindy was hesitant as she already had Snowflake before she looked at Taylor who seemed upset before she handed her the beef jerky and said as she pushed her forward

"Go on and have it"

Taylor was shocked before she felt the Drake press up against her leg before she fed the Drake and had the contract form before she picked it up and said with a heartwarming smile

"I'm going to call you Shiro"

However just then a thunderous roar was heard before they got in a defensive position as they saw a Drake nearly three times the size of sato emerge out of the dense forest before they saw a large health bar over its head as a message appeared for them all saying while the Drake only paid attention to Sato

[<Lv.10 King Drake> has awoken from its deep slumber and is hungry]

Cindy started to shake a little before Jim screamed as he grew his claws and wings out

"Everyone focus! First we restrict its movements then we attack!"

Harry and pill both ran to opposite sides of the king Drake and used their hammers to try and hurt the drakes legs but were quickly pushed back as the king Drake used its tail to send both of the twins into some trees before it turned its attention back to Sato who shot a fire breath but the king Drake was to fast for it to hit before Mary came down from above and slashed at its neck in hopes to sever the head but only managed to lightly graze it and was about to shoot a fire ball at Mary but was stopped by sato who dug his fangs deeply in the drakes neck while Harry and phill join the fight once again and went for the front legs this time while everyone else worked on attacking the Drake then gaining some distance and in no time at all the king drakes health bar plummeted to the half way mark before it finally was freed from sato's Jaws before it let out another thunderous roar

Everyone the circled back to group up before the Drake dug into the ground and disappeared before sato flung the newer people into the air while those who had wings took to the skies as they felt to ground rumble but Harry and phill were to late as they were swallowed whole causing everyone to burst into tears at the death of their friends before that saw the King Drake resurface with its tail going in all sorts of directions as if he was enjoying his meal which mad everyone scream in anger before they heard Harry say

"This is so nasty! Let's get this saliva off before we smell like this for months on end."

The others however thought that we're hearing a ghost before they all leveled up as two messages appeared

However for Harry and phill they gained something far more special than levels as they gained a new familiar and quickly looked at its status

Harry and phill were so happy before Cindy came and asked as she kept her distance from the king Drake

"How did you both manage to tame it?"

Hurry and phill shrugged before phill said as he wiped off some of the saliva on his face

"I don't know but man am I hungry…. Eh?"

Just when Phil reach for his duffel bag he saw the bag was gone before he noticed the other one was gone too before they looked up and saw the King Drake lick its lips before they all realized that the king Drake ate their food rations that were in the duffel bags before Sato smacked the king drakes head with his tail causing the King Drake to spit out the emptied duffel bags before everyone looked at each of before Harry looked at Phil and said as the Drake started play fighting with sato

"So we both are its masters so let's think of the name for it?"

Phill smiled before he and Gary huddled up and thought of a name before they turned to everyone and said with pride

"We are naming him the 'Tremor'!"

Everyone signed in disappointment but could not change their mind as they had no control but after everyone checked their new statuses Ruth and Mary both saw a chest made of stone before they walked over and opened it and felt a chilling sensation as they tried to look inside before the chest closed and saw Sato's tail wrapped around the chest as it growled causing everyone to look and see the chest before they too tried to look inside only for sato to roar and stand over the chest as if he was guarding it from them which confused them before Sam landed on the ground a few feet away from them and looked around before he laid eyes on the king Drake and said as he smiled

"Seems you expedition gave some fruitful rewards, what's his name?"

Harry and fill them walked up and load their hands on Tremor and said while Sam was staring at its eyes that were looking down on Sam

"We've named him Tremor. He has a skill that can create a tunnel to escape from enemies"

Sam then looked at the others and then at sato before he rested his hand on sato and said in a soft voice

"Sato you have to learn how to share"

Sam then opened the chest and pulled sato away lightly before Mary and the others looked in the chest and found a bright blue orb called a Wondrous Orb that could have a rare item inside and a pair of boots that looked to have plates made of stone instead of metal plates called Ground shaker boots where after a certain amount of steps it could cause an earthquake over a small area

Everyone then looked at Sam before he said as he sat down on the ground

"What? Those are your rewards from your hard work so you guys should decide what to do with them"

Ruth picked up the Wondrous Orb and looked at everyone before she said as everyone stared at her except Harry and phill who were playing with tremor

"Let's see what's inside of this then we can figure out loot distribution okay?"

