A Kirin named Merli

After I agreed Merli had said it had to go grab its stuff. By the next day Merli was knocking on my front door. Or at least what you an call my front door.

"Wow you did all of this in one day?"

Merli was holding a bag above its head with what seemed to be telekinesis. I pointed, "How much can you lift with you telekinesis."

Merli looked up and roughly nodded, "50 kilograms, which is like half my body weight...Whatcha doin?"

I looked down at all the rocks I gathered, before answering. "I am making a system to know if someone enters the out-cove. As well as making a fire pit. Both of which I can just use rocks for."

Merli nodded, "Smart!.... How do you plan on ending the forest conflict?"

I looked at Merli, "I am no where near the ability to be able to fix that."

"You do look rather young.... I suppose you were abandoned by your tribe? Tauren's don't really think that much."

"I evolved from a cow. There is a farm house over there th-"

"WOAH! That place! So you were a monster created by monster god worshipers! No wonder you didn't know about the fact wolves don't live here. I thought you came from the Tauren tribe in the east. Its a tad far, but its the only one I know of."

As i adjusted the rocks into the correct distances I spoke, "Yeah about that, What is the monster god?"

Merli stared off into space before answering. "The monster god was once one of the most powerful gods. Though from what I was told he took pity on monsters and that is why he is removed from the other gods and given his or hers name."

I raised an eyebrow, "His or hers? Didn't you just call the monster god a he."

Merli nodded, "Monsters call him a he, humans however depicted the monster god as a seductress though. So they tend to call he as a she aka most monster worshipers. Speaking of I knew those guys at the farmhouse were cultists, but what were they?"

I looked at Merli with confusion and it elaborated. "Were they still human? or one of the turned?"

Merli sighed seeing more confusion, "Turned are monsters like vampires or werewolves and what not."

"They were wererats, can monster become turned?"

Merli paused for a second, "I suppose, after all monsters can become undead so I don't see why they couldn't become turned. Though I think it depends on what. Like a breeds of monster wolves can't be turned to a werewolf you know?"

I nodded, as I scratched my head. Merli spoke without any prompt, "You shouldn't scratch your head when your horns are growing in. Trust me I did and it was awful."

My jaw dropped that was why my head was so itchy! I motioned to Merli, "So anyway tomorrow you wanna head over to that farmhouse and check it out?"

Merli nodded, "That be good, maybe we can find something to make you grow stronger!"

I paused, "I don't tend to pry into people's lives, but why don't you wanna grow stronger?"

Merli gave me a smile and shrugged, "Well how did you evolve from a cow and yet you have this level of intellgence?"

"Touche, however it still leads to an other question. Merli what are you?"

Merli jumped up, "I told you I am a Kirin! A grand species that rivals mind flayers in psychic powers!"

I paused, before just going for it, "We are both naked Merli. I can understand why you would be you are a four-legged creature that uses telekinesis. However I am left with questions about monster cultures with how you act. I saw goblins have like wrappings as clothes and stuff. So is it just certain monsters or...."

Merli stared at me, before its face reddened. "W-W-Well I mean I guess! I wasn't really thinking about that! I never really saw any other monster up close so I just thought it was a human thing! I am so sorry should I not have been looking? Do you want me to make you some pants? I-I can make some pants! Mama taught me how to sew and stuff."

I raised a hand, "I would in fact like pants, but Merli are you a girl?"

Merli's face reddened even more, "Not yet! W-wait no I mean.... Um, Kirin's don't decided their gender until uh later in life when a...."

I shook my hand, "I get it... So uh, I'll be gather some wood." I left that embarrassment quickly, people never change I suppose still making awkward situations even in my new life.

I fanned my face as Akira walked off, I knew I should've used more telepathy on him! Now I am just embarrassed! I mean how is he gonna take me seriously if I am unable to know stuff like this?

"Stupid Merli, Stupid!"

I huffed, calming my heart. Going forward I would need to understand Akira knows a different standard and sense. For now I guess I can make those pants for Akira. I had brought some blankets and I could use those to make some clothes. Unwrapping my stuff Mama's mirror fell out and clicked on the ground.

I stared into my reflection. The fur around my face was green and white. With my Silver horns coming out from my nose and cheeks. I clicked the mirror shut, before I stared too long at the dot like freckles on my face. They weren't freckles, but I knew they were symptoms of my father's blood.

I would need to face him one day....
