28 Skeleton Power
"Now!" Even though he almost ran out of mana, Char still runs at the orc with his sword raised.
While the orc was flailing in pain, he slid on the ground and reached behind the orc's legs. He cut at it behind the knee with his sword.
Mana was covering the blade as he had activated the physical boost with the mana he had remaining. It cut through the orc's resilient tendons.
It screamed as it fell toward its back, Char felt like there was a solar eclipse as the orc about to fall on him and blocked the sun with its enormous body.
He quickly rolled out of the way before the boulder-like body fell on top of him and made meat paste out of his body.
With a quick move he tried to behead the orc with a single strike, he used his vertical strike to behead the creature.
The sword stopped on its neck, it only cut half an inch before stopping, his mana ran out already.
"Damn, if only I still have some mana then I can finish this thing," he cursed.
The orc growled and swung its club at him, Char tried to dodge, but he was held back by his sword, it got stuck in the orc's neck.
He hurriedly let go of his sword and rolled out of the way before the club turned him into a flattened Char.
On the other side of the arena, the skeleton was still fighting with the kobold, the canine already activating its magic, and its movement became faster than the skeleton.
Blue mana covered its body, and it dodged the skeleton's sword with ease before it struck at the skeleton's sword arm.
The summoner had told it to focus on the limb so as not fall to the same trick it had used against the previous opponent. A skeleton doesn't die even if its head got destroyed, so it's better to disable it first.
The claw connected with the bone, but rather than breaking it into pieces, it only pushed the bone slightly.
The skeleton's jaw clattered as it moved, as it laughed at the kobold. It had activated another tattoo hidden inside the bracers.
Char had given it three types of magic circles in the form of tattoos, two different speeds type magic circles so they could be overlapped, and the physical resistance magic circle.
With all three of the magic tattoos activated along with the physical boost magic, it becomes a juggernaut in physical battle.
Of course, it becomes a mana sinkhole with all the magic it activated, but with its mana absorption ability, it could keep it up infinitely.
Mana covered its sword as it swung its blade diagonally at the confused Kobold. The canine quickly recovered and took a few steps back, but the sword still drew blood.
A huge gash opened from its left shoulder to its right stomach, gnashed its teeth in pain but it did not stop fighting.
It starts to stalk around the skeleton with its superior speed to find an opening, even though its last strike failed to damage the skeleton it did not give up.
"Keep attacking, it is using so much mana, it's only about time before it runs out of mana!" The summoner yelled from outside of the arena.
With the kobold's increased wariness, the skeleton could not hit the kobold at all. Their fight continued for a long time.
But to the summoner and the audience's surprise, rather than the skeleton run out of mana first, it was the kobold that ran out of stamina first.
It was gasping for breath as it had exerted its body by going at full speed for a long time. On the other hand, the skeleton did not show any fatigue as undead don't feel tired nor pain.
"What is that? How can a skeleton become so powerful? This doesn't make sense!" the audience could not believe what they saw.
"It has so much magic! Don't you see all the mana covering it? it layered all the magic together!" one man exclaimed.
"How can it sustain all that magic? How much mana does it have to allow it to use all that magic for so long?" another man mused.
"It can sustain it forever, it is absorbing mana as we speak." A girl suddenly said that attracted the audience's attention.
They found the girl familiar, "Isn't that Layla? It's Layla the 6th place in the rank! She is only in her second year but she is already in the top 10!"
"Ah, the Kirin summoner? The one that is famous for her magic sense?" some students who never see the girl recognize her once they hear her name, she was even more famous than the 4th and 5th rank.
"To be exact, the mana is gathering at the black tattoo on its limbs, it thinks it's some kind of magic item that allows it to use magic and it doesn't even need to spend mana on it," she continued in fascination.
"What is that? Such a magic item is cheating!" one man said.
"Didn't they ban the use of magic items? This tournament should be a tournament of skill, not a tournament of riches!"
"They don't. They did not think there would be someone who has a magic item joining the fight since the reward only 5 mana crystals!" a man said.
The skeleton moved at the exhausted kobold with faster speed than before. It had activated the quadruple physical boost, just like Char did, that increased its speed by a notch.
The kobold was startled and could not dodge the strike, its head left its place as the skeleton beheaded it.
On the other side of the arena, Char finally finished the Orc with the help of the imp. They aimed their attack at the orc's injury that it got from the explosive middle finger.
"Sorry, I did not help much, my opponent was tough. He took all my kicks but would not give up, I think he enjoyed it," she grimaced as if she had the worst fight of her life.
