"Dad, you can just come in." Gu Tan helplessly sighed and shouted.
"Yes, village chief!" Gu Chen smirked and walked in while teasing his son. Zhao Xin couldn't help but giggle as well.
"Alright, what news have you brought, Mr. Chen?" Gu Tan rolled his eyes and continue playing with his hoarse tone.
"Village Chief, as per your order, I have investigated that man and found out quite a lot about him. He is a criminal wanted by the Goose Village. During his stay in Goose Village, he slaughtered ten men, assaulted five women, and used the blood of fifty children for his cultivation."
"This man was completely normal two months ago. But, after two months, he suddenly awakened a martial soul and started walking on the path of blood." Gu Chen's expression slowly turned solemn as he explained more about that man.
"What?" But as soon as Gu Tan heard his words, he instantly stood up.

Saying so, Gu Tan turned his head at Gu Chen and asked "Dad, take me to him, right now!"
Gu Chen didn't understand why he was in such a hurry but still nodded his head and lead Gu Tan to the small prison in the western part of the village. It was basically a tent where two people were tied up with chains and separated by a thin wall.
Seeing the condition of the prison, Gu Tan couldn't help but sigh. There were four guards standing around the prison wearing silver armor.
'I need to finish the renovation of the village quickly. This can't remain the same.' Gu Tan sighed and walked towards the tent with his dad.
"Greeting Village Chief!" The guards immediately bowed when they saw Gu Tan. Although they still feel a little uncomfortable, they didn't dare to go against it. In fact, no one in the village feels comfortable calling a ten years old child village chief.
Gu Tan nodded his head walked inside the tent. The tent itself was made out of cloth and the only thing that was truly keeping them inside were the chains tied with the boulders.
"Hello, Uncle!" Gu Tan greeted his uncle who was on the right side of the tent. His uncle was in quite a miserable state. He found that his grandpa gave him some heavy punishment.
"I heard you are making huge changes in the village." Although his expression was filled with pain, he still smiled and spoke.
"Uncle, you know more than anyone. If I don't bring changes in our village, it will get slaughtered soon." Gu Tan spoke while walking to the left side. He didn't want to convince his uncle. After all, he still has some hatred against his uncle.
He was the main reason why his village was slaughtered.
"Hehe! Nephew, you can't save this village. Once they find out, and believe me, they will, this village will no longer exist." Gu Chu madly laughed forcing Gu Chen to come in. But, Gu Tan stopped him and let him stay out.
He didn't care about his uncle at all. He walked up to the man on the left side. This man was covered with blood and bruises. These bruises weren't the result of his battle rather the torture from his father. His mouth was broken as well.
Seeing this, Gu Tan couldn't help but sigh.
'Ace, can you read his memories?' Gu Tan was going to use the technique but suddenly he remembered that Ace could read the memories as well. So, he decided to ask her, after all, using those techniques would create some side effects especially with his cultivation.
"Yes, Host! But, I need to hack into his brain, collecting memories from billions of neurons. There are two ways I can perform this operation. One is fast and another is slow." Ace explained after confirming that she could read others' memories.
'What's the difference? I mean except for the time, will there be any troublesome situation?' Gu Tan asked.
"If I choose the slow route, I can collect the information without harming his brain. But, it could take a lot of time may be days or even weeks. But, if I choose the fast route, I can collect the information in five minutes but that means he will die." Ace answered which made him shocked.
But, he quickly made up his mind and walked out.
"Dad, will it create any trouble if he dies?" Gu Tan couldn't help but ask. After all, this person wasn't from his village and he still doesn't know much about other village's rules. That's the reason why he told elders to send women for learning those rules.
"No, but why do you want to kill him?" Gu Chen couldn't help but ask. He didn't want Gu Tan to involve in killing at the age of ten. It's too cruel in his mind.
"Well, actually it's not me who will kill him. I wanted to read memories so I asked if Ace can do it. She said if it needs to be done without killing him, it might take weeks. And, I can't stay here for weeks. So, we can only choose the second option." Gu Tan explained to his dad without hesitation.
Ace's existence wasn't secret to him. So, there is no need to hide anything.
"Alright then! Wait, you said you want to read his memories. Are you going to do something bad?" Gu Chen couldn't help but look at his son suspiciously.
Hearing his words, Gu Tan sighed "Dad, I can't do anything bad. If I do anything bad, the whole village will fall. Don't worry, I have something else to do with his memories. It was something that my master told me before but I never thought I would get this opportunity so soon."
"Well, since you call this opportunity, then I won't ask you anything further." Gu Chen sighed a breath of relief and patted Gu Tan's shoulder.
Gu Tan nodded his head and walked inside the tent. He knows both of them have already heard his words. His uncle stared at him with cautiousness. As for the man, he started looking at Gu Tan with fear in his eyes.
But, with a broken face and weakness all over his body, he couldn't even move. Gu Tan walked closer while asking 'Ace, do I need to touch him?'
"Yes, host! You need to touch him for five minutes." After Ace's confirmation, Gu Tan walked in front of him and spoke.
"Don't worry, this will be very painless. You won't feel anything."
'Wait, Ace, it will be painless, right?' While comforting him, Gu Tan realized that he hasn't even confirmed it. So, he hurriedly asked while putting his hand on that man's head.
"Yes, host! It will be very painless." For a moment, Gu Tan couldn't help but feel that Ace just tried to copy him, not words, but feeling. But, he quickly forgot about those stuff and focused on him.

"This function is very useful. I hope you will use me a lot in the future." Ace answered.
At this moment, Gu Tan paused for a moment and said 'Ace, can you not say that last sentence in a feminine voice?'
