27 Magic Superiority

"Skelly use that!" Char commanded as the skeleton got into range for a melee fight.

Mana gathered toward the skeleton as it activated its magic, but rather than gathering to saturate its body, the mana gathered toward the tattoos on its arms and legs.

The kobold was about to pounce at the sluggish skeleton when it suddenly side-stepped its sharp claw; the skeleton became faster than it normally was.

It swung its sword at the kobold's open side, but it jumped back just in time to dodge the strike. The skeleton's increased speed was not enough to overpower the kobold.

"Normally, mana consumption would be a problem. With so much magic activated at the same time, it becomes multiple times more taxing in the long run, but mana will not be a problem with the mana absorption magic," Char thought.

"If others become suspicious, then I can just tell them that the mana came from the tattoo instead of the skeleton's innate magic circle," he grinned.

Char had purposely hidden some part of the skeleton's tattoo so others can't decipher what magic circle he gave the skeleton. That way he could add or hide what the tattoo actually did.

"I'm hardly the only person who knows about runes, I bet the seniors and teachers would be able to know how I make the tattoo magic circles if they see its full form."

Char did not want to give away his secret so soon. Although others might start their own research and try to replicate his tattoos, they will need to waste a lot of magic stones to do so. Unlike Char, who could use the skeleton's magic, they did not have such luxury.

That would stop others from making his advantage obsolete in a foreseeable future. At that point, he would be able to improve the tattoo once more.

The kobold pounced once more at the skeleton, but it blocked its claw with its sword. Both of them exchanged a few more blows, but none of them injured the other.

"What are you looking at? Your opponent is me!" the kobold's summoner ran at Char with his sword raised.

Char took a step back before he came at the boy with his own sword. Both of them exchanged a few more blows. While none of them actually hurt the other, Char was in a bad situation. His movement got restricted heavily.

"Our battle experiences are too far apart, he could predict my movement and his skill with swords is actually better than me," he lamented as he took another step back.

"I need to do something before he makes his move," he thought when the boy was suddenly covered in blue mana.

The Kobold summoner had used his magic ability, his movement suddenly became faster as he used haste magic.

He was about to strike at Char when he pulled something out of his pocket. It was a small piece of bone with a black tattoo on top of it.

"Even though the magic tattoo is not safe enough for me to use it on myself, it will not stop me from using it," he grinned as he channeled his mana into the bone.

The mana covered his body, and he became faster just like the kobold summoner, the bone he carried with him carried a quickening magic tattoo on it.

With his speed increased as well, Char blocked the sword with his own before he took a quick step back and threw the bone at his opponent. It was a middle finger bone.

The boy tried to dodge, but the explosion still hit him on the shoulder and sent him rolling on the ground.

"What was that? Was that a magic item?!" the audience started to speculate about the item Char used to activate the magic and exploded on the boy's face.

"Magic item can indeed be used for casting magic, but there is no way a commoner like him can have one! Moreover, he used it as an explosive! That's too wasteful! One of them exclaimed.

The audience could not see the item clearly, so they did not know that it was a bone that Char plucked from the skeleton before the fight.

"Too bad that the tattoo still needs to be improved. Before it gets used, the tattoo can indeed appear when the skeleton gets re-summoned or the bone gets destroyed, but after one activation, it will disappear when the skeleton gets re-summoned," he thought as he pulled two other bones out of his pocket.

"I have two more bones, I need to finish this fight before then," he thought as he activated both of them.

Unlike the skeleton, Char could not use the mana absorption magic as he pleases. One wrong move and he might explode!

That made him unable to use the bones he carried with him as he pleased, "I told Skelly to use the exploding middle finger on the bone that I activated after three seconds. That way I can use the exploding middle finger as well. But it seems that I need a better way to achieve better synergy," he thought.

Char activated both bones that work as magic items and mana started to cover him. He dashed and appeared beside the injured boy in a blink of an eye.

Both of the bones contain two different quickening magic and he also activated his quadruple physical boost, which increased his speed to an incredible degree.

He smashed his sword's handle at the boy's face; it knocked the poor boy silly, but Char was not idle. He knew he was carrying a hot potato, the bones he held about to explode.

Char turned to the side and found the orc still standing strong while being kicked in the crotch by the Imp.

"Can that thing even feel pain?" He mused as he threw the bones in his hand at the Orc and Imp.

"Fire in the hole!!!" he shouted. Everyone who was fighting in the arena turned at him before they saw the flying middle finger.

The Imp quickly rolled away while the orc wasn't fast enough to evade the explosion, "Oink!" it finally screamed in pain.
