Snow Ball

Over the next few months she taught them not only how to fight but also how to use there mana to an extent. Yuri was especially gifted in mana, he quickly learned how to control his mana and by the 3rd month he already knew how to perform magic. Kain wasn't so talented, he could barely emit any mana from his body much less control it. By the 2nd month of his training he knew that he had no talent for it so he decided to focus on his fighting abilities.

In the fourth month the boys were taught all that was necessary in the short time that they had had, now it was time to teach them survival skills. The boys were doubtful at first, because they both knew how to properly survive in the forest. They were told of the different environments that were beyond the horizon, they're mother taught them of the endless desserts and frozen tundras. They Learned the bare minimum of how to adapt in the environment that surrounded them.

In the Fifth month they were to be trained to fight together. In the past few months they both trained separately. Yuri focused more on his mana training because of his affinity while Kain focused more on his fighting abilities and survival skills because of his inept affinity with mana. Thus they rarely ever trained together but they needed to know how to fight together, so they're mother fought them both for the rest of the month.

At first they're fighting strategy was subpar at best. They would easily be taken down withing 2 minutes, they had to learn how to balance each other's fighting styles. At the end of the fifth month they're mother gathered them near the lake and told them to prepare themselves.

Kain stood in front of Yuri but not close enough to him to block his field of view and prepared himself for close quarter combat, Yuri stood back stretched out his hand and aimed it towards his mother. 

"Are you two ready?"

She asked.

They both stayed silent, they were too focused on wining they're mock battle. She smiled and quickly charged at Kain, she was fast. She rolled her right fist and thrusted it towards Kain's head but he dodged slightly to the left and his right fist towards her head. She blocked his attack with her left hand, Kain then pulls back his fist and grabs her right hand with his both his hands. He then pivots and performs a shoulder through.

Blue shards of ice gather around Yuri's arm, a cold mist gathers around his body he sees an opening and sends the ice flying towards his mother's body. At that moment Kain braces for impact expecting the attack to land but instead he hears a loud thud towards the ground. She punched the ground with enough force to shatter the ground, a huge stone stone pillar blocks the shards of ice and counters there attack.

"Damn it."

Yuri and Kain thought.

With the ground suddenly shattering Kain loses his balance, he tries to regain it but he's interrupted with a kick to his jaw sending him flying. She then lands on her feet and dashes towards Yuri's direction. Yuri then summons more ice shards and shoots them in her direction. As he did that she quickly evaded by jumping upward towards his direction. Yuri couldn't attack her again because she was too close to him so he put his guard up and tried to block her next attack.

In mid air she then curled up her body and lunges a downward kick towards Yuri. The kick lands and sends a devastating shockwave through the area, Yuri could not stand the power of kick so he knelt down. His hands were shaking, he couldn't stand and his vision was blurred due to the dust. As She was about to make her next attack Kain appeared behind her and grabbed her stomach, Kain leaned back and slammed her back into the ground.

Kain quickly regained his balance and grabbed his brother and ran away from his mother. He ran towards the forest while carrying his brother. To his surprise his mother was already on her feet and chasing the both of them. Yuri while being carried by his brother tried to shoot her with ice shards but she dodges them by moving side to side.

"Throw Me!"

Yuri yells,

Kain stops and Yuri curls up into a ball and is thrown towards his mother. She's surprised by this tactic. She stops her pursuit and prepares to punch the ball with a straight hook. In mid air ice covered Yuri's body, he quickly turned into an snow ball with spikes.

She was not startled by the sudden transformation, she was confident she could break the ball and lunged her fist towards it. Just as her fist and the ball made contact the orb burst and sent countless sharp ice shards in every direction.
