Chapter 7

"What the hell was that?!" Noel asked himself out loud as he watched form of Jade flying away in the sky vanish from his sight.

Noel had to struggle to remain standing cause his entire body wanted to give out where he stood and fall to the ground on his knees. Whether or not he should admire the sight or fear it he could not determine what he should be feeling towards it. It was the first time he had ever seen such a thing before in his life. He had grown up raised in the human's world so he had never seen a creature that was not human before. It was not that he did not know they existed because it was known to all of humanity that other things were out there they were just not as easily seen.

"So you saw it, but aren't you over reacting a bit?" A mysterious man scoffed slightly at the way that Noel was acting towards seeing Noel's form.

"Huh?" Noel was a bit confused at why the man was talking to him.

Looking at the man who was standing there watching Noel it felt like he was debating over something. There was a flicker of something dangerous in his eyes that could just barely be felt by Noel as he glanced at the man. It almost made his blood run cold to see the man giving him such a look with his blue eyes. His hair was short, with a hint of a tan color, and well kept making Noel assume he was from a decent family while his outfit was a pair of pants with a white shirt that made him look casual yet gave an air of wealth off around him.

Maybe the man could sense that Noel was feeling uncomfortable because he left out a sigh as he let up on his glaring. It took a moment but he started to relax a bit after the man eased up on the stare. He was not sure who the man was or why he was talking to him but something felt off about the situation to Noel. He could not tell if the man was a friend or not but he could tell the man was not a simple person.

"No need to be on guard, kid. I have not the least bit of interest in you." He creased his brows slightly and turned to head towards the building entrance.

"Wait, you live here?" Noel thought for a moment that maybe the man was one of his neighbors from the way he was acting. It would easily make sense if a neighbor was to speak to him in the situation.

"Not in the slightest!" The man waved his hand in the air at Noel slightly without even glancing back in his direction as he headed inside.

Noel turned to head back to his apartment as well. From the ground floor all the way up to his own floor he ended up following right behind the man. It felt strange to be heading to the same floor as the person who just claimed they had no apartment in the building but it seemed the man knew exactly where he was going.

Who the hell is this guy? Noel thought to himself as they both walked down the hallway from the elevator. The man paused in front of a door and pushed in the code on the apartment door. With a slight beep the door opened up for him allowing the man to walk right inside of the apartment he had approached. At that sight about a million questions were raised in Noel's mind but he kept them to himself as he watched the man quickly close the door behind him.

After a slight moment of hesitation to enter his own apartment due to the thoughts running through his mind he went inside. There was not a second thought to him making sure his own door was secure knowing there was such a strange person outside in another room so close to his own. It was unclear who the man was but he was certain the man claimed to not live in the building at all; yet he entered a room without hesitation towards knowing the doors code.

"Is he visiting someone?" Noel thought out loud while walking over to his fridge to poor himself a cold glass of orange juice. He was the type that he was very fond of orange juice. It always seemed to calm him when his nerves were on edge when he relaxed with a cold drink.

With all the strange things going on around him in his life lately he felt like things were becoming hard to find time to relax. It was like searching for a moment of sunshine while standing inside of a hurricane. Things seemed impossible for him lately to find time to himself where he was not stressing out over something.

"Hah." He let out a deep breath as he flopped down in his living room on a large beanbag chair that he kept near his television. His orange juice was sealed in a decorative cup with a straw so that he would not spill his drink on his furniture. If someone compared how he looked when at home, relaxing on his beanbag chair with his drink, to the way he looked at work they could easily presume he simply had a twin brother because while he was at home he was simply way more casual than the casual front he had to put on while working.

After a while of silence he could hear the sound of the other apartment opening its door while the man was leaving. He was not sure what the man did while he was in the apartment but it was obvious that the man was leaving now. It did not feel like the man had stayed that long if he was visiting someone but it was obvious that he was in a rush to leave as if something had happened. A slight perk of interest came to Noel but he pushed that feeling down because it felt like he was would be safer if he did not get involved with that man.
