12 Crumbled to the ground

For the confused readers who are wondering how is Patel can communicate with the people around her when she is doesn't hear or talk, well she is using the ASL language, it's a language that people who can't talk use it, also she can read and write, so if she isn't able to say what she wants she can write it.

"You need to go with Jacob, Now." Her mother said as she cupped her face.

Patel stared at her mother confused. She had tears in her eyes but she was trying not to cry.

"What is happening? There are men out there." Patel signalled, Pointing at the window.

"I will explain to you later, Now you need to go." Her mother replied, kissing her forehead before she turned to look at Jacob.

"Please make sure that she gets there alive." Olivia said feeling the pain of parting with her daughter already filling her heart.

Jacob nodded his head Before he asked Patel to follow him.

Patel stared at her mother refusing to go and leave her.

"I don't want to leave you, I want to stay with you." Patel signalled tears sliding from her eyes as she held into her mother's hands, Her lips trembling and her vision started to get blurry.

Olivia held herself back with all the poor that she can gather to not burst into tears, It was hard, harder than she thought it would be, But she needs to stay for her only daughter's sake.

"Patel, You need to go, I promise to come and take you." Olivia said as she let go of her hands wanting her to leave already.

Patel nodded her head and left with Jacob, Het mother's promise is the only thing that she can hold on to in this life, Without it, She has nothing to hold on to.

Patel followed Jacob who led them to a passageway underneath the mansion. It was the first time she had seen this passageway. It was long and dark. She kept holding his hand tightly as they walked.

Jacob stopped when he heard the sound of an explosion, And Patel felt it too and could hear a faint sound but she didn't know what was happening. At times like these, She hated not being able to hear.

The explosion caused the underground structure to crack. Jacob looked up and noticed that the passageway would crumble down on them if another explosion happened. They need to get out of here quickly.

Once they were out, Jacob and Patel didn't stop walking until they were in the middle of the forest. Patel, who was tired from walking for a long time, Nearly collapsed but Jacob caught her tired body in time.

"Shh, Don't cry." He said as he patted her back trying to comfort her even knowing that she won't be able to hear him.

Patel cried silently in his arms, She was scared, lost, She left her mother there and not knowing if she will see her again.

Jacob's eyes widened when he heard a thunderous explosion. From where he stood, He could see the mansion as it crumbled to the ground. When Patel tried to look and follow his gaze he hugged her tightly, Preventing her from looking.

Surely no one survived there, Even her mother, Olivia, The mother that he never had.
