Chiriku offered an underground space and took us there; It was surprisingly spacious for an underground tomb. I sat on the floor and formed a few hand seals which caused a few writings and symbols to move out from under me and circle the place. Under normal circumstances, I would just tap my feet and use my chakra to write the seals, but this time, I did not want to be careless. They were not for the extraction, but to contain the three to five tails that could appear if things did not go right; Which I knew things would go right, by the way.
Things needed to go right. If I made a mistake, which again, I wouldn't, the pseudo nine tails could go berserk. I could easily subdue it with the help of the seal, but I would rather not have any unknowns happening. After a brief moment of hand weavings, the seals and barriers were set. I asked Chiriku to guard outside for us, but I had already placed countless trigger warning barriers and silent barriers, as well as attack and defensive seals around. Fuck the unknown. Whoever came to interrupt had better come prepared for war.
I wrote two circle seals on the ground, one large and one small, connecting to each other, with Sora in the larger and myself in the smaller. Everything was ready. Sora looked at me with determination and nodded. Standing in front of him, I formed a hand seal before speaking, "I forgot to tell you, this will probably hurt like crazy."
"Huh?" Before he could process it, a huge shadowy mouth opened up and swallowed him whole. Next instant, Sora appeared in my mindscape. He sat in the middle of a circle with the kanji for 'Seal'. He saw a person sitting in one of the circles, but before he could get a good look, a sudden wave of pain washed over him as he floated a few meters of the floor.
He felt like he was being ripped apart piece by piece and he wanted it to end. The number nine circle lit up as red chakra began to flow from Sora and towards the circle with the Kanji 'Nine'. Sitting in the circle with the Kanji 'Ten', facing the floating Sora, was Inner Me who held the 'Ram' hand sign. Outside the mindscape, I stood in the circle while maintaining the 'Ram' seal as well. Maybe I should have sat before I began. No use in complaining now, I had already begun.
After three days and three nights of grueling chakra extraction, Sora's body which was suspended in the air finally fell back down as the last wisp of red chakra left his body. Ok, maybe grueling for Sora, but I had been standing for three days straight too you know.
In the space of number nine circle was a large red glowing ball of floating chakra. Both myself and Inner Me changed hand seals as the circle glowed even brighter, finally properly sealing the nine tail's chakra. I was very surprised because It was huge. I never thought it would be so, considering it was just the scattered chakra of the Nine Tailed fox which had been gathered. I had to give it to Kazuma, for being able to gather this much; No wonder even Sora was able to enter Four Tailed Mode.
I brought Sora out of the underground and met Chiriku who was sitting in front of the underground path. He too had not moved a single step, carefully guarding the place. I handed Sora to him, "He's only unconscious. He should wake up after a while. And before u ask, yes, it worked." I answered the question he wanted to know the most. He smiled.
"Thank you. Now he can live a much more normal life." I shook my head at him. Such an old man with naïve thinking. Just because he was no longer how he was before did not mean the looks of hatred in the eyes of the monks would stop. Well, maybe that was Sora's battle to fight alone, and maybe Chiriku knew that himself.
"You should tell him the truth about his father." I finally said before disappearing with flicker from his sight. I moved in blinding speeds, pushing my sealed body to the extreme limit to put as much distance between me and the Fire Monastery as I could, in my Yin Cloak. After moving like that for a full hour, changing directions left and right, I finally came to a stop in an unknown forest.
I broke into a happy and hysterical laugh. "HAHAHAHAH! It worked!" I was more than happy. Just because it had been prepared, did not mean it would work. The seal was not something I had shown Uzumaki Ken, in case he decided to stop me, or worse, tell Mebuki about it. I was not strong enough back then to stop her if she truly tried to stop my plans; Testament to her hunting me down and the scar she left on my chest. I was more than happy that my designs worked.
I quickly took off the Rorschach mask and coat and put on my normal attire. I needed to improve on the seals once more. Strong enough to hold a struggling nine tailed beast. Granted, I had successfully gathered the chakra of the nine tails, but I needed to use him as a reference of power for the other beasts, in case I ever needed to use force; Which would probably happen.
If I had learned one thing about my missions so far, it's that something unexpected happens at the end of almost every one of them, that was why I bolted earlier. I did not want to risk worse unexpected situations like black Zetsu. With the way things did not want to go my way smoothly, and with how this extraction did go smoothly, I had to bolt from there. I did not know if I could deal with black zetsu at the moment. At least maybe after the two years when Akatsuki officially began to move, I would probably have had that comfortable power. Thinking about all I could accomplish in the coming two and half years made me smile.
I was even beginning to worry because the whole mission went too smoothly; I had developed a certain paranoia for smooth missions. Either way, my work was finally complete. I had been away for months now and it was time to head back to the village. Just as I was about to move, I felt a signal from my shadow as a shadow hand emerged out of my shadow with a scroll.
'Kouki? Oh, are they active now? They did schedule their tests for a few months later. Are they already working?' I had been kind of off the grid ever since I completed the Daimyo mission, so it was understandable they would use this method to send me this message. I took the scroll and opened it. It was a simple backup mission. Not as an Anbu, but as a regular Jounin.
"Oh? Is it time already?" Kakashi and his team had suddenly sent a report and their mission had been changed from a C-rank to a possible B or A-rank. The Hokage had assumed me to have already returned to the Land of Fire by now so I was to join Team Kakashi as back up just in case.
"I wanted to get some rest, but who can say no to extra money? Besides, I am quite looking forward to seeing Zabuza and the pretty boy Haku again." With a smile, I disappeared with flicker.
