Chapter 30
As the sound of Noel and Capricorn filled his ears he started to shift in his sleep. He could hear them both talking about him but he was not ready to wake up. Slitting his eyes open just slightly enough to look at them both without them becoming aware he was already awake he could see them both. The hand that Capricorn placed on Noel's shoulder gave him the sudden desire to remove that hand from Capricorn's arm.
What's wrong with me? He thought to himself as he tried to understand why he would consider such a thing simply for Capricorn touching Noel's shoulder. Lately he felt as though he could not understand himself at all. Whenever he was near the man it was like he always made him feel so calm that all his walls would come tumbling down that he placed around his own emotions.
When he heard Capricorn mention to Noel that he cared about him even if he had not realized it yet felt as though they struck a cord in his own chest. If he had to think about it he could see how he may care for the man but had he truly grown that attached to him? He was not certain he could agree to such a thing being true. Knowing himself he felt he would certainly throw away everything to keep the man safe. He had even gone as far as submitting to Logan to allow him to falsely portray to Noel that he belonged to Logan already. They both knew it was not true but he had done it simply so that Logan would not have Noel killed for getting too close.
Every day that he had kept himself from Noel because of Logan had felt as though he was already dead without him by his side. He was already so use to Noel being in his life that it felt abnormal to be without him near. In that moment Jade began to realize that Noel might be closer to his heart then he had realized before. It was a thought that he tried to let go of and think of something else. After ridding himself of those thoughts he began to realize that Capricorn was alone with Noel in the living area. A sudden rise of emotion in his chest began to make him uncomfortable at that realization.
His body jolting awake he sat up and glanced over at the two of them who were talking about him. When they realized he had awoken they glanced over at his direction. From a single glance he knew that Noel had been watching him the entire time they were talking about him. Everything about Noel was easy for him to read like the back of his own hand. The way the man was blushing at being caught staring gave his chest a strange warm feeling that made him want to rush over to him but he kept himself calm and remained sitting there on the bed.
"You two talk too much." Jade scolded them with a cold glare in Capricorn's direction. It was so chilling that the man quickly retreated his hand with a smile.
"See? I told you he cares about you." Capricorn laughed loudly and did not try in the least to hide his comment from Jade.
A faint blush appeared on Jade's face at the remark he had made loud enough for them all to hear clearly. Not even aware of his own body's blush he turned his gaze into a direction away from the both of them because he felt uncomfortable with that remark. He was not sure how to take the remark but he knew that he did care about Noel so he could not think of a way to come back from him announcing it so loudly. It was not that he was certain he loved the man because he was not sure what he felt. He did not want to become aware of his own feelings so he could only think of ways to keep himself from admitting his feelings to even himself.
"What are you doing here, Capricorn?" Jade asked in attempt to get straight to the point and out of the awkward situation he was in.
"Right. It's like this.." Capricorn went on to explain how Silvester had been working for Logan all along. He even explained to Jade in front of Noel about how Logan had personally hired Silvester to purposely wound Jade from the start in order to take further advantage of him and play the hero who pulled him up from his fall.
Jade never did make a reaction to the topic because from the beginning he knew Logan well enough to already assume it all from the start. It was not news to his ears. The only thing that made him curious was the fact that the identity of his new body was someone of high enough status to have someone sent under Logan in order to protect his life from the man. For the first time since his arrival to this world he felt curious as to who's body he was using but there was no way he could come out and admit that he was not the original body's owner. That was when the sudden question came out from someone else and silenced his thought process.
"Who is Jade exactly for all this?" Noel thought his question out loud without meaning to causing the room to go silent. Jade and Capricorn both were looking at him in silence before glancing at each other. Capricorn's gaze was obvious that he was asking with his eyes if he was allowed to respond to the question causing Jade to nod slightly in agreement. It was strange for Noel to see him agreeing so easily to topics about himself in front of him.
"Jade is.. The second Prince of the Void." Capricorn stated out in a hushed tone to ensure that only the three of them could hear the words.
Jade's expression became unreadable to them but Noel's face paled in shock. He could understand why the man would be shocked because even he knew very little about the Void but he knew enough to know his identity was not a simple one. Being a Prince of the Void meant he was considered a faerie or in some cases they were even portrayed as angels. They were capable of things most mortal and demi alike were not capable of. Their living forms were simply of whatever form they chose to take shape as. They could literally take nothing and turn it into empires, rivers, mountains. Faeries of the Void were considered guardians because they safe guarded the passageway between worlds. He wasn't just any ordinary ranked Faerie of the Void.. He was the second Prince of the Void!
