56 Leaving

"I think it's better that we stay hidden if that is the case. There should be more knight grade orc out there if this is really a monster wave!" the rude boy said while looking at the other to back him up.

"No, if this is really a monster wave, then it's the more reason we need to get back to the city! This place will soon be turned into a war zone, and our chance of survival would be lower than if we try to leave now!" Char disagreed.

"What do you know? Have you ever fought a knight tier orc before? Even with all of our creatures fighting it, we barely were able to beat one! If you haven't realized, each of us is from the elite class, none of us is weak!" the boy glared at him.

"I know enough to know that we will not survive if we stay here until the wave breaks out!" he gritted his teeth in frustration.

If it was before, then no one would ever doubt him. Not that he was no longer a genius in their eyes, they did not even listen to his perfectly reasonable opinion.

"Enough, we don't need to fight. Those who want to stay here can stay and those who want to leave can leave," Aya cut in.

"Yeah! If you want to leave then leave, we don't need you to protect this cave, we only need to wait a little more and we can summon our creature!" the boy pointed at Char and said harshly.

"Are you trying to kick me out when you are the guest here?" Char looked at him with wide eyes.

"Yeah, you can just go away, this cave is not yours!" he said arrogantly.

Char's face grew darker, but he didn't argue, "Fine, we were about to leave, anyway. You can have this hole for your burial place," he replied in a low tone.

Anne followed him silently as she knew he was pissed, she was pissed too, but she held it in just like he did. They did not want to start a fight.

"Wait, don't go yet," Aya called out to them, as she picked up her belongings.

"Aya, what are you doing? Why are you stopping them? Didn't you say who ever want to go can go on their own?" the boy asked.

"Yeah, that's true. And I'm going too, I just try to tell them to wait for me," she replied without turning and went after the duo.

"Ah, that's right, I was about to go as well," another member of the group said as he followed after the girl.

"Yeah, me too," "me too!" Everyone followed after Aya and left the boy alone at the back of the cave.

"Wait! You guys! Didn't you stay silent because you agreed with me? Why you leave now?" the rude boy panicked.

"If Aya is going, then we are going too!" they said before they left the boy.

He actually wanted to follow but his pride did not allow him to did so, "If they want to die out there, then just let them die, I will stay here and become the survivor!" he convinced himself as he summoned his creature for protection.

"Why are you following us?" Char asked Aya as they walked out of the cave.

"I agree with you, it's better for us to try to get back to the city then staying here, the chance of encountering another knight tier creature is the same whether we stay in there or go out, and I'd rather go with you if that happens," she said straightforwardly.

"Huh? Don't tell me you fall for my handsome look," He looked at her in doubt.

"Are you sure you are a genius?" she looked at him as if he was an idiot.

"I had seen how strong you and your creature are, and I believed you were holding back. Moreover, I saw how you stopped your girlfriend from talking when we mention knight tier orc, it was easy for me to guess that you actually kill one," she said with a smile.

"Huh? She is not my girlfriend!" he denied, as if he just accuse him of mass murder.

"Hey! Who even wants to be your girlfriend! It should be me that gets offended!" Anne protested, but the two geniuses ignored her.

"So you do not deny that you killed a knight-tier orc before?" she leered at him.

"That was a tough fight, and we were in a cave, so its movement was somewhat restricted," he digressed.

"but, it's still impressive enough that you can kill it. If we work together, then we should be able to beat such a threat," she said.

They went out to find only a few orcs remaining, Char was about to go and help the skeleton and Imp to finish the remaining orcs, but he stopped when he felt mana gathered behind him.

"Kyu! Kyu!" a familiar sound could be heard behind him.

Char suddenly felt an imminent danger as he activated his reconstruction magic and boosted his speed in an instant. He rolled to the side as holy light passed through where he was, and went toward the orcs, smashing them back and leaving them half dead.

He turned to the source of the light. It was a baby with three white wings behind its back. It had used an improved smite.

"Kyuti! Don't attack him! He is not a bad guy, he is a friend!" Aya lost her composure and scolded the three winged cherub.

"Kyu? Kyu?" it looked confusedly at her. That gave Char an itch to split the creature in two, but he held it in.

"Char, I'm so sorry, she seems to think you were a threat since you know that night we met," She tried to explain.

He could feel a pricking glare from all around him, "Damn it, don't explain in such a vague manner! People are misunderstanding your word!" he retorted in his heart.

"Its ok, say no more. Let's go we have a long way before we reach the city," he changed the topic as the remaining orcs had been killed by the skeleton and Imp.