Everyone nodded before Ruth opened the orb and had it float in the air a little before a small knife floated back into Ruth's hand before they all checked its information and saw it was called a Wet Blade and that it had a low percentage chance to give a weapon or armour piece a water affinity skill however at the cost of its durability

Everyone was about to start the loot distribution before Sam poked his head in between Mary and Taylor and said as he looked up to see it was sunset

"Time to return home guys. Good luck!"

Harry and phill walked over and looked around before they said while they looked around in circles

"Where did master stone go? He was right here?"

Everyone looked around for Sam before Harry saw a sticky note on Mary's back and read it out loud as everyone looked at it as it said

'Last one to the temple will clean it and no flying. Good luck!👍'

Harry laughed and said jokingly while everyone looked at each other

"Surely the master is joking hahaha ….!!"

In just moments after Harry spoke everyone started running like their life depended on it while Harry and phill struggled to get Tremor to move

As he seemed to be napping on his back

Sam was relaxing in the great hall with Samantha as they saw Mary and the others reach the steps to the dragon temple before they all went to the beds while Sam felt the ground shaking before he saw Harry and phill running away from Tremor with some raw meat attached to their belts and went over and said as the two brothers walked past him into the baths

"You guys were last so you'll both be cleaning together tonight and make sure to do it well"

Just as the Drake was about to walk past Sam and explore the dragon temple Sam grew his wings and flew in front of Tremors face before Tremor started growling while he showed off his fangs before Sam changed to his Wyvern form and pinned Tremor underneath his foot with ease and said as he felt Tremor struggling to get out of his grasp

"This is my kingdom and you are nothing"

Sam gave tremor a look so menacing and scary that it installed fear into Tremor so that he would not choose to resist Sam's might before he turned and followed Sato into the Dragon Dens before he to join the men in the baths and said as he was getting into the baths

"So now that you guys have already gained a lot of experience I've decided to move up the combatant competition to tomorrow"

Everyone stared at Sam before they groaned as they could already feel the pain they will get during the competition tomorrow

Sam then enjoyed the bath for the next hour before he got out and went to go eat supper that was made ahead of time when Sam returned to the dragon temple with sato with his teleport skill

Once everyone started eating the girls noticed that all of the boys refused to touch their food before Sam said as he opened one of his private bottles of wine and poured a glass for him and the team leaders

"You guys should eat you food as I said earlier that the combatant competition will be held tomorrow instead of 3 days from now"

Cindy and the other girls besides Samantha nearly choked on their food before they all gave a glance at Sam as they didn't believe what they just heard before Sam looked at them and said as he started eating his food

"Oh that's right I haven't told you guys yet since I told them that I'll be having the combatant competition held tomorrow. My bad but since you all are above level 20 due to your expedition you all should be able to hold on for a little bit"

This may have sounded like pure arrogance to the new generation of followers but for the first group of followers they took it to heart as they knew in thief minds that if you were to underestimate Sam then you would be lucky to live from one of his attacks

Mary quickly finished her food like she had lived in a cave for years before she got up and said as she ran down the stairs

"Thanks for the meal but I'm going to do some late night training! Good night!"

Sam smiled and saw everyone else do the same before they too followed Mary where Sam could already hear an explosion in the distance before Sam helped clean up the table with Samantha and Mindy who was helping collect the rest of the dishes and as they were all cleaning Samantha tugged of Sam's sleeve and asked as she was washing her knives with the utmost amount of care

"Master can I ask you something?"

Sam leaned on the counter and nodded as Samantha laid down one of her knives and asked before she cleaned the next one

"Do you often visit your family when you go back home? And what are they like?"

Sam felt his heart tremble before he turned away from Samantha and said before he left the cafeteria

"It's getting late so you should go to bed soon, good night"

In less then a second Samantha could feel the sadness in the air as her own mood saddened before she cleaned up and went to bed while Sam had just entered his private room and could once again her his mother and fathers voice one after another

"You are my son and I love you"

"There's my little warrior. Let's all go out and play at the park"

"Sam! Take your mother and run Ahh!"

"Hide here for mommy okay and don't make a sound… I love you… Hey! Here I am! Follow me!"

Sam became plagued by the final moments he had with his mother and father before he could hear some whining before he felt something bang against the door and opened it to see Kinna and Dina before they ran into Sam's room and jumped on him before they started licking Sam's face before he laughed a little and said as he wiped the tears under his eyes before he went to sleep

"Okay okay okay you guys can stop with the kisses hahahahaaa…. I bet they would be happy to meet everyone… I miss them so much"
